  1. Twins with two strikes = their hitters shorten up, think other way and up the middle. Why they lead the league in BA with RISP and 2 outs. Sox with two strikes = swing as f***ing hard as possible. This is why we have a lot of strikeouts nearly falling over with 2 strikes.
  2. I have come to the conclusion that these Minny fans, are nothing but Nordic Cub fans. Trashing their field, throwing balls back.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) I wonder during that Kubel at bat what AJ was thinking in calling an inside fastball to a dead pull hitter? Probably the same thing he was thinking when he goes away from Mauer like crazy and goes in on Morneau. The plan of attack is no plan. Either they ignore stats and trends and just chuck and duck. Or they are clueless. Your choice.
  4. Nice job s***heads. You had a chance to salvage this series. Now you f*** it up. Good job morons.
  5. Dear Whitesox pitchers. Throw f***ing strikes. Getting 2-0 on every hitter late in the game is dumb. Dear Whitesox defensive unit catch the f***ing ball.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:29 PM) I hate you Orlando Cabrera. Gold glove my ass.
  7. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 08:49 PM) Yah, I think he probably would have. How many first baseman types score on a rocket double to left when they are standing on first base. I can only see a few situations that this happens. 1.) Bat-girl blinds Q with one of her lego men. 2.) Q has bought of narcolepsy. 3.) Someone yells ball bomb, and everyone avoids the ball thrown in to the cutoff man.
  8. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) Well it woulda been 3-0 whether he pitched to him or not. Thats not much consolation however. Morneau is straight nasty. Because Wheels Morneau would of scored on the double to left if he was on first?
  9. Okay Hawk, what does Gomez, who was sitting in the dugout have to do with Danks giving up the dong to Morneau. Hawk is Santo with legs.
  10. Its like we forget who we are pitching to. We pitch away from Mauer, who goes oppo all he time then we pitch into Morneau who likes to get around on the ball. Flip the strategy guys, it might help you.
  11. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) That's it. nothing but a fossil to play CF???? The paperwork has to be filed by 3pm CST. The deals leak out over the next hour or so as they get processed. there will be more deals announced, probably not whitesox related.
  12. Poor Nick Massett. Hopefully he has mentally prepared himself for his up and coming TJ Surgery after Dusty gets ahold of him.
  13. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 10:53 PM) I think both these guys would be a waste of prospects. Get a SP or do nothing. There's really no good RHP relievers available other than maybe Houston Street. Nothing is going to happen. Kenny has probably asked Paulie what he thinks, and we are all set.
  14. QUOTE (southsidesoxfan1983 @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) did BA get traded is that why he was taking out? Brian wishes he got traded. No just in Ozzies lifelong house of hell.
  15. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) This has also been a pet peeve of my mine the last few years. It seems last year and this one, it hasn't been that bad with our organization, but in 2005-2006, it was beyond brutal. It's not even Hawk and DJ that bother me, it's Williams, Ozzie, and the players slurping the team. It's embarrassing. The only problem with the slurping is the fact that we havent seen the results. When Ozzie was hired, Kenny talked about emulating the twins baseball. And for me, that meant more about our minor league preparation. The ability to instruct our kids from Rookie ball up to play the game the right way. Hard nosed, run fast, hit to all fields, play good defense. The Twins and the As have been pretty good at teaching their kids the single message. Our minor leagues for years hasn't had a single mission. Hopefully Buddy Bell imparts that on our organization. I don't want to see kids called up, who dont know how to bunt. Can't field, don't know how to run the bases, or look lost on where to throw a ball when a play happens. This is all instruction that should of happened a while ago. If we took the time to instruct our kids like the twins do, we wouldnt hear crap about our system. The talent is there, I think however something is missing from the instruction standpoint. As I have seen comments on this board about how hard it is to change a player, but oddly the Twins year after year plug in the same type of kids and they hit the ground running. And I don't think they have the most talented minors. They just instruct well. And we should learn from that. But every year getting beat the same way, and then slurping it without any adjustments is tiring. Learn from your mistakes, and get better. I would love to see some of our hitters become tough outs tonight, concentrate on the play, run hard and get a win. Thats how you win in Minny.
  16. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 11:15 PM) No, I would prefer Owens at CF and Swisher at 1B at this point. Why you want a fast guy who doesnt get on base leading off and stagnating our offense. I would rather have Anderson. He cant hit, but man at least you know if the ball goes up, he is catching it. With our defensive issues lately, that would at least help solidify things.
  17. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 10:51 PM) Swisher and Konerko have both been awful but at least Swisher has put together a decent month making you think he's got a pulse. Swisher has been more disappointing though because he was supposed to be one of our core guys for the future. Q's been a revelation but we still have very few quality players under 30 (Q, Jenks, Alexei, Buehrle, Danks, and Floyd). Anyway, going back to Konerko, this made me chuckle (from Mark Gonzalez's mailbag): http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...1,5299442.story One of the callers on the post game show made the same comment. And Rongey said that Paulie changed his diet and is looking thinner in the face because of it. Personally I dont think Pauly was a user. I think however, he is a guy who gets so worked up over his performance that he can get himself sick.
  18. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) c'mon Paulie, break a leg, no I mean literally break a leg so Swisher can replace you full time............ One thing to wish for a player to be replaced. It another to wish physical harm to a player. Stay Classy.
  19. Its time to see Anderson in CF and Swish at first. I would rather have a guy who cant hit, but can catch everything under the sun in CF than Mr. Suicide Shrug.
  20. 9th shutout of the season. We are closing in on last years mark.
  21. So lets pitch inside, and play off the line. Good combo.
  22. QUOTE (shawnhillegas @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) He also doesn't walk people, and generally throws strikes early. So instead of attacking, we will have Fields, Ramirez, Thome and Pierzynski swinging with two strikes, which always ends poorly. Ramirez for all of his swinging doesnt K a ton. They get to 2 strikes anyways because they are swinging super hard and foul it off.
