  1. Capuano is such a loser....how many 5 run leads can one team blow in a season?
  2. It's sad when Fields is the 3rd best hitter in the lineup.
  3. Nice to see Ozzie leave Wasserman in to face a plethora of lefties. I'm going to be so pissed off if Owens is starting for the Sox next year....he's a one dimensional player, and that dimension is probably the least productive of all of them.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 03:22 AM) I guess it's easier for Hawk and DJ to suggest "bad luck" was the reason the ball shot over Fields that than blame Danks for laying a fat fastball down the plate. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?autocom=chat Thanks for saying exactly what I was thinking....I really wish I could be more optimistic about Danks, but he really has to work on his mechanics. His follow-thru is as bad as you'll find in the majors.
  5. Please, please, please, don't go into 2008 with Owens, Pods, or Erstad as a starting outfielder.
  6. AJP's homer was the prettiest swing I've seen all year. On the other hand, Danks just isn't fooling many hitters.
  7. You won't see a worse call at the plate all year. The Cubs have gotten every single crucial call in the last two months.
  8. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:46 AM) And Erstad unless Ozzie signs a waiver to not start him every damn game. I'd have no problem with Erstad as the last, or next to last, guy on the bench. However, our manager is so s***ty, he won't be able to use him correctly.
  9. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:44 AM) Pathetic. This organization is in shambles. They need to make some major changes. Everyone keeps saying this team's not that far away from competing, and I disagree with that. The talent level on the big league team is not playoff level, and the core players (PK, Thome, Dye, AJ) look to be slowing down.
  10. The two players that absolutely, positively better not be on the 2008 White Sox are Pods and Cintron.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:43 AM) Rob Mackowiak needs to be brought back this offseason. His contract is going to get bought out and he's going to become a free agent. He grew up here, he loves the city, seemingly likes the organization and he's a good baseball player. Seems like a perfect fit. For some reason, I don't think Ozzie ever knew what he had in Mackowiak. If Rob keeps playing poorly in San Diego, he's not going to get too much this offseason.
  12. I predict that Cintron is rewarded for that amazing at-bat with a start tomorrow.
  13. Haha...well done Ozzie. Way to pull Thome when he'd be the 5th hitter up in the 9th. Cintron is absolutely freaking worthless.
  14. The lineup we have right now might be the worst in Sox history (no Thome or PK)
  15. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:35 AM) Potential Lineup in the 9th inning against Putz -Uribe -Richar -Owens -Fields -Cintron Against a pitcher with this type of stuff...completely laughable. But people think Owens is a starter....GMAFB
  16. What I like about Wasserman is we actually have a reliever who pitches to contact. Too many of the guys we had to start the year had to throw 10 pitches to every hitter as it got to 3-2 and they'd have to try and get a strikeout.
  17. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:31 AM) I suppose so. haha...I do think there are a couple other organizations worse (St.Louis for one). But our situation in the minors with the exception of a couple nice Starting Pitcher prospects is indeed quite ugly. At least they have Rasmus.
  18. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:25 AM) The fact of the matter is we missed, and missed badly, on Pedro Lopez and Robert Valido. At one time, they were considered very nice SS prospects in this organization. Now they are basically turds. I like our situation at Catcher (another suspect position for us) FAR better. You could have made it simpler and said our minor league offensive talent is the worst in baseball.
  19. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:22 AM) I think I will back up on that suggestion. His fielding is above average (like Uribe) and his average is 25 points higher than Uribe's, but .............. the guy takes way less walks than Uribe (how could this be possible). He barely gets extra base hits, isn't exactly young....and just isn't good. He wouldn't be an upgrade at all.
  20. All of Ibanez's hits today have been on fastballs...maybe they might want to keep him off-balanced.
  21. This says it all http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  22. I've decided if the Sox bring Pods back next year, I'm going to ask to be banned from this site.
  23. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:12 AM) I'm starting to think the Jays McDonald might be worth looking at. Oh please no...he should be a back-up middle infielder. I'd rather have Uribe over him.
  24. Contreras will start the rest of the year for the Sox....100 pct sure of that.
