Not only is he an awful pitcher, he's also a terrible fielder on top of it. Fun.

Official 2008-2009 NFL Thread
QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 10:08 PM) yea but the pack shut down AP in the second half (10 for 30 yards), gotta give them credit there because that's no easy task It becomes a lot easier when the Vikings passing attack consists of the receiver falling down half way into his route and throwing his hands up in the air in hopes of coaxing a flag.

Did the HR Derby ruin Hamilton?
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 02:03 PM) Coming out of the All-Star break Josh Hamilton's OPS actually went up. He raised his OPS by 17 points in the first 2 weeks after the break and pretty much maintained that ~.927 for 2 weeks after that, really he's just been terrible over the past week or so. He's hitting .158/.179/.316/.495 over his last 38 ABs. There's your culprit. Remove the last week and Josh Hamilton is hitting .289/.381/.562/.943 w/ 8 HR and 20 RBI in 31 games since the break. So no the Homerun Derby had absolutely nothing to do with it. He's just in a slump right now. So Hamilton is hitting .500/.538/.750/1.288 in 24 ABs since this thread was started. Like I said a week ago: it was just a small recent slump, the HR Derby hasn't had a negative effect on him.

9/9: White Sox vs Blue Jays, DH G1: 1:05, CSN
The Twins are off so a Sox win puts them 3 up in the division. It's redemption time for that 4 game sweep earlier in the year where the Sox held the Blue Jays to 12 runs in 4 games but only scored 5. Active Blue Jays vs Javier Vazquez: Scott Rolen 15/57 w/ 3 HR, 1 BB, 8 K, .263/.276/.474/.750 Vernon Wells 5/32 w/ 1 HR, 0 BB, 7 K, .156/.156/.375/.531 Alex Rios 8/29 w/ 0 HR, 2 BB, 8 K, .276/.323/.345/.668 Gregg Zaun 6/20 w/ 1 HR, 4 BB, 3 K, .300/.417/.600/1.017 Lyle Overbay 4/17 w/ 0 HR, 2 BB, 4 K, .235/.300/.294/.594 Rod Barajas 2/15 w/ 0 HR, 0 BB, 5 K, .133/.188/.133/.321 Brad Wilkerson 0/9 John McDonald 3/7 w/ 0 HR, 1 BB, 3 K, .429/.500/.571/1.071 Marco Scutaro 0/6 Joe Inglett 0/6 Active White Sox vs AJ Burnett: Jim Thome 7/25 w/ 0 HR, 4 BB, 10K, .280/.379/.480/.859 Orlando Cabrera 6/25 w/ 1 HR, 2 BB, 3 K, .240/.296/.360/.656 Ken Griffey Jr 3/16 w/ 0 HR, 0 BB, 6 K, .188/.188/.188/.376 Juan Uribe 2/11 w/ 0 HR, 2 BB, 5 K, .182/.308/.182/.490 AJ Pierzynski 1/22 w/ 0 HR, 0 BB, 3 K, .091/.167/.091/.258 Jermaine Dye 3/9 w/ 0 HR, 0 BB, 1 K, .333/.333/.625/.958 Toby Hall 2/8 w/ 1 HR, 1 BB, 0 K, .250/.333/.625/.958 Paul Konerko 3/7 w/ 2 HR, 2 BB, 1 K, .429/.556/1.286/1.842 Nick Swisher 2/7 w/ 1 HR, 1 BB, 2 K, .286/.444/.714/1.158 Jerry Owens 2/4 w/ 0 HR, 0 BB, 2 K, .500/.500/.750/1.250 Brian Anderson 1/3 w/ 0 HR, 0 BB, 1 K, .333/.333/.667/1.000

Your first place Chicago White Sox!
Too bad we're actually 80-62. 22 games over sounds a whole lot better than 18.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) I dont even know if i'd want to be an MLBer if it's like Toby, where pretty much any thing i do, whether it's positive or even just where i have to run around multiple bases... i get laughed at by announcers and teammates alike. He gets paid nearly $2M to play once a week, pie his teammates and get laughed at for being 30 pounds overweight and bad. It's a sweet gig.

QUOTE (SoxSider @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) I thought the game was supposed to be on tbs too. But all it says on tbs is "SUNDAY" and the baseball logo thing.... kinda strange, not that it really matters to me. I watch it on csn anyways. That's probably becuase it's blackedout for anyone who gets CSN.

Figgins - 3B Matthews Jr. - RF Teixeira - 1B Guerrero - DH Hunter - CF Rivera - LF Wood - SS Mathis - C Rodriguez - 2B Cabrera - SS Anderson - CF Dye - RF Konerko - 1B Ramirez - 2B Swisher - LF Uribe - 3B Fields - DH Hall - C So 3 non-regulars for the Sox with Griffey, Thome and AJ all getting the day off against the lefty. If I'm not mistaken that's pretty much the Angels regular lineup with the exception of Anderson on the bench and both Rivera and Matthews in the lineup at the sametime, so 1 non-regular.

Hell if he doesn't want to use Anderson why not just leave Wise in the game and stick him in LF?

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 08:20 PM) He got a terribly late tag up as well. If you are going to be balsy and try it, go right away. Ugh. By the time Owens took off the ball was already halfway to the cutoff man. That's just embarrassingly bad.
