I...I...I... I think I'm gonna cry I'm so happy. Miguel who?
-
Thanks
-
Who hit him, Valentin or Uribe? Who is his replacement?
-
So much for the theory that this team hits better in the warmer months. My feet hurt, I think I'm gonna sit down the rest of the way. I've been standing and waiting for something to happen for too long and my tootsies can't take the abuse any longer.

I strongly doubt Loaiza was tipping his pitches. The reasons are pretty clear as to why his was as ineffective this year as he was dominant last year to last to anyone who watched him pitch in both seasons: He lost about 4-5 MPH off his velocity and couldn't figure out where it went or how to get it back (I have my suspicions) He didn't throw inside nearly as much last year. He pitched inside fearlessly last year, whereas this year he stayed outside, outside, outside He lost confidence in his cutter, because he thought opposing batters were always looking for it. The cutter coupled with higher velocity were the reasons he succeeded last year So, lower velocity, staying away from the inside of the plate, and dismissing your best pitch will typically lead to the kind of season Loaiza was having for us this year.

For the next 3 games he was lights out. Then in the past two starts he got rocked, thus prompting GMs to consider that he was tipping his pitches. The Sox believe they've figured out how to correct this and if Coop can do with Jose what he can't seem to do with the rest of the pitching staff, we will have a dominant starting three in Buehrle, Garcia, and Contreras. Contreras has dominating stuff, with his fastball hitting mid- to high 90s MPH. His strikeouts-to-walks ratio this year is nearly 2-1 with 82 Ks and 42 Ws. In his 6 July starts he has a 27-11 strikeout-to-walk ratio, approxmately a 2.5-to-1 advantage. This year, lefties and righties are hitting him at about the same rate, with lefties going .242 and righties .258. His WHIP in 2004 is a bit alarming at 1.41, however he's given up fewer hits than innings pitched, at 93 hits in 95.2 innings. Jose is slated to start Tuesday for the White Sox at Kansas City. This will be his first start in 2 big league years against the Royals.

I think that hurts the most. No stars, no real power threat, just solid, unspectacular ballers. The Sox do the big-name thing each year, and Minnesota keeps winning the division, and laughing behind our backs. God, this really sucks. And to make it worse, I live in Rochester, NY, the new home of the Twinkies farm team. :puke :puke :puke

Thanks for the visual. Since I can't see the game I can't tell the mood or emotions of the players, only the reactions of you guys here when they pull their usual boneheaded stunts -

We can't get any solo HRs because we actually have baserunners! I hope someone at the park is taking pictures so they can give them to the team and hang them in the locker room to show them HOW TO PLAY THE FEKKIN' GAME FROM NOW ON!! -

Actually I think most of them are performing *to* their abilities. It's Sox management who think they are better than they really are. -

Actually, it wasn't even that long. We scored first on a Kong homer in the bottom of the second. In the top of the third, Infante doubled Logan home. Then the bottom fell out of the bucket and the next week turned into a friggin nightmare from which waking seems like a fast fading memory, like Milli Vanilli. -

Upstate - Rochester. Been a Sox fan since 1994, when I latched onto Frank Thomas as my favorite player. Another "lucky" Sox break for me as that was the last time they dominated the division before the strike that would mark the end of their AL Central reign and usher in the Injuns as the team to beat in the division -

"Luckily" for me, I'm in New York and WGN has stopped broadcasting Sox games. It's been like a month since I've actually been able to watch a live Sox game. That isn't necessarily a bad thing :puke I've just been over here wallowing in my misery alone this past week. Hopefully they can turn things around before it's too late. -

Miguel who? Go Big Ben! (sorry if dropping that name caused anyone trauma here )
-
Ahh yes, I had forgotten the "instant classic" Jamie Navarro sound bites. I change my vote from "Guy" Ritchie to Navarro too.
-
Todd Ritchie
-
And that is exactly why we don't intimidate the Twins and they win the division every year. Same thing with Cleveland when they ruled the Central.

Here's where Borchard can start his legacy... ...waiting...

Oh no you dont! By virtue of the phrasing, I want someone to take ME up on that bet
