Sox acquire Adam Eaton from ARZ, deal Santiago, Jacobs
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 04:37 PM) I think we go with Sale-Quintana-Danks-Johnson-Paulino now but the problem is that it is LLLRR... I really don't think this is a thing.

That stoner the Sox got for all those old guys back in '97. I bought his rookie card, still cherish it.

2013 Video Game Thread
QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 17, 2013 -> 01:31 AM) One gripe about GTA V...analog steering is far too sensitive. Everything else is awesome though. The amount of detail is amazing. This is annoying the crap out of me, right out gate the RX8 is unwieldy.

2013 Films Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 08:59 AM) I absolutely loved The World's End. Rounded out the cornetta trilogy brilliantly. 3 films that are endlessly watchable and guaranteed to please, no doubt in my mind The World's End will be just as enjoyable on the 10th viewing as it was the first. I absolutely adore Edgar Wright. Hot Fuzz is on BBC America right now, I had no choice but to watch it, probably for the 20th time, every gag is still as effective as it was in every previous viewing.

ARod suspended for entire 2014 season
I actually find Ryan Braun more detestable than A-Rod. Bruan is a steaming pile of malicious s***. A-Rod is a blundering, blustering narcissist, trapped by his own neurosis. Neither is particularly sympathetic but at least A-Rod's s***tiness can be viewed on the surface, Braun is rotten to the core but hides behind those big doe eyes. f***er.

Adam Dunn cleared waivers
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 10, 2013 -> 01:29 PM) I figure the Sox will win 30 percent of their home games and only win 20 percent of road games the rest of the season. Where will that put them? 93 wins, likely looking at a wild card spot in that scenario.

Peavy to Boston, Avisail Garcia + 3 low lv specs to Sox
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) Yes, I think he is mistaking that McCarthy start in Boston on a Monday which was a makeup from a washout a month prior. That wasn't a double header it was a day game on Memorial day if memory serves...and he pitched excellent that game. He also started game 2 of a double header in Texas the week prior and was lights out. 7 baserunners and 9 K's in 14.2 IP in those 2 starts. Absolutely huge.

Peavy to Boston, Avisail Garcia + 3 low lv specs to Sox
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 10:03 AM) They used Brandon McCarthy in one start of a doubleheader to avoid having anybody start on short rest. Aside from that, the five starters started every single game that season. Huh? McCarthy made 10 starts that year, including 4 in September.

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 01:27 PM) Yeah. It's a reason why guys arent all dumped August first A team can waive, at most, 7 players a day in August.

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 5, 2013 -> 09:50 PM) You think the entire NL passes up on those guys? I'm thinking the Pirates could claim Rios before it ever gets to the AL. Well, considering waiver priority begins with the league in which the player currently resides I'd say that's unlikely.

2013 MLB Catch-All thread
Just so you know: Mike Trout turns 22 on Wednesday, he owns a career .315/.395/.546/.941 line in 1277 PA to go along with 53 career HR and 76 SB in 85 attempts (89%), oh and he leads the league in walks.

Man, I wish I was in a position to b**** about a .304 OBP Ramirez and .261 OBP Keppinger hitting at the top of the lineup. This f***ing season.

Jesse Crain dealt to Tampa Bay
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 08:22 AM) In Erstad's case, yes. I hated that move from the second it happened. I still have a PM I sent Kalapse right after it saying how much I hated the move and that it would be OK if he were used properly but that Ozzie would totally start him and he would be the ultimate suck. I can vouch for this.

Peavy to Boston, Avisail Garcia + 3 low lv specs to Sox
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 01:56 PM) I agree with keeping him in AAA until September, especially since he's already had an option used on him this year. You can send a player between the majors and the minors as many times as you want in a season and it only costs you one option year. Hence why Jordan Danks hasn't run out of options.
