OK, now 5 games out.

1 week ago this team was in first, now this team is 5 games out pending a Twins win. Has this ever happened before?

This team is showing hardly any sign of life. After a great catch by Konerko, what happens, a walk to lose the game. Let him hit the damn ball for crying out loud. I don't care of it's one of the hottest hitter in the league, throw a strike.

With out giving up anything for a guy like Olerud, it is a nice pick up. Obviously he wasn't cutting it this year in Seattle. But the guy plays ball the way Torre likes. And he's a decent defensive player. With Giambi out, he'll be given a chance to play a bit, along with Tony Clark.

according to Harold Reynolds. It's a decent pick up for the Yankees. You can always use a guy with a nice stick to come in and pinch hit. Obviously they are thinking World Series.

I don't doubt that Conteras has better stuff than Loaiza. I just don't know if he uses the stuff that he has as well as Loaiza. I was all for this trade until I saw his ERA. I didn't think it'd be that high. He has had a better last few months though.

It sounds like Scott wasn't involved in the trade and good thing too. If we were going to trade for 2 starting pitchers, we had better get back 2 pitchers.

I say the real winner in this trade is Orlando Cabrera. He gets out of Montreal which is always a plus.
