  1. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 05:15 PM) I have to say I am enjoying this whole FA period and leading up to the draft as far as the Bears are concerned. They may be pretty mediocre next season but I knew coming into it after they started this rebuild that it would be times like this that I should look forward to. The speculation, the FA additions, the trades (hopefully), and the drafts. There are a lot of moving parts right now and it is really interesting as a fan sitting back a watching it unfold. You get an idea of what coach Fox and Pace are thinking as the overall picture starts to get clearer and clearer. It's just really nice to have faith in the people running the organization. They have a plan and they're executing, it doesn't feel like the rudderless ship of previous administration(s).
  2. Zach Miller's back on a 2 year deal.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 08:56 PM) But didn't they also give Turner something like $2.5 million? Nope
  4. Bears sign Hicks to a 2 year deal.
  5. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) I went back and started from the beginning. Like any show a few of the episodes are hit or miss, but even the mediocre episodes have a few great one liners. The start of this season has been fantastic, especially the bike chain episode. It's my go to for lazy day rewatching, i'll just throw on a random episode and I'm guaranteed to enjoy it. Actually just rewatched the bike chain episode and yeah, it's awesome. I love the pace of the show, they really take their time and let the scenes breath, not a lot of cuts, it ends up feeling like a very real moment in the life of Abbi and Ilana rather than a tightly produced comedy. It's incredibly unique in many ways.
  6. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) Broad City continues to be awesome It's great and somehow continues to get better each season.
  7. Also re-signed Unrein to 2 year deal.
  8. $12M total, only $6M guaranteed, $2M in incentives.
  9. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 11:12 AM) “Jose Fernandez is a great example. Jose Fernandez will strike you out and stare you down into the dugout and pump his fist. And if you hit a homer and pimp it? He doesn’t care. Because you got him. That’s part of the game. The problem is that so may people DO care and will drill you, young or old. if the guy is that expressive as a pitcher when he does well, you can bet he most likely won't be happy with you 'showing him up' when you drill one to left.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 06:11 PM) Way too much for Porter and Massie. Love the Trevathan signing though How can you say this without knowing the guaranteed money?
  11. The flashbacks, they're so vivid! Obviously it didn't matter but Griffey would've been a hell of an improvement over Everett, we're talking a 90 point difference in wRC+ in the second half of that season between those 2. And no, this is not some sort of endorsement for acquiring Jay Bruce.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 09:08 AM) Welcome to 2015. Good luck getting the theme out of your head. Watched it when it first came out, haven't revisited it since and yet I was still humming that damn song yesterday.
  13. Would have been more fun if they had only provided the last 3 year's stat lines without names.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Not necessarily soxfest but a great Hawk interview. At the end, he says Hahn isn't done https://theathletic.com/2016/01/30/hawk-har...ne-talking-yet/ Hawk is very confused.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) Love that cap. I'm gonna have to get one. The one in the online shop doesn't look quite right: http://shop.mlb.com/Chicago_White_Sox_New_...IFTY_Fitted_Hat
  16. For reference, the 2015 Zips projections:
  17. Would you trade Spencer Adams for Dexter Fowler at 3/$42M?
  18. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 09:58 PM) I'd be extremely happy if this ended up being the move. Not only are you upgraded the defense slightly, but the offense gets a big boost: Eaton RF Fowler CF Abreu 1B Frazier 3B Cabrera LF LaRoche DH Lawrie 2B Avila/Navarro C Saladino SS I think that's a playoff caliber roster with our pitching If LaRoche and Melky were the players the Sox thought they were signing, I'd really like this lineup.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) Anyone have an amazon echo? Grabbed one when Amazon had them on sale last year half thinking I wouldn't use it often enough to justify the cost but I've probably used it everyday since. Really cool piece of tech.
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 09:37 AM) I was looking for a new show to watch and Netflix kept recommending Peaky Blinders to me. A BBC show about a 1919 gang outside of London. I gave it a shot and I have to say I really, really enjoyed the first season. Only 6 episodes, an hour a piece. Pretty great for being relatively short. There's a 2nd season on Netflix and they just wrapped filming on season 3. And as an added bonus Tom Hardy is a regular in Season 2.
  21. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 09:42 PM) I could be wrong but I think Fowler and his agent will use Melky's contract as a base starting point. I believe Melky's contract is for 13M in '15, 14M in '16, 15M in '17 totaling 42M. Spring Training is less than 4 weeks away. That clock is ticking.
  22. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 10:05 PM) It's over! It's finally over! Btw, NO team was beating the Mets offer. He wanted to go back this entire time. The Sox could not have beat that offer. A sneak peak at Merkin's next article.
  23. Basically a one year deal with an nice insurance policy.
  24. It's finally over.
