Nip/Tuck
QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) Is it Matt, the son? Possibly, but it doesn't necessarily have to be a man. A few of the victims have been raped but that does not mean that it was a real penis. I really think it's Kimber. It all just fits so perfectly.

Additions to the 40-man Roster
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Haeger!!!! Nice!!!!! The rest are not surprises to me. Owens and Young both have a chance to prove themselves in ST That's the name that jumped out at me as well. Maybe the Sox are serious about bringing along the knuckelballer. That's so f***ing cool.

Carl Everett?
Enough with the Everett jokes, they're seriously old and not funny in the least.

If Rowand was moved...
I'd much rather have Pods in LF and Anderson in CF if that's what it came down to. No way in hell would I want Pods playing anywhere but LF or DH.

cubs get eyre
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) NSBB is killing this move. "The history of baseball, especially the past 10-15 years, is littered with marginal relievers who have had 1 or 2 good years, surrounded by several seasons of garbage. We're talking about a guy who has been less effective out of the pen than Kyle Farnsworth, who was run out of town after supposedly being too inconsistent for somebody making $1.5m. Would anybody have been willing to go 3/11 on Farnsworth? I really liked the guy and wouldn't have considered it." After the money that Eyre got, Farnsworth should be looking at even more money strickly based on his 100MPH fastball and slider. The Cubs may have set a precedent.

Sox Cliques
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 12:05 PM) GROUP 3333333333333. Geoff Blum was the glue that held Group 4 together, without him Group 3 can not survive.

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Eyre is not a lefty specialist, look at his splits from last year. I liked this quote, "Scott Eyre's agent had heard from nearly every team regarding the free agent left-hander, but in the end he decided to go to the team that looked like it was having a good time." What, a good time? Um. Scott Eyre said this morning during some interview I heard somewhere that he chose the Cubs becuase of their "Winning History." I s*** you not.

Sox Cliques
You have the obvious Rowand-Pierz-Crede clique. Then you have Buehrle and Garland who are buddies. I'm pretty sure Paul Konerko and Jeff Abbott were pretty tight the 2 years they played together.

Aaron Rowand
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) Kalapse, I'd take JD's words pretty strongly. Not saying its 100%, but if he heard it, it is its from someone he knows pretty well whose tied into baseball. He's definately one of the people I'd consider a Soxtalk source. You really have to stop replying to posts before you read the clearification later in the thread.

Aaron Rowand
QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) And I appreciate it very much. I remember last year when you let us in on the details about Lee for Pods before it happened. Didn't he post the Raffy Palmeiro steroid thing too? I'm not doubting that the Marlins have a lot of interest in these players I just don't think they've made this wishes public.

Aaron Rowand
QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) Tampering? GM Meetings just took place. A lot of things were talked about... this was one of them. So you could show me a source that says Larry Beinfest or anyone with the Marlins for that matter have mentioned Rowand, Contreras and Marte by name?

Aaron Rowand
QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Florida has made it clear that they have interest in three players on our Major League Roster... Marte, Contreras, and Rowand. A trade of adding Rowand allows the Marlins to have a cheaper/new alternative to Pierre in center. Pierre will be dealt, if not during the offseason... before the trade deadline. The Marlins are supposedly trying to cut their payroll in half (YIKES). If I had to bet on one player getting traded this offseason, it would be Damaso Marte (but we would need to add another lefty first). If that doesn't happen, I see Rowand as next in line to be dealt. Hard to do that without tampering.

I would appreciate it if people would not unnecessarily freak me out over s*** like this. Anyway, I'm glad it was only a one day thing with those football pics and now it's back to big pics. Even if they are f***ed up.

Disgraced again
It was a dumb mistake but how was that a disgrace? Overreact much?

Move Iguchi
Why did you use none on/none out? Is it becuase he's batting .271 with the bases empty? You really have to take all stats into consideration when making a case like this.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) This really sucks. I'm just glad my ass saved 5 billion pics during this year from Spring Training until the Parade. ditto, I have well over 1 GB worth of pics from the '05 Sox season that will never be deleted. The only question is, now what? I've grown accostumed to having large pics for every sport and now that has been taken away. The AP started slipping near the end with all the lines and distortion on a lot of the pics but now I get no pics at all.

Pierre to the Cubs?
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) it would make me laugh if Hendry gave up Pie and more for Juan Pierre. Hendry doesn't give up talent, he'll end up fleecing the Marlins for Pierre, it's what he does.

Love him or hate him....
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) I think it's the Dominican Republic. You're right.

Skepticism?
A lefty power bat isn't even what this team needs. The Sox could really use a batter with some good power who can hit right handed pitching well, he doesn't have to be a lefty, just has to be able to hit righties. This team was absolutely f***ing pathetic Vs right handed pitching last season, that' something that needs to be addressed this offseason.

Love him or hate him....
QUOTE(Wanne @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) He's not on the Sox...so I couldn't give a rat's ass about ARod. Would I take him on my team...hell yes...but he's not...so why get yer undies in a wad about him? I thought it was strange to see him on the field with all the Latino players before that WS game...dude...weren't you born in NYC?!?...then he's gonna go play for who at the World Games (or whatever the hell it's called). He want's to play for Puerto Rico. EDIT: I suck
-
Skepticism?
The thing is, people tend to remember the last thing that happened in certain cases. Meaning, since we went 11-1 during the playoffs and ended up winning the World Series. People like you tend to forget what it was like during the regular season when the team didn't hit for s***. The offense sucked this year in general and an upgrade is necessary. I highly doubt the Sox get as lucky in '06 as they did in '05, with the timely hitting and non-injuries. Changes need to be made.
