  1. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) "Shut up Ross. See you in Milwaukee next year, you whining wuss!" He was whining about playing time when he was called up. For some reason he feels Ross will be playing in Milwaukee next year, which is just about impossible (Prince Fielder). Calling him a wuss is hardly an attack and he's telling him to shut up becuase he was whining. Also he made this post thinking that Ross made the throw home, when in fact it was Tadahito Iguchi.
  2. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) "what about this loser who should not be wearing a major league uniform?" Um, ok. I'm pretty sure he's calling him a loser because he sucks on the field and in some people's eyes he shouldn't be in the big leagues.
  3. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) I wasn't sure where this rant fell under the new "Personal Attacks" guidelines. Just trying to be helpful and weed out free thinking members of Soxtalk. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39261 He didn't attack any player personally, he attacked their play on the field.
  4. I do not give a s*** about Buehrle and the Cy Young Award. IMO that boat sailed after his loss at home to Santana.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) Has Blum helped us win any games? He could have won tonight's game at the plate and didn't. He just hasn't done anything. Util players aren't going to win you many games. There were 8 other guys with a chance to win the game tonight and failed. That's hardly a reason to dislike a player.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) It wasn't a bad game even. He was 1 for 5. He hit the ball hard 4 out of his 5 ABs.
  7. I know they're not perfect but I made a few Smileys. Texas: Illinois: Chicago:

QUOTE(lord chas @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) yep borchard should have pinch hit for dye. if ozzie wouldnt use him why even bring him up Why would you pinch hit a player like Borchard for one of your best hitters?
  9. He really shouldn't even be off 1B on that play. Gooch is the winning run at second, Carl is pretty meaningless. If that ball is fielded on a hop it's an easy DP, if it gets through, Gooch scores and the game is over.
  10. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 10:02 PM) What's Jenks' nickname? Bad Bobby Jenks
  11. This is gonna stick too. When Hawk gives you a nickname, it stays with you for your Baseball life.
  12. Bobby Jenks now officially has a nickname.
  13. From now on he shall be known as "Bad Bobby Jenks"

Pitcher: Garland/Hermanson Hitter: Konerko Overall: Konerko

People may hate him but the guy hits the ball hard and is not a horrible offensive player. I like Geoff Blum.
  16. QUOTE(VAfan @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) If you are going to talk baseball intelligently, don't butcher the numbers. I love how you attack my credibility. It's not hard to massage numbers to make them fit your argument.
  17. QUOTE(VAfan @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) He went 6 for 12 against Texas pitching. Since then, in 9 games, he's 7 for 31, with 1 HR, 2 runs, and 4 RBI in the middle of the lineup. You still think he's "hot"?? Uribe and Konerko. They are hot. If you are going to talk baseball intelligently, don't butcher the numbers. Or how about he was hot over an 11 game span but has cooled off the past 2 games. Aug. 28 - Sept. 6 (11 gms): 16-41 (.390 BA) HOT Aug. 28 - Aug. 31 (5 gms): 9-20 (.450 BA) HOT Sept. 1 - Sept. 6 (6 gms): 7-21 (.333 BA) HOT Sept. 7 - Sept. 8 (2 gms): 0-8 (.000 BA) COLD
  18. QUOTE(VAfan @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) You missed the point, obviously. What is your measure of someone who's "hot"? .329 batting average over 13 games when he was previously hitting .270 before that stretch.
  19. Rowand is 16 for his last 49 (.327 BA). He's walked 24 times all season, he hasn't shown great plate discipline this year, I don't expect him to start taking walks all of a sudden.
  20. QUOTE(VAfan @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) He's 7 for 29 with 2 walks in September. When did that become "hot"?? That is awful. Ross Gload went 45 for 107 in AAA in August with 7 HRs, 14 2Bs, 24 runs scored and 24 RBI. That's hot. That's AAA
  21. QUOTE(VAfan @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Maybe I should have put the "leg kick" in green. But "hot of late"??? Who are you watching. He's got a .266 OBP in the month of August, and its bumped all the way up to .290 in September. That sucks. Check his game log. He's hot.
  22. Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow.
  23. Actually the postseason rotation will not be a dilemma for Ozzie at all. He'll pitch the hottest guys at the moment in the playoffs and in an order that will set them up for the best chance to win.
  24. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) We are Bears fans arent we? Are we really in position to trash talk We were good in '01 and we won the Super Bowl in '85. Yeah, you're right, we don't have much to hang our hats on.
