  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) My prediction is whoever wins the game Garland vs Colon has the best shot to win the cy young. What if Kelvim Escobar pitches instead of Colon?
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) No. I believe the red sox were the last to do so with nomar and pedro. What you are talking about is this... Pedro was on Montreal in '97.
  3. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) Reds: Griffey expected to play again this season http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=fanb...nball&type=lgns I'm shocked. There was no way in hell he was gonna miss the rest of the year.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) When does the voting happen in relation to the playoffs? (Seriously...even if guys aren't supposed to vote based on the playoffs, ARow out there playing vacuum cleaner in CF for a few games is probably enough to put him in people's minds) Am I the only one that sees Rowand as a possible god in the postseason. I just see him stepping up and playing out of his mind in the playoffs, with his bat, glove and baserunning. He's our most clutch player right now (great RISP #s) and I just see him as being a big game player, hell he's hit 3 of his 12 HRs against the Red Sox this season.
  5. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) I'm willing to bet that you will be surprised when they are announced. It's called not getting your hopes up. I'm hoping he can get his just due but if I start thinking it's a possibility I'll probably be dissapointed when the GGs are announced.
  6. I just don't think Rowand is popular enough to win one yet. Vernon Wells and Ichiro will likely win GGs this year, I just don't see Rowand getting the necessary National Attention, even with his unbelievable Yankee series. The 3rd GG could go to Kotsay, who sadly, is more nationally well known than Row.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) If memory serves, he was actually pretty fast before he destroyed his knees. And I do believe that inside the park HR was in fact a grand slam.
  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) Can anyone guess the other speed demon that previously had a inside the park homerun before konerko? Try not looking it up. Karko.
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) Hopefully he'll add a gold glove to his list of achievements this year I highly doubt it.
  10. You're going to want to lessen the size of the file. The pic is currently over 600 KBs. That'll take a while for some computers to download.
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) I am back. For how long?
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) I Aaron I love Aaron more. You have Willie in your sig, I have Row. I win.

  14. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) I think Contreras should be our 4th guy in my opinion. And I would favor not having McCarthy on the playoff roster just because I think the other guys we have had worked pretty well most of the year. But if Hermanson can't go, then sure, let's see what McCarthy can do. Jenks, Cotts, Marte, Politte, Vizciano all deserve to be on the post season roster. Viz, not so much. I'm 1000X more comfortable seeing BMac than Viz. Which sounds insane.
  15. QUOTE(JuiceCruz16 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) She let her real feelings slip out thats all. Not a surprise she feels that way, just that she said it out loud. Screw her and her ilk!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention that this is 3 quoted lines from NPR.
  16. Actually, Contreras was pretty ineffective out of the pen for the Yankees in the playoffs.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) Dont be jealous. It's hardly jealousy.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) ah, there you go. Which, if I am not retarded, that he is a player that doesnt come around very often. I wouldnt trade him for any pitcher. Trade your prospect, trade your other players, but not Tex, he is a stud. Plus he's a switch hitter and plays damn good defense at 1B. He's going to make some money this offseason but that doesn't mean they'll dump him.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) NOT camp Randall, it is a much superior stadium....I will give you a hint, it is shaped like a horseshoe... edit, sorry that pic was WAYYYY too big, http://www.slagshouseofstats.com/OSU%20Foo...ftGame22Min.jpg linky. Oh how I hate the Buckeyes.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Not to be utterly obvious, but not many teams would trade a player that gets to 100 hr's in his first three seasons. I believe A-rod and Pujols were the last two to do that. Tex is a perennial star player, and moving him just because there is a prospect "waiting" is just the way that a team turns into a joke. Pujols was the last to do it and before him, I don't remember who but it was from the 50's. A-Rod had 142 ABs in '95 which counts as a full season and he only hit 5 HRs that year, so he's not on the list. Only 5 players have accomplished this feat IIRC.
