QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) Wow talk about a s***ty team. "Pfft" says the Lord to the heathens

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) I'm sick of the gangster/thug s***. Seeing these clowns with their hat sideways just makes me think they are idiots. Our whole society is full of this crap. I think this is one of the most enlightening, not to mention true, things I've read on a message board in quite a long time.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) Pretty sure Percival is closing in Detroit, and that BJ Ryan has the upperhand in Baltimore...so some saves are probably needed. Yea I've been looking into that, not good not good. Hope I can pick up at least one sure closer in FA/trade.

QUOTE(soxhawks @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) i get- buerhle, craig monroe lose- harden, olivo IMO .... in a FREAKIN' HEARTBEAT! While both Monroe and Olivo are FAs in my league, the Buehrle/Harden swap is even, if not leaning in favor of Mark. Comparing Monroe to Olivo, Monroe blows Mig's numbers out of the water, but Mig has a great upside. I guess it depends if you can afford to lose a starting catcher to pick up one more OF. -
QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) This is my first post here guys so I'm lookin forward to a great 05 season.... But my favorite line by Hawk was definitely a year or two back when they showed a baby eating and Hawk said, "I luv Num-Nums.." Haha I remember that one! Not the funniest but the one I like the best (because it's just so atypical of a hick like Hawk): "I loooooove email!" Btw, welcome!

QUOTE(silver and black @ Mar 5, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) in... Thank you for joining s&b, welcome to league 7, and good luck to you! -
Well as usual, we had a team drop out at the very last minute, leaving us with 9 teams. Our live draft is tonight at 7:30 EST (4:30 PST). Follow the link below to get the details for joining the league. It would be best if we had an even number of teams (10 or 12) so no one is on a bye during any given week. Thanks! http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30037

Boy, I'm gettin' lots of love tonight And I concur, Leo was da shizznit of the Toitles!

I noticed the draft time has changed. There's no way I can do 7:30am. Evenings are much better for me. 5:00pm EST would be perfect; later would be acceptable too. March 5 might be a bit too early too; we could have it March 12 too.

Let's do this!

IMO Maggs got brainwashed by Bora$$. Bora$$ is now his patron Devil; Maggs will listen to and repeat whatever he tells him. For all the years of supporting Maggs while he was a Soutthsider, I say stick it up your agent's ass coated in lemonjuice, you ungrateful, money-grubbing, brainwashed, malcontent. We don't need you, we don't want you, but the best thing of all? We're gonna own the Tigers this year, mark my words! (Disclaimer: The Sox BETTER own the Tigers this year or I'll have a healthy plate of crow to eat!)

Congrats Paulie on the dual distinction! Hope to see more of it on the Southside in the years to come!

Nice to see Mr. Underappreciated finally get the credit he deserves. Good work this year Mark, and may you have many many more as a White Sox! (1 for each CG) And (for your 1 SO) And a BIG for your 245.1 IP

I think Aaron fits better into a "breakout season" type of award. While I love what he's done with the chance he's been given by Ozzie this year, I don't think you can make a claim that he was the MVP. I voted for my namesake of course, but it was a tough call between he and Konerko. Pauly definitely should win Comeback Player of the Year, and he's putting up MVP-like numbers. He really stepped up when we lost Frank and Maggs. Between Paul, Carlos, and Aaron, the loss of our two top hitters was softened quite a bit. And with Frank getting along in years and Maggs more than likely on his way out, I like the prospects of our future without them. Plus with the change in direction the team wants to take, we found a diamond in the rough and got increased value from a player we may end up trading away.

Don't forget though that Pujols can play 4 positions - first, left, right, and third. He could easily go back to the outfield (left field). That would make the Cards' lineup something like this: 1B - Konerko (39 HR, 1 SB ROFLMAO) 2B - Womack (5 HR, 23 SB) SS - Renteria (10 HR, 16 SB) 3B - Rolen (33 HR, 4 SB) LF - Pujols (44 HR, 5 SB), backup - Sanders (22 HR, 21 SB) CF - Edmonds (42 HR, 7 SB) RF - Walker (15 HR, 6 SB in 70 games this year) C - Matheny (5 HR, 0 SB) If Walker walks, Pujols or Sanders could go to right and not miss a beat. That's a freakin' SICK lineup!

Holy crap, an EIGHT run second inning for the White Sox, on the road, on the WEST COAST?!?! Where the hell did that come from? Last time I checked the ESPN2 update it was 1-1, then I took my dog out to the backyard for a while. Nice work Sox, keep it up! Oh and Aaron, I want a homer tonight!
-
I have only three words to say, and they are all a part of this post. Who can figure out what those three words are? Aside from the above: Go Sox! Taking 3 of 4 from Texas in their house!
-
But he's a GREAT clubhouse leader! :banghead

Wow. I just came over to post about how we were being 2-hit through almost 5 innings by a dude with an ERA over 6 and a BAA over .300. Thanks Big Ben for saving me!

ARow scores on a Kong GIDP, and Jurassic Carl hits a dinger. Sox lead 2-1.
-
I think the reason the two graphs are so skewed is because of a lack of consistency. Clutch hitting is all fine and dandy, but neither of those graphs speak about the amount of runs the Sox have scored on a game-by-game basis. Remember, the White Sox have scored 10+ runs 20 (or more) times this season. It then goes to reason that we're getting baserunners home (high # of hits with RISP). However to contrast, the offense can go completely anemic for long stretches, thus producing a low OBP. Consistent clutch hitting and getting baserunners has been this team's problem for most of the year. When they hit, EVERYONE hits and they put up lots of runs. When they're not hitting NO ONE hits or scores runs. Lack of consistency, in my opinion, is the reason the two graphs show such disparaging numbers for the White Sox.

Just because I wanna take credit for the name, but I don't really mean it... "Shingo Ta-choke-su" ™ There, I even trademarked it, so if you wanna use it you gotta get my permission first, and if I grant it, you gotta pay me royalties on a per-use basis
