  1. Relying on the Indians for a comeback rally is like asking Dwayne Wise to hit 2 homers in a game, it's not going to happen. Looks like we'll only be a game up on the Twins after tonight, at least the Tigers lost though.
  2. I wish I could see these uniforms in action.
  3. Let's even the series tonight.
  4. OKC Cylcones doesn't sound too bad to me, neither does the Outlaws. I'd personally go with the Oklahoma Panhandlers, haha. Side note: When I was in high school we had to form our own government and just to be different from everyone else, we decided to kind of do a parliament that had 5 presidents. Breaking up the country in a NE, SE, SW, NW on locations and a "Wild Card" which would be an At-Large basically. And we sent all of our convicts to the Oklahoma panhandle. Question: Anyone know if they will be called the Oklahoma City _________ or the Oklahoma _________?
  5. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 05:54 PM) Best estimates are 1 in 333 live to reproduce, back on the same section of beach. I was thinking as a fundraiser they should have painted numbers on the back and taken bets. There was also concerns about the gulls that were circling. yeah well maybe if they would evolve to grow some real legs they might reproduce more, haha
  6. On Saturday I went on a 75 mile bike ride. I went through Orchard and saw the grain bins where that picture was taken, so that was pretty cool.
  7. QUOTE (Swishin' Aint Easy @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 10:58 PM) I'd almost rather split up Thome and Konerko with Swisher. That way the sloths are stuck together on the base path haha I was just going for the Left, Right, Left (assuming it's a right handed pitcher against Swisher) matchup.
  8. I know Thigpen was with the Sox when he broke the record but it was before my time. It's nice seeing records by former Sox players but I also think it'd be cool to see someone break it, preferably Bobby Jenks but that won't happen this year.
  9. Great Win. These kinds of wins never get old.
  10. Yes I want him back in the lineup. I know Wise has done some good things in the lineup but I do not expect them to continue, in fact his numbers have dropped a bit with limited at bats. Anderson has had two clutch hits, but I still do not trust someone with the batting average he has. I know Konerko also has a terrible batting average thus far, but I expect him to pick it up when he comes back from the DL. I wish Konerko would change his hitting approach back to focusing on line drives as he did with our powerful lineups from 2000-2002, but he was also batting lower in the lineup at the time. When he comes back there is now way I want him batting 3, 4, or 5 regularly until he can pick himself up. I'd like the lineup like this: 1. Cabrera 2. Pierzynski 3. Quentin 4. Dye 5. Thome 6. Konerko 7. Swisher 8. Crede 9. Ramirez
  11. haha do you suppose Ozzie put Russell in because he got the win last night, so we can try to do the same thing again?
  12. Sizemore always hits homers against us. Let's win this one right here.
  13. I'm guessing the Twins are almost always on the overperforming part, so it'd be nice if they tailed off but I'm not going to hold my breath for it.
  14. The Twins won today so let's play and win tonight.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) Damn, even Mike waited 1-3 years before flip-flopping. Favre couldn't even make it four months. Not surprised about Favre one bit.
  16. I should've voted for this to give my props to WKRP in Cincinnati. I love that show.
  17. QUOTE (mreye @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 10:14 AM) I respect the Twins and am glad they are doing well. The Sox play best when the pressure's on - makes 'em keep their games faces on. I have a hard time admitting to respecting the Twins but I do. I probably watch a 100 Twins games a year, which people would think I should be a Twins fan, but I always root against them instead.
  18. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) Some kid sitting front row behind plate, looked like he was on adarol the whole game. haha no kidding, I noticed him the first batter of the game.
  19. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) I don't know if it's because we're playing the Cubs, but this is the most nervous I've been all year. With the way the Twins and Tigers are playing, I don't care who we play, as long as we win, but yes this game seems more nerveracking than other games.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) It's one run. It can't cost us more than the shutout. Come on Mark, time to bail out your defense a bit. it would if a 3 run homer is hit this inning or a 2 out rally.
  21. 1st and 3rd 1 out with Blanco to the plate, this isn't good.
