DABearSoX replied to KeithFranklin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If I remember correctly I was a Angel, Mariner, and Rocky......The year of the Mariners we beat the cubs in the championship, on the other hand though the year of the Rockies we beat the White Sox in the championship...... Warrenville didn't move up to team names til the few years before traveling squad....bet you guys cant beat "Portable Tool, or Herbo Tree Service" -

aaaawwwww Kelvin Escobar

Paulie's my boy, that salami was a game saver, but I still have to go with pods....14th walk off in world series history, off one of the best closers in the league, from someone who hadn't hit a home run all season. I loved PKs reaction, but the reaction from pods was freaking hilarious/heart warming/utterly joyful. oh and I forgot to add, both make me tear up everytime i watch the WS DVD.

QUOTE(rventura23 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 05:41 PM) agreed, take out his injuries last year and when Thomes healthy his numbers are incredible. If he stays healthy and can take advantage of the cell, hes going to look good in that sox uniform What DH are you talking about......

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 04:03 AM) Its February 27th. Yea I know the date, and I think you know why I said March 1st. Give me a break I am in a 3 hour class and have to pass my time somehow
-
Well November is months away, but I was thinkin that March 1st can be our Thanksgiving. 2005 was a turning point for pretty much all of us, unless we have some 95 year olds with computer literacy. The whole feeling coming into this spring training is different. I try to look back and see how I felt at the beginning of other STs but I really can't think on that level anymore. Well getting back to my point of this thread. What are we all thankful for in the White Sox community. I will start it off with the most obvious : We are all thankful that we finally did it and grateful we will at least see one trophy in our lifetimes. The number one thing I am most thankful for though, is the unity of this whole organization. Not just the team, the fans just as much. Starting with the team, I love how they convey a sense of pride, bringing back old players to coach and so forth. Basically just creating that proud feeling to be apart of the Chicago White Sox. The other part of this that I am hugely grateful for is our fan base. I don't care what anyone tells me, I don't care about the media, I dont care about how filled our stadium is. I think us true White Sox fans are the most loyal in the game. Not only to the team, but to each other. Throughout my 22 years as a SOX fan, (yea I was born with a sox mini bat in my hand), when I am not in the Chicago area and someone sees me wearing my sox gear they always make a point to come up to me and talk at least 5 seconds of sox baseball. And whenever I see someone I make the same point. And yes that loyality also conveys with our knowledge of the game. I might not have been to all 50 states but in my time I don't think I have ever met a fan of another team that is more knowledgable then Sox fans. I am not saying this with bias either, i just have never met a Giants, A's, Rangers etc.. fan that could hold a conversation about the game of baseball more then a Sox fan. and lastly I must add I AM THANKFUL FOR THE RALLY CREDE

I swear, most of those comments are like a broken record from last year. "We are surprised with his progress", "I feel no pain at all" and so on.....I love the big guy, but most of the times he is saying what the media/fans want to hear.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) I think its 119 or 129 or so for the season. Its unbelievable. I'm an out of towner so without it I wouldn't get to watch the Sox except for ESPN and WGN games. I also watch some of the other games. Totally worth it, especially for the out of market fan. is that the number of total sox brodcast or just the ones with our annoucers. First year I will be far away enough from home not to at least get the AM signal accross the lake. I am pretty sure I am shellin out the cash to get it.....I want good enough quality that i can acctually see the ball, and I dont think that is possible with mlb.tv. a tip for you that want to get the radio brodcasts on the internet, the last 2 years when I was in Michigan I signed up for the SI subscription to get the free radio for the whole year. I waited a day after I signed up for it then cancelled my SI order, so i got charged nothing.

I gotta say its one of the best deals I have ever gotton off ebay, Perfect lookin jersey with the nice black with silver outlined stiched name and numbers. The only thing missin is any of the arm patches which I will add myself. So check ebay you never know when you score on a good deal.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) LOL! A bartender threw ice cubes at Jenks' head? What a dick... still hilarious though. I was at a small bar on the North side I think it was on Brodway watchin a sox game this summer, the bar tender (women) smacked my friend in the face for being a Cubs fan. Now that was hilarious.

Saturday, May 6 vs. Kansas City This game stuck out like a sore thumb on that list.....anyone know the reason why a KC game would sell out before nationwide ticketsales even started?
-
I believe that should be the lineup 92% of the time.....but we have to trust the Wizard the wonderful wizard of OZ.

The day before I came back to Colorado, the trophy was in danada starting at 2. Considering my car was 1000 miles away i had to wait for mi madre to get home and I got up there around 3. At that time they had someone standing at the end of the line turning people away. i pleaded with her to let me sneak in being it was only myself, she wouldnt except my $30 donation to the charity but assured me that it would be making stops around the area til mid-season sometime. I walked away crying since I wont be around IL much this summer. To make a long story short, it should be touring for awhile according to that selfish b****.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) The pizza is good. PLus those arent the only real options Hot corn beef stand section 113. Corn off the cobb section 116. Steak Sandwich, and pita. So who has the count on how many threads have been hijacked by thoughts of Comiskey food.

not saying that it was in the best of my ethics, but I loved when I could get a $6 monday night ticket and walk down to 3rd or 1st baseline with no hassle.....but i'll take the increased payroll and louder stadium over that. and if anyone would have extras to opening day you know who to pm. I havent missed it in 5 years, but its lookin like this is the year, at least i'll get to see them a week beforehand in Tucson.
