  1. And Delucci gets the gun trying to steal 2nd base. 1 down, Mench up to bat. ... Ugh, meatball given up to Mench. 1-0 Texas.
  2. OUCH! Yea I remember hearing all about Ramirez last year, he was a beast. Ensberg definitely had a drop off last year compared to 2003. This year they're counting on him a lot more - Bags is down and Berkman just came back and is struggling. They even have Biggio batting third! Morgan's been hitting in the 5 or 6 spot lately, and if Lance keeps struggling I can see Ensberg taking the cleanup spot for a while. With Tavaras putting together a nice rookie season, they have the luxury of moving Biggio down in the order. With Willy leading off and Palmeiro second, Biggio, Berkman, and Ensberg makes a nice set of hitters to drive in runs. The only problem is, Biggio has hit all his HR in Houston. Ensberg is pretty good on the road though, just a slight drop off from playing at home. We'll see how long it takes for Berkman to regain his power and consistency.
  3. Morgan Ensberg (3B) of the Houston Astros hit 3 HR vs. the Giants tonight. His first was a 3-run shot in the 1st, and he added 2 more solo HRs, one in the 5th and his third in the 7th. When my 3B went down this week, I had 2 or 3 3B to decide between to replace him, and I chose Ensberg. Umm, Rolen who???
  4. Yea I'm confused too; not sure what you're looking for.
  5. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 15, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) Scotty "All-Star" Podsednik .278 AVG .391 OBP 0 HR 10 RBI 23 SB 21 BB 12 SO Horrible, just HORRIBLE! How can we win with such a loser in the leadoff position?!?!
  6. Yea Pauly has definitely been a liability today. The pitching and offense have done well to cover for him for a while, but yesterday and today the Sox definitely needed him and he hasn't come through.
  7. The last news I can find about Sirotka was he was a non-roster invitee to the Cubs 2 years ago. Mike Caruso was with Seattle, Tampa Bay, Cincinnati, and Kansas City after his stint with the White Sox. He hasn't been seen on a baseball diamond since becoming a FA in October 2002.
  8. Ahhh. For giving the infield groundball practice.
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 14, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) I'll make a wager that he is the funniest poster we have around here bar none. Funniest? I dunno, you haven't seen me go off yet! Most entertaining? Quite possibly!
  10. I'l like to make a wager that when the Sox lose, a big ole vein sticks out on NUKE's forehead because he can't tell the other team to EAT s***!
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 14, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) 1) Fungo batting practice -- That's where a coach stands and hits fungos. LOL WTF is a "fungo"????
  12. Even though he's scuffling, I really like many of the at-bats Pauly is taking. He's showing great patience while trying to work through his slump. That's the second day in a row he's gone 0-2, but taken 3 BB. The power will come, the power will come... Ugly game all around. Let's get 'em tomorrow!
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxjr27 @ May 14, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) i will take three out of four anytime. 100% agree....unless it's vs. the Twinkies
  14. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 14, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) Is he trying to take Lemon's place in the 3 year plan? I dunno, I just thank God he was *hitting* AJ's glove!
  15. Oh God, Ozzie's putting Viz in, presumably to "stop the bleeding". :banghead :banghead :banghead
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxjr27 @ May 14, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) is this the first game we have given up 9 runs? i dont recall if we did or not. We gave up 11 vs. Cleveland on 4/7. And on 4/26 we gave up 9 to Oakland.
  17. His aim may be off, but man is he snapping the leather!
  18. If it helps, Kenny Rogers got a CGSO vs. the Twins in Minnesota. Texas won 5-0.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 14, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) Freddy seems to get lacksadaisical(sp?) when he gets a big lead. He's got the stuff and the command to shut the opposition down, he just gets 'lazy' (for lack of a better word). You were close: lackadaisical I'd have to agree. Perhaps he gets too overconfident that he doesn't have to be so precise. Remember, when we got him from Seattle he had to be near-perfect for the Mariners to even have a slight chance to win. Now that he's on a great team he may get sloppy on the mound.
  20. It's all my fault. My pitchers seem to wax and wane as a group and for the past week all my pitchers have stunk (except for Kenny Rogers). I've got 4 pitchers going today/tonight - Chacin lasted a whole 2.1 innings due to rain, Freddy and Kenny now, and Wade Miller later. So if you want to blame anyone, blame me.
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 14, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) I was offered Carl Crawford and Tino Martinez for Albert Pujols and Milton Bradley. Oh man stop that, my sides hurt from laughing so hard!
  22. End of the 7th, Rockies are up 18-3. I think they hit like, a gazillion homers or something. They scored 9 runs in the 7th. On one hand I kind of wish our hitters were playing there. On the other hand, I'm damn glad we rarely ever go there!
  23. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ May 13, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) and I like hearing clutch + any sox player. Hmm, yea, I concur!
