QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) Anybody got large HQ photos of the banner ceremony? Its noticably absent from my collection.

Ouch, it's still down. Didn't it go down on draft day last year too? Scott Wright has some s*** luck.

Damn, this is one sexy team.

Speaking of amazing pitching talents that just can't stay healthy . . .

QUOTE(Damen @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) Makeup or not, I'll still pee in their butts. I'm just surprised that so many people have not heard this phrase used before, I've heard Hawk use it during Sox broadcasts on numerous occations.

I might be the only person out there that really doesn't care a whole hell of a lot about the announcers of a television broadcast and can tolerate almost anyone when it comes to a radio broadcast. During a baseball game usually I'm busy discussing the game with those around me and am not relying on the announcers to entertain me. At times I can go almost an entire game without really hearing anything that an announcer says that is not standard play by play.

QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) Also if that's why you hate Favre thats fine with me, but the majority says he sucks, and they still hate him.I want to know why they think he's such a bad QB. He's 37 years old and forces the issue on every play which is just one of the reasons why he ended last season with a 20:29 TD:INT ratio. The Packers have done just about nothing to help him out through free agency and he's another year older on a bad team, that is why people say he is just about done. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) For the Guy who Sadi Jim McMahon, 1 i am talking present day QB's careers, and 2 You can't compare Favre to McMahon. No contest. So what you're doing is comparing Brett Favre's career (15 years, HOF, one of the greatest of all time) to Rex Grossman (25 years old, 8 career games), Kyle Orton (23 years old, rookie last year) and Brian Greise???? We get it Favre had a better career than Grossman, Orton and Griese have had so far in their careers and they will probably never come close to Favre's career numbers. It completely pointless to be comparing careers at this point, all that matters is current status, Grossman is 12 years younger than Favre and is on a better team.

Game Thread-White Sox vs. Angels(Fri., April 28)

I just love this picture. Even though Doug Eddings will always have a place in my heart. -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) Umm you know without him the Cubs would have made the World Series before we did and possibly won it before we did, correct? That's no reason to like a guy, as a matter of fact that's pretty damn stupid. I do not like Josh Beckett, never have, never will. period.
-
s***, I checked and I do not have it anymore. My HDD was re-imaged a few months ago and I lost all my old graphics. I really hope someone saved it because I would love to have it, just to have it.
-
I made it and only used it for a short period of time because people b****ed about the file size. I don't know if I even have it anymore.

QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 08:46 PM) the guy didn't mention that barry has no world series rings anyways, so his affect has never helped any team in the playoffs (although he did come close) I agree, his 8 HRs in the '02 playoffs had absolutely nothing to do with the Giants making it to the World Series. You have to remember that Baseball is a major team sport and if Dusty Baker wasn't such a s***ty in game manager, Bonds would probably have a ring right now and his 1.994 OPS in the '02 WS would be remembered more than it is.

Ben Broussard just hit a grand slam against Josh Beckett in the top of the first on the first damn pitch he saw. As the ball carried on its way to the stands right I actually smiled, I f***ing hate Josh Beckett.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 02:51 PM) Can anyone watching the Cubs game tell me how bad the throwing error by Hanley was? Would it have been a double play with a good throw? Hanley should have just stuck it in his pocket. Even with a perfect throw Hairston still would have beat it out, instead Ramirez ends up throwing it 5 feet over Jacobs' head at first.

QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) How old is roberto hernandez? seems like he's been around forever. He is 41 years old and surprisingly this is only his 16th year in the league. He got his first real chance to pitch regularly in '92 at the age of 27 with the Sox.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 01:01 PM) I'm going to laugh at all of the people who get angry when BA only hits 16 HRs this year. Remember how Crede was supposed to be the next Mike Schmidt? How'd that work out? If BA hit's 16 HRs this year I'll be happy, 4 HRs isn't going to make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things. Joe Crede is only 28 years old and plays some of the best defense that you will ever see at 3B. I don't expect him to hit 548 career HRs like Schmidt but he still has a chance to have a damn good career of his own. Comparing any unproven spect to one of the greatest of all time is foolish in any context. Just wait until Larry Bird, wait I mean Adam Morrison makes it to the NBA, people who expect him to be Larry Bird-esque are going to be in for a rude awakening.
