  1. If you're going to put Jenks in as your closer, you have to let him get out of that situation.
  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:52 AM) The there any reason for Jon Adkins warming up? :lol Yes, to piss us off
  3. Is he going to Marte? Unbelievable.....simply unbelievable.
  4. Well, that sucked. Hung the curve ball, lucky it stayed in the park.
  5. This will be a big test for Jenks. He just had the entire half inning to sit in the dugout and think about the bottom of the 9th.

QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:45 AM) either way 102 on a gun..... ozzie shouldnt of brought in jenks.... sexons a dead fastball hitter Just be happy it stayed in the park. Sexson is a low ball hitter, and Jenks put that ball right where he likes it. Cotts and his high fastball would have probably been a better match-up...but it's too late for that.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:43 AM) That seems to be forgotten. I love Bobby as much as anyone but who cares what he hits on the gun, don't get me wrong it's fun to watch but it really doesn't matter...... It's sure a lot more exciting than seeing Shingo walk two batters and then give up a blast.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:42 AM) It's just some numbers on a gun, which are notoriously inaccurate. He did allow a double on the play. Haha, I was going to say the same thing, but didn't want to get bashed for being negative. This wouldn't be the first time that the radar guns were off. I swear, the Cubs used to pump up Farnsworth's numbers during crucial situations.
  9. They haven't shown anyone else warming up for the Sox. Got a feeling we'll see Jenks in the 9th.
  10. Jenks looks like he could be Carlos Lee's American brother.
  11. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:38 AM) He looked like he was running in quicksand going around 3rd as well. I was shocked they had a play, I would have thought Ichiro would have scored easily. Yeah, there was a few seconds on that hit where it seemed everything went still. Since you couldn't see the ball, I started to get worried it was a homer.
  12. QUOTE(RDriesen @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:37 AM) LOL, you need to get a grip buddy. it said as the sox keep losing. implying, as they continue to struggle(WHICH THEY ARE) they need to find something to help them out. which is true. i see the sox doing exactly what the m's did that one year. be unbelievable in the reg season, do nothing as far as trades, then come playoffs, DUD. i hate to say it, cause i would like to see the sox do well, but thats just the way it looks. right now, i would take the red sox and a's over the white sox, and i think they would have to play one of those 2 teams in the playoffs. if they get someone else, they got a good shot Yeah, they've sure been struggling this week.
  13. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:37 AM) wow what a relay...it seems like the sox have thrown out a lot more at the plate this year than normally...better arms in the OF and AJ is a beast behind the plate!! No offense, but until the last week or so, it's felt like the complete opposite.
  14. We definitely got lucky there. Bad slide by Ichiro.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:35 AM) Who pitches the 9th after we go scoreless in the top? It's the same group of guys that Hermanson has faced lately in Beltre, Dobbs, etc. I have a feeling it will be Jenks.
  16. Not so sure AJP tagged him on that play. I'll take it though...about time we got a call at the plate.
  17. Sexson's also a dead low ball hitter. Cotts is a high ball pitcher. I can understand why Ozzie would make this call though.
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:30 AM) Isn't Sexson like a straight fastball hitter? Yep. Be careful on first pitch heater, as he almost homered in the same exact situation off of Politte a few weeks ago.
  19. Looks like it's going to be Jenks. This AB will likely end in either an impressive strike out or an impressive homer.
  20. Great job by Cotts there. Will Ozzie bring in Jenks to face Sexson?
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:27 AM) I love how everything is always Ozzies fault...always. WORLD HUNGER? Ozzie you asshole... IRAQ? Ozzie :headshake He's in charge of this team. Fair or not, it all relates back to him.
  22. And that's why you let Cotts start the inning. Instead of having to try and throw perfect pitches against a great hitter, he could have pitched against a below average righty hitter. Oh well, it's his job to shut them down now.
