  1. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) My depth chart would look something like: 1) Blake 2) Kittner 3) Orton Let's actually do this thing the right way. Groom Orton for a year and let him compete for the starting job in 06'-07'. Sorry, fellas, but he ain't going to have a year like Big Ben in Pittsburgh. No way in hell I start Blake, just because of his performance yesterday. He looked like absolute s*** to me and he kept smiling which pissed me off. Lets just go for it with Orton, most people don't feel that we're going to compete this season anyway, why not have the best QB go out there and play. He may be a rookie and he's going to make mistakes but he appears to be the best quarterback on the team right now. If they start Blake I won't be upset but I'd much rather see Orton.
  2. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) It's funny how Angelo's 3rd-6 round picks are always more quality than his 1st or 2nd rounders. 2001: Rd Sel# Player Pos. The '03 draft appears to be his best, with the jury still out on Wade and Gage. Briggs, Tillman and Scott are all starting on defense and producing.
  3. The Bears will have the #1 defense in the NFL this season. On paper if you look at the D, it has the ability, comming into the season I felt they had a great defense and now after watching the first 4 preseason games. I'm positive this a top 3 defense, if they can stay healthy, #1. A. Brown, Scott/Boone/Johnson, Harris (Future Pro-Bowl DT), Ogunleye (beast) Briggs (great compliment to Brian), Urlacher (4 time Pro-bowler, it's unbelievable how people question his abilities), Hillenmeyer Tillman (Future Pro-Bowl CB, just ask Randy Moss), M. Brown (All-Pro SS, emotional leader of the D), M. Green (Extremely underrated, just look at his career stats), Azumah/Vasher
  4. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) whats even funnier is that the white sox just sent a huge F U to jeremy reed. anderson with a huge game had to have reminded reed why the sox traded reed in the first place. helluva job brian From Baseball America, talking about Brian Anderson:
  5. We've got our 2 kickass rookies going for the stretch run. Jenks will make the playoff roster and more than likely we'll be seeing BA on there as well. In recent history rookies have come up huge for teams in September and in the playoffs, it doesn't hurt having a kickass rookie closer and what seems to be a pretty good OFer out there as well.
  6. Nice bunt, something a lot of guys on this team can't accomplish.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) If there was ever a game for Anderson to not start, it's against Felix. If Anderson struggles to hit Radke's 91 mph fastball, then I wouldn't like his chances against 96-98 mph heater. We would have been shutout without BA.
  8. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) He'll be the right fielder for the Braves next season. Book it. He may want to play for the Braves but the Braves don't seem all that interested in him. He'll play in Houston next year.
  9. QUOTE(supersuicidedoll @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) Hes young...give him time before he can master a 4th pitch His slider is his best pitch. He's just not allow to throw it in games because of how young he is, they don't want to risk injuring his arm.
  10. Felix Hernandez got roughed up in ST and... Brandon McCarthy shut everyone down in ST. ST means s***. This team needs to show patience at the plate against a rookie. They're going to have to battle and every now and then sit on a pitch.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) I really think if Hutchenson isn't the starting QB of the Bears, that it won't be Orton either... Kurt Kittner
  12. You just love Marcelle Script, don't you?
  13. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) This is why I have been looking forward to the game as well. I want to see him pitch. You lucky lucky person. Tommorrow will be the first time I get to see him pitch, and I can't wait. His major league debut kinda sucked. It wasn't on MLB Extra Innings and MLB.tv was f***ed up, the only view they had was from behind homeplate at Comerica. You still got the full effect of what he was pitching though. Luckily both of his starts against Min were on MLB Extra Innings as was the one against KC.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) He can go mesmerise you against some other team But now I get to here Hawk talk about how he's not as good as some of the pitchers he saw in his day, though he will say "this kid is gonna be something special". DJ will be absolutely droolling over Felix' curveball, not to mention his 95 MPH fastball that acts as a sinker and his ridiculous change that cuts 15 MPH off of his fastball with phenominal movement, how could I forget his 4 seemer that he throws 97 MPH with movement in on RHB and movement in on a LHB both with pin-point control. 2 years from now we'll see that slider, which is his best pitch.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) I'm not sure about that, this game is scary..... This is going to sound bad but... Even though most likely the Sox will not win tomorrow and will most likely be shutout by a rookie, I'm still looking forward to seeing him pitch. I've seen all of his starts so far this year and I am mesmerised. King Felix is absolutely sick, it will be a pleasure to see him pitch tomorrow.
  16. If you guys put up a paypal, I'd donate without question.
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) Watch at midnite tonite on Comedy Central. Stewart goes off about the war like I've never seen him do before.... Kinda the reason why I stopped watching...
  18. NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! TOMORROW IS AUGUST 26TH!!!!! This is not good. There has to be a set game thread starter. There is a curse, it is very real.
  19. QUOTE(heirdog @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) You trot Buerhle out there *period* You don't want to send a message that you're down on him as the post season starts. Also, you're guaranteed 6 innings and that can allow the bullpen to relax with any Game 1 jitters and the current 5th starter can work if Buerhle gets in trouble. Garland next...with his sinker, it would be good to have a ground ball pitcher in the launching pad known as the Cell. If we're playing the yanks, maybe Contreras. Freddy on the road is a great call and it will be the pivotal game 3 to go up 3-0, take control 2-1 or stop the bleeding if we're down 0-2. Then big game Duque or Garland (if you used Contreras already) to close it out, keep the mo, or tie it up. That way, if there is game seven, you can go with Garcia or big game Duque. This is the absolute worst way to go about things. You don't just have Buehrle pitch game one because he's the "Ace" of the staff. You go by who's hot comming into the playoffs and more importantly you look at the matchup. Ozzie has already said it himself, if the Sox make the playoffs Buehrle is by no means a "lock" to start the first game, Ozzie will take the sensible approach. Buehrle, as well as the rest of the club IMO would not be affected by Ozzie "showing that he's down on Buehrle" by starting someone else in game one.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) I think after his numbers have TANKED in the new park, he probably has zero desire to resign there and told the Padres as much His numbers have not tanked. His power numbers are down this season but his overall numbers have not "tanked".
  21. QUOTE(GoSoxGo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) To be more specific, the Indians' key position players are mostly young... Coco Crisp Victor Martinez Jhonny Peralta Grady Sizemore These 4 guys are all good, young players. We have Uribe and Crede as our young position players. Are Uribe and Crede even close to any of these guys offensively? Rowand?
  22. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) With the subtitle thing, we only took two out of three. The Sox have won 3 or their last 4 games.
