  1. In an elimination game...you go with your best. This should have been a 12 out game with Politte, Cotts, and Jenks.
  2. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) 2 lefties and a switch hitter due up next. Politte is just as good against lefties.
  3. It wouldn't be a Garcia start without him allowing the last batter he faces to score.
  4. Why not go to Politte in the 6th? Why are we messing around with pitchers who have been erratic all season?
  5. You guys have watched games all season. Right or wrong, Garcia will almost definitely be out there next inning.
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) Ouch. No cheapie that time Papi. :finger When I first read that, it made me think he hit a 3 run bomb.
  7. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) Although he's worse, I just hope they ultra-pessimists don't come out either... There shouldn't be a single person ready to jump off the ledge if the White Sox were to lose today.
  8. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) No, on any other day thats a fly ball for an out though. Even better. Who gives a s***, it was a homer. We just need to get the ball in the wind also.
  9. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) I bet neither one of these f***sticks hits 40 homeruns in a normal f***ing ballpark. 250 ft shot is a homer, and that's foul in any other park. Those are two of the best power hitters in baseball. For every cheap homer they get, they probably hit a rocket off the monster that would be gone at any other park.
  10. I'm not seeing the game, but Freddy sounds less than sharp today.
  11. Garcia's struggled all year holding the opposition after the White Sox score.
  12. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) Because he was on first and Nixon has a good arm.. Thanks. That's what I thought, but someone in the office said he was on 2nd.
  13. Question for those who can watch: Why didn't Iguchi score on Dye's 2 out hit?
  14. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) still waiting on someone to show me bias today...... I have heard them say nothing that is not accurate, nor fair Some people are getting way too worked up over the announcing. Who gives a s*** who Berman is cheering for? Personally, it makes winning games that much sweeter when you stick it to that ego king.
  15. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) 3 run hr by Arow after a leadoff triple and walk! With so many people at working following this thread for updates, don't post s*** like that unless it happens or make it obvious it's a "prediction". Thanks
  16. Rub your eye like crazy, and tell your boss you have pink eye.
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) Anyone else think we didn't see the best of Bobby last night at all? I know he's been struggling as of late, and he was throwing a lot of those fastballs high and away last night. Not having a go at him, because he still got the job done, and for a rookie in his 1st season in a high pressure situation, that's fantastic, but Bobby can be better, he can get that curve over in the strike zone more, and he can get that fastball in on the hitters more. I was thinking about this today driving to work. It's amazing how far Jenks has come this year. He was able to get 6 outs against a great hitting/patient teams without anywhere near his best stuff. He was overthrowing his fastball, which made it lose velocity and either cut too much or stay high and up. His curve, besides for one or two, was just rolling to the plate. It's fantastic he was still able to get guys out for 2 innings with just his talent, and nothing else. It's a lot better than seeing a less talented player get burned just cause he doesn't have the stuff to get MLB hitters out. If I was a Red Sox fan, I'd be furious at the terrible Damon AB in the 9th.
  18. The White Sox have a total of 5 men LOB in the first two games of the season.
  19. Berman's an annoying announcer, but some people seem obsessed about nitpicking every thing he says. It reminds me of Illini bball fans that would get pissed about everything Dick Vitale said last season. Who gives a f*** what the announcers say? It's the game on the field that matters!
  20. It would sure be interesting if Wilder got the Arizona GM spot. We've often talked about the DBacks being a big trade possibility with the Sox this offseason. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  21. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:12 AM) When he goes back to his career norms next season, you won't like him as much and neither will the Red Sox. By the way, does anyone remember Graffanino's terrible error in a game against the Cubs when he was still playing for us? It ended up blowing the game for us. A guy on ESPN 1000 brought it up earlier. In extra innings, he forgot to tag Eric Young going into 3rd base on a bunt. Stairs hit a sac fly, and we lost because of it.
  22. QUOTE(Wedge @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 02:07 AM) Seems like maybe we have a pretty smart manager after all. I wouldn't go that far YET! But it's very nice to see him maintaining his composure during the playoffs so far.
  23. QUOTE(S720 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) Fathom: Did you hear what Harold Reynolds said about Ozzie? Reynolds said that Ozzie was pretty smart of bringing Jenks to face Manny-Power against power. Ozzie knew that once Manny is done, the White Sox would have a chance to win the game since Ortiz has already batted before Manny. YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH No, I didn't hear him say that. I liked Jenks facing Manny because he made him look foolish last time he faced him. Honestly, Graffy scared me the most vs Jenks because of three things: 1) trying to make up for the error 2) hit a long homer last time up vs Jenks 3) short, compact swing
