  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) So before the Cy Youngification begins of Seth McClung. Any reasons for our lack of putting points on the board tonight. He's made some good pitches, but we gave up two outs on the bases to start the 2nd and 3rd inning, and our hitters aren't doing a good job at drawing the walk.
  2. QUOTE(daa84 @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) verlander vs. santana is turning into the dandy it was expected to be It was pretty impressive the pounding we gave Verlander.
  3. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) Jeez. I bet you're loving the weather right now too. I just found it funny that someone complained that Mackowiak has ALMOST been picked off over the last few weeks, when we had a player who got picked off almost 20 times last season.
  4. Haha....batting practice fastballs the last inning + from Garland.
  5. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) of course fat ass gome catches that ball...i am telling you we are destined to get swept. That would be just fantastic momentum heading into the Cubs series.
  6. Nice catch by Gomes there. He was running in quick sand it seemed.
  7. QUOTE(daa84 @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) mack has more near pick offs in 6 weeks than anyone on our team had last year Only reason for that is Pods gets picked off, and it's not a near pick off.
  8. Juan's best chance might be to hit one of those 56 ft curves after it hits the dirt.
  9. Very nice swings by Mackowiak. He'll be getting a lot of playing time this wknd.
  10. There we go. That's a good start. If that ball was caught at the fence.....ugh, wouldn't have been happy.
  11. Angels won't trade Shields for someone with a 9 million dollar a year contract. He's far too valuable to them, and they can spend their money to get a better pitcher for maybe one million dollars more per season.
  12. I'm just thankful that Garland very likely had his career year in a season that led to a World Series championship.
  13. Gotta give credit to the Tampa guys on their homer though. They're not trying to pull everything at the plate right now.
  14. Two homers now allowed for our sinker baller.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:04 AM) Iguchi swung at a strike, not a ball. This zone is much bigger than last night. Though that one was almost right down the pipe. Um, no. That ball was well high. Doesn't really matter though, butr would have been nice to get the leadoff man on.
  16. Terrible inning at the plate....two guys chase ball four at their shoulders, and another takes a called 3rd.
  17. Who the f*** cares if this is corpseball or not. That phrase was so 2 years ago. All I know is that this team has lost some of its swagger in the last week. Prior to the Haeger game, these guys seemed like they went on the field thinking they were going to win the game. Now, they just seem timid on the field.
  18. Garland's throwing more changeups to righties, which is something he hadn't been doing.
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 17, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) We have 3 hits, too bad we've killed two opportunities with baserunning horses***. You can't be making the first out on the bases like we've done.
  20. Haha....this is pathetic. After tomorrow, we have 3 out of our next 4 games against damn good pitchers (Maddux, Zambrano, Zito).
  21. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 17, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) how about toby hall's walk off in 2000??? That was Flaherty, not Hall.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 17, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) And it was on the 4th of July which for whatever reason made it even worse. Don't forget we had just made two big trades, swept the Twins in a dramatic game, and were cruising that game. Meanwhile.....can our runners stay on the f***ing base?
