QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Good grief.. soon the entire Indians squad will have passed through our doors. Also.. I'm gonna get some details on his work ethic, clubhouse persona, etc. just in case this holds some water. Well, from the people I know, he's possibly the best clubhouse leader in baseball.

Juan Pierre is extremely overrated, and is in the last year of his contact. He'll very likely be playing in Chicago next season, but not for the 2005 World Champions.
-
Otsuka is rumored to be a trade candidate for the Padres to get David Wells back. Also, look for Dave Roberts to go back to Boston as well.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 05:23 AM) Duque, Marte and some damn good prospects would do the trick. Why would the Marlins take a 5 million dollar extremely injury-prone starting pitcher when they're trying to save money? If KW pulled that trade off, it would be better than anything he did last season.

QUOTE(spiderman @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 04:49 AM) I know Levine keeps saying the White Sox are going hard after Delgado, regardless of what happens with Konerko, but wouldn't the White Sox, to make this work financially, have to give up more than just Marte ? I'm thinking it would have to be either Garland or Contreras (probably Contreras because he's got 1 year left on his deal, which would give Florida flexibility) and Marte just to get the salaries closer, and even then, the White Sox may ask the Marlins to pay a percentage of this. Where am I wrong ? Even though a lot of people here don't think it's a possibility, I personally think the only way we trade for Delgado is if Contreras is in the deal.

QUOTE(bulokis @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 03:26 AM) Hey that Geoff Blum won us a World Series game How can you not sense the sarcasm in my statement?
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 02:52 AM) Reggie Sanders and Jim Edmonds Sanders missed a couple of months, and Rolen was a non-factor this season.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 02:42 AM) here is the difference. Jones carried that team through all it's injuries. Paul Konerko didn't carry the team. The Pitching Staff did. Yeah, since the Cardinals were so healthy all season. :banghead

If I was starting a team in baseball today, Pujols would be the player I'd choose to lead the team. Not a doubt in my mind about it either. Vlad could only dream of being the type of leader that Pujols is. Also, Pujols seems to play through a lot more injuries than Vlad does.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) thats proven fact? what are you banging your head for? that you've been taking something that is more detrimental to your liver and kidneys than steroids yet have been talking out of your ass on the steroid subject for the last year? Maybe you should know who you're talking to before you go running your mouth about what we do or don't know. I'll make sure I'll tell my father and his 30 years of practicing medicine that he doesn't know anything. Even you yourself said there's no way to prove steroids can directly cause a death. Thus, how can you bring up a "fact" like that? -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) take it for what its worth, but you have a better chance of dying from over-the-counter aspirin than you do from steroids. WOW! :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead -

Autopsy results reveal he died of heart failure. Worn out blood vessels and an enlarged heart were symptoms. -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) first of all people, please. steroids don't kill. fourth of all, the wrestlers who are dieing at an early age all have the same thing in common. they are all obese, have a history with drugs and alcohol, and/or got involved in some sort of foul play. Yep, that Crash Holly was sure a fatass. If you don't think steroids plays a big part in these heart attacks, you're naive as hell. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) I don't know about that. There's always gigantic new wrestlers that nobody gives two s***s about. Guys like that come and go, and they can't depend on their size to survive. I think a lot of it depends on their character and their ability to be liked or hated. I'm sure being big doesn't hurt, but I don't think it's necessary at all. One of the biggest complaints about the WWE the last few years is that they only bring in big guys. Some of the best wrestlers in the country are in TNA instead of WWE because they're not "big" enough for Vince, Jim Ross, etc. However, we could go on for hours arguing about what's gone wrong with wrestling over the last couple of years. It's a damn shame to see so many wrestlers die at a young age. -

Trust me, up until like 5 years ago, I was in denial that all my favorite wrestlers were on the juice. Then, I started to get more interested in the behind the scenes aspect of it (almost interned with WWE), and that opened up a whole new world of the business. I would be simply stunned if guys like Mysterio weren't on the juice. In a business where the biggest and strongest guys get the biggest push, you need to do whatever you can to get ahead of your competition. -
Last time this stupid trade winds thing was open, all we got was Geoff Blum

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) And if the deal is done, it probably still won't include Corey. When Bruce Levine is right on a rumored transaction this season, it will be the first time.
-
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) Damn, look who was right: I don't see any sign of Corey Patterson in that deal. Ship Rowand off to the Marlins for Delgado. This rumor has pretty much been gone back to being pure speculation.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) absolutely. Its like saying every baseball player is on roids because some were caught with roids. You want to change my mind, give me proof instead of accusations. HUGE, HUGE difference between baseball and wrestling. Baseball players are athletes, and wrestlers are entertainers. Even the guys who were pure muscle when they started in WWE, like Kurt Angle, are on the juice now. As for proof? I can't give you their blood test, but people talk outside of the ring. Name me one wrestler in the WWE right now that you don't think is on roids? -

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) hey, when bill self is your coach, no win is guaranteed. Unless it's a recruiting battle against Bruce Weber. -
Maybe the Bears would have less injuries if they weren't busy knocking each other out! News reports tonight say that Kreutz punched Fred Miller in the jaw, and that's how he injured himself.
