White Sox (43-25) vs Reds (37-31) 6/18/2006 12:15 PM
Kalapse replied to WSoxMatt's topic in 2006 Season in Review
I so called the Garland HR. -
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) Just curious, is HGH considered an illegal steroid or substance by federal standards? Or is it just a banned substance in baseball? It is illegal, in the same sence that anabolic steriods are.

David Segui has come forward, claiming that he is named in the affidavit, he pointed Grimsley to a doctor who could get him HGH. Segui still takes HGH today. Grimsley caim to Segui asking how HGH could hellp him recover from Tommy John surgery.

QUOTE(ChiSox35 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) I was getting pretty sick of everyone whining about Uribe. Gotta love that .235 OBP and a s*** load of strikeouts along with NO walks 2 and a half months into the season. The fact that he was making mental mistakes on defense was not helping things either.

QUOTE(Spiegle @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) correct me if im wrong... but... his rational for putting mack in was so that he would lead off the next inning (and in turn, move the pitcher's batting spot down), but... why couldnt he just leave BA in center, and then pinch hit for the pitcher had there been a problem and Jenks blew the save? am i missing something, or did oz really just out dumb himself here? He just totally out smarted himself. If Jenks would have given up 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game I'd have no interest in seeing him pitch the 10th. If you have a 3 run lead in the bottom of the 9th you have to put your best defense out there, the last thing you need is a shot to the gap with the bases loaded and the tying/winning run scores because you meaninglessly took out your best defensive player.

Johan Santana through 14 starts and 96.1 IP he has 104 Ks and only 16 BBs he's allowed a whopping (seriously) 11 HRs (half of what he gave up last year), his WHIP is actually high for him at 1.02 as is his .228 BAA on top of all this he has a 2.99 ERA. He's struggling.

Despite having the 2nd worst record in the NL the Cubs still think they're in it, I doubt they'd sit their best hitter just to spite the Sox.
-
It was a foolish move but it was in fact just a double switch.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 10:31 PM) Yup. Some more good news I'd say? We've given Big Jim 2 days of rest, and it hasn't cost us one iota. And after tomorrow, we only have 6 more games at NL parks until October, and those games are against the bottom dwellers in the NL Central. The bottom dwellers of the entire MLB the only team worse than the Pirates and Cubs is the Royals. There's only 2 teams in baseball with a win% in the .300's and we just happen to face both of them to finish up interleague play for the year.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) Amazing. And I'll say as of right now, Kalapse has the best sig on this site, bar none. I am a HUGE Anderson fan. Perhaps it's time to bring back the Rancid sig.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) Kip Wells went 5.1 IP with 1 ER, 2 BB and 4 K. Brandon McCarthy: 5.1 IP, 2ER, 1BB, 6K Josh Stewart: 6.2 IP, 2 ER, 1BB, 1K

AJ Pierzynski is the bestest evar.

Pablo ain't bad at infield D.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) Curve right here... He's already thrown a few with poor results.

I REALLLY like Felipe Lopez.

Hmm, I feel a ground ball comming.

QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) Right, plus it's not like we can't pinch hit Mackowiak for Jenks anyway. So this double-switch potentially gives us another inning from Jenks. If Jenks gives up 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th I don't want him pitching the bottom of the 10th.

QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) BA would have had it. You are high.
-
QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) a double switch... were in the national league... if they tie it pitcher spot comes up I'd take the auto-out at the beginning of the top of the 10th over Mack in center field any day of the week.
-
AJ Pierzynski you're my hero.

Edgar Matinez' career would have been over 8 years before he retired if the DH didn't exist. It helps players who totally suck at defense, are injury risks in the field or are just too damn old to play the field a way to prolong thier careers. I hate watching National League baseball anyway, you see so many pitchers walk the 8th hitter in order to get out of a jam, in the AL there isn't usually that incredibly easy out in every lineup that pitchers can bank on. It deflates ERA's and and inflates strikeout numbers for pitchers.

Adrian Beltre's contract wouldn't be all that bad IF he were able to revert back to his '04 form. Carl Pavano's contract wouldn't be all that bad IF he were able to revert back to his '04 form. Once year wonders should not be counted on to produce the way they did in their contract year. Jack Wilson is quite bad.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) To be honest this whole trade winds is a waste of time...the moves KW makes are never even close to the rumors we post. Thome and Vazquez were as well as Junior except that was nixed at the last second by Cincy.
-
Perhaps they chose the wrong guy to do the speach, he doesn't exactly have what I'd consider a commanding tone. I think it may be poorly written on purpose, I'm just not so sure I want to support a team with blatant communist connections.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) He shows his true colors when you make fun of Mike Caruso.... like how pathetic of a player he was and stuff like that. You know not of the greatness that was Micheal Caruso, the man is a legend and you will remember him as one.
