QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) Juggs, did you make that list up yourself or is that a link? That's all Juggs.

Luol's wrist better, grew an inch over the summer

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) VERY good news. A healthy Luol and a healthy Eddy propel the Bulls to the EC Finals last year IMO. Past Miami in the second round? I don't think so. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) I know. Well, atleast you know. That's a start.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) By the way, I swear to god this is true, last night I had a dream about acquiring Overbay and yes I know that's sad. :headshake You're pathetic.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) I think the real question is: Would Huff/Overbay over Everett help more than Burnett/Schmidt over Contreras? I say no, but then again we would have Huff or Overbay for more than just this season which may not be the case for Burnett. If we were able to swing for one of each, the dream would continue... I think Konerko at DH and Overbay at 1B with Everett off the bench would be a ridiculous upgrade over what we currently have more so than Burnett over Contreras.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Here's a question: would you give up the same amount for Huff as was proposed for Burnett (Marte & McCarthy)? And would that be enough in the minds of Tampa Bay? I say yes and no. Tampa Bay would want WAY more than McCarthy and Marte.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) those look nice. are you just copying other caps and putting them on the players heads... or are you changing the color of their caps and adding the sox logo? He's changing the color of the hat and adding the same sox logo to every one.

Peter Gammons is a f***ing moron. How does he get away with this s***. A.J. BURNETT WAS HURT IN 2003, HE DID NOT PITCH IN THE POSTSEASON. HE HAS ABSOLUTLY NO POSTSEASON EXPERIENCE. That is just disgraceful.

QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 01:11 PM) Little bit more info: http://www.timesonline.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=14920433&BRD=2305&PAG=461&dept_id=478568&rfi=6 Thus, there has been speculation the Chicago White Sox could become involved in a three-team trade with the Pirates and Marlins. The White Sox have two top outfield prospects at Class AA Birmingham - Ryan Sweeney and Chris Young - and could package one of those along with left-handed reliever Damaso Marte in a deal with the Marlins for right-hander A.J. Burnett. The Marlins would then send Sweeeny or Young to the Pirates for Redman. July 31st couldn't get here soon enough! I am drained with all of these speculations... Sweeney and Marte for Burnett. :) :) :D :D

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) right because everyone wants Mesa and Baez. I believe that if this deal for Burnett happens than KW will probably talk to shingo and say "look homey, we just traded marte to the marlins and we need another reliever, if you report to charlotte than baring something very surprising happening you have a 99% chance to be called up very soon." Shingo is not a replacement for Marte. IMO you have seen Shingo pitch in a White Sox uni for the last time.

QUOTE(sweatpants @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) I have been a White Sox fan the last 20 years and my favorite player since 1990 was Frank Thomas. I collected all his cards and magazine covers, but I don't know if this has been discussed before, but doesn't it seem like when Frank is hitting well, no injuries are bothering him. When he isn't hitting well, then his injuries are nagging him. There was a article in Sports Illustrated a while back hinting Pete Sampras would try to fake in an injury in the middle of a match he's losing in a scapegoat ploy to losing to lesser foe. I do know Frank is hurt, but could he be embelishing it a little bit because he's hitting so bad(average wise)? I hate you.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) ESPN insider Fish hooked? Jul 26 - According to South Florida Sun-Sentinel, a Marlins scout was in Syracuse, N.Y., over the weekend, where top White Sox pitching prospect Brandon McCarthy tossed six strong innings for Triple-A Charlotte. McCarthy, 22, has been mentioned frequently as a key cog in a White Sox offer for A.J. Burnett. He is just 3-7 with a 5.17 ERA this year in the minors, but reports on the 6- foot-7 strikeout artist remain strong. The top hitters on the Charlotte roster include outfielders Brian Anderson, the White Sox's top prospect, and Joe Borchard, a former No. 1 overall draft pick. Maybe they want Borch!

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) Pretty much. In our case, the Marlins and Sox have similar bases for the jerseys. Both white, with black pinstripes, and a black undershirt. Randa would be a BIT more challenging as they had to change the undershirt color from red to dark blue and the hat as well. Actually it's not all that hard. Hell I switched Hunter to a Sox jersey, Halladay to a Sox jersey and the toughest of all Vlad to a Sox jersey.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) I think he has 15 HR right now. Yeah he's at 15/53 right now.
-
QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) If the Marlins want a starter, why don't they accept Jose Contreras from the Sox as the core of a deal? He's better than Bronson Arroyo right now, he's Cuban, and he could do very well for them down the stretch. If they demand Marte as part of the deal, I could live with that too, though we would than have to try to find a lefty reliever. KENNY, DON'T BLINK. Contreras + Marte is much more than Boston is going to offer, no matter how much Peter Gammons waxes on about Anibel Sanchez, who is only a AA pitcher. I don't want to include Jose Contreras in any deal for A.J. Burnett. Contreras has to be kept for depth, and is actually a very similar pitcher to Burnett.

QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) Michael Young is a 30/100 player. He is the real deal along with Hank Blalock. The only problem with that is he's never had a season of 30/100. He had one season of 22 HRs and 99 RBI but other than that he's never hit more than 15 HRs in a season and has never had more than 72 RBI. I would call him more of a 20/85 or 20/90 guy, not 30/100.

um. no

This is not the way we create a White Sox winner thread.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) That's the same thread. I suck.

1B - Ross Gload DH - Paul Konerko OF/DH - Carl Everett

They have Ian Kinsler in the minors. He's about ready, so I guess if they felt as if they were out of it they could trade him. A more likely situation would be trading Soriano and moving Young back to 2B.
-
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) They probably did, but the b**** don't want to leave. They should stash steroids in his gymbag to get him off the team. This means Baltimore is back in it for Burnett. They don't wanna go after Burnett until they find someone to take on Ponson's contract.

This changes the dynamic of the trade market. per rotoworld: ESPN Reporting
