QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) I agree, I love the pic Kalapse used. But the real question is, where is Haynes in that sig? Sitting on the bench. I wouldn't call him a stud in the least, he's a decent backup end. There could be a real case made for Mike Green to be in there though.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Well, he is a total pimp! Here is another mugshot but not near as pimpish: I didn't want to use a mugshot of him smiling. And in almost all pictures of him you can't see his face.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) That would be a no in my opinion. BTW, not a knock on the sig or anything but you couldn't find a better picture of Tommy Harris? It's Tommie Harris. His mugshot is by far the best pick of him out there.

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) Oh, no, Griffey pulled a muscle today and will be out tomorrow too! Whatta we gonna do -- oh, wait, we didn't get him. He sprained his right foot.

QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Every review Ive ever heard of Pittsburgh was rather unflattering. Youre the first Ive met to actually have liked that place. Which is it, s***hole or shan gri la? PNC Park is the best stadium in baseball. I absolutely love that place.- Flying Under The Radar
QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) David Terrell was cut by the Patriots. I hope he ends up in the CFL. The guy is a headcase and a below average WR, he was so damn happy to be out of Chicago yet the people in Chicago were 1000X happier to see him gone.- Game Thread 9/4

Teyo Johnson was relaeased by the Raiders, he could be a great fit for the Bears. We desperatly need a TE, Desmond Clark most likely will not make it through the entire season and right now John Gilmoure is the backup. Teyo was a 2nd round pick 2 years ago and was a damn good TE/WR at Stanford.- Konerko a finalist for Hank Aaron Award
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) Joe Crede deserves a bonus? He's one of the worst offensive players in the sport... Crede is currently making $400K and is a Boras client, I think it's safe to say that he'll be making more than that next year.- Konerko a finalist for Hank Aaron Award
Everett's option is worth $5M next year as opposed to the $4M he's making this year.- Konerko a finalist for Hank Aaron Award
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) Well this post wasn't mean spirited or anything... Anyways, It's too early to lay out the entire off season at this point, nor should I or anyone want to considering last time i checked.. this season was still going on.. but the one thing I am certain of is that I would rather take draft picks than pay a first baseman of Paul Konerko's caliber the money GHC suggested. I believe that's called ducking around the question. Just because this season is still going on doesn't mean you can't start looking towards next season, GMs do it, why can't the fans?- Game Thread 9/4

QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) SAD f***ING DAY If this has anything to do with the Sox pushing this, they are biggest retards on planet Earth, I would personally go down to front office and punch someone in the face Then you'd be arrested, put in jail and make all Sox fans look bad.- Konerko a finalist for Hank Aaron Award
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) In my dream world, I imagine a deal like this getting worked out. 2006: $10M 2007: $12M 2008: Player option $12M; Team Option $14M; Buyout $2M 2009: Player option $14M; Team Option $15M; Buyout $3M That would be a guarateed 2/$24M. The Sox could say they offered him 4/48, with a guaranteed 2/24. And after that first year, if someone else comes along that the Sox like more at 1B you could deal Konerko who would have $14M and 1 year remaining on his contract along with 2 option years, a team would be willing to take that on.- sox, cubs talking today?
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) hmmmm....... i remember bringing this topic up earlier in the season...how the sox & cubs should help each other...boy how i got slammed then! F me! Produce a link. I'd love to see how you were slammed.- Official Game Thread 9/2
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) Iguchi drove in 2 with a single last night, too. And Willie went 2 for 3.- Konerko a finalist for Hank Aaron Award
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) I'm fine with $12M a year pauly. I just don't want to give him a long term deal. I know he won't stand up to the wear and tear of 162+ games for much longer. 2 years with mutual options for 3 and 4 would be fine with me. Noting guaranteed beyond 2 though. What I'm thinking is along with a $12M per would be atleast 4 years. If it were 2 years $24M, I might just pull the trigger. - White Sox play the NL Central
