Ugh, blown double play. Buehrle's gotten destroyed by bad defense this season, and his inability to get the 4th and final out of the inning. -

So far, only a 6 mph difference between Buehrle's fastball and change-up. As they were talking about on the radio today, Buehrle's been getting crushed on his change-up this season. -

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 13, 2008 -> 03:12 AM) Well he has read the scouting report. He is featuring his breaking pitch. The devils pitch as Walker calls it. He has an excellent curve. If he has good command tonight, we're in a lot of trouble. -

QUOTE (daa84 @ May 13, 2008 -> 03:05 AM) why not stagger the lefties and go AJ crede then swisher? oh well probably wont matter Do the Angels even have any lefties in the pen? -
QUOTE (daa84 @ May 13, 2008 -> 02:53 AM) lol true...we were so bad...i remember losing to the pirates last year (maybe got swept, i dont remember, i tried to push it out of my brain) ...i thought i was gonna kill myself Needless to say, I took losing 5 out of 6 to the Cubs very well.
-
QUOTE (G&T @ May 13, 2008 -> 02:51 AM) I thought that last year. Things didn't turn out so well. Well, that's cause the Sox sucked. If they do awful again vs the National League, then we'll know they're not really contenders.
-
QUOTE (G&T @ May 13, 2008 -> 01:46 AM) I didn't want to make a definitive proclamation about guys that haven't had a chance yet. But yeah, we gave up a lot of Pods. Oh well, I'll take the WS ring.
-
QUOTE (G&T @ May 13, 2008 -> 02:41 AM) Carlos Lee might be a more productive player than anyone traded this off season. might? Stat wise, Carlos Lee's one of the top sluggers in the game this decade.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 13, 2008 -> 01:39 AM) I still can not get over the fact they gave away Thomas and Reed Johnson. Trying to rid themselves of bad clubhouse guys? -
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 13, 2008 -> 01:36 AM) Where is our Edison Voloquez? I guarantee you could have got Hamilton for less than we gave up to get Swisher. I understand being concerned about the history/injury stuff though, but he would have been a great high risk, high reward type acquisition.

QUOTE (daa84 @ May 13, 2008 -> 01:29 AM) i cant wait for interleague play....the NL is so bad this year its not even funny...ugh i know i talk about it all the time, but it just aggravates me so much to watch the cubs beat up on a new has-been pitcher every night while facing a joke of an offense and bullpen guys nobody has ever heard of (with the exception of the last diammondbacks series, but even that team isnt as good as their record indicates, though i will concede they are very legit, and are the cubs, but the rest of the league stinks) They face three of the worst offenses in the AL during interleague in the Sox, Orioles, and Toronto (without Wells, of course).
-
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 13, 2008 -> 02:25 AM) And the Cubs get to play the Pirates afterwards. One powerhouse after another While the Brewers have to play Boston and the Cards get the red hot Rays. You would think MLB would try and give the Cubs some marquee interleague games, but they've had extremely easy schedules two years in a row.
-
QUOTE (daa84 @ May 13, 2008 -> 02:23 AM) i know randy wolf has been good this year, but how pathetic is this padres team? randy wolf and shawn estes in the rotation? jody gerut leading off and playing CF?? I assume their manager will be fired soon. I still think the Giles family should have their own wing in the steroids Hall of Shame.
-
Well, that Padres lead didn't last long. Where's Jim Edmonds when you need him. At least we have Estes trying to stop their winning streak tomorrow.
-
You know, it's too bad we didn't trade for Josh Hamilton instead of Nick Swisher.
-
Cliff Lee's ERA is down to .70

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 13, 2008 -> 12:44 AM) Oooooooor not Something is up with Zambrano. He is in the 80's, the trainers came out and looked at him, he is acting like something is bothering him Looks like his back was bothering him. Hopefully he's injured...if there's someone that's due for an injury, it's him.

QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ May 13, 2008 -> 12:38 AM) Didnt Buehrle beat them in the 05 playoffs Yep, and if I recall correctly, OC flew out to the top of the fence in the top of the 9th. -
As. Cabrera just turned an unassisted triple play vs the Blue Jays. Indians are on the verge of a 4 game sweep vs the Blue Jays....thanks for nothing Toronto!
-
Zambrano vs Padres offense with wind blowing in = recipe for a C. Zambrano shutout.
-
Bruce Levine reporting it's almost a given Edmonds will sign with the Cubs. An unlikeable cast of characters becomes even more unlikeable.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 12, 2008 -> 12:14 AM) Lametown. I agree, bumping threads in early May is lame.
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 11, 2008 -> 11:11 PM) Well they are exploiting him low and away like the usual whitesox hitter. He looks like he is guessing up there as well. And he is trying to pull everything. He's starting his approach towards the pitcher WAY too early. How many broken bats must he have before they change his timing mechanism.
