QUOTE(Soxfest @ Sep 6, 2007 -> 02:44 PM) No I do not miss Gooch, Richar to me is a utilty infielder not a everyday 2nd baseman. I just do not see him helping longterm. And this is based on what. Besides conjecture and bulls***.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Sep 6, 2007 -> 02:40 PM) Guy has had many chances to move runners along get rbi's and has failed most of the time. And so has Uribe, AJ, Cintron, in fact check out the team. Do you miss your Gooch. Is that what this is about.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Sep 6, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) Richar is costing this team win lately His 2 for 4 and scoring the only run of the game sure cost us last night.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Sep 6, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) Jenks blows a save.. He had a little help.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Sep 6, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) I am sick of Richar Why exactly. He is a young guy, who has played some pretty good D, works a count, and has been getting better at the plate. He made an error, it happens.

I have seen it now. And basically this is what I used to see on the old playboy channel. To get to the point, one of the scenes the girl gives her man a hand party to quote Borat, and you see everything including the money shot. I am kind of surprised that this is on HBO. This was well beyond the simulated sex you see on the Cinemax/Showtime late night that are on all the time. So basically if they are showing porn on HBO, it will be an instant hit.

Granderson and his over anxious bat helped out Thornton there. 2-0 and the bases loaded, you take until you get a strike.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) I dont understand the draw of that. I mean, you have to go into a coffee shop, and then can surf the web on your ipod? Is that a huge benefit for some people. I have a treo that surfs the web everywhere on the EV-Do network, is this really that different from what this ipod will be able to do only in hotspots? The only benefit is from a speed standpoint. Wifi is faster than Ev-Do or other 3G technologies. But the problems with Wifi is the range, location of hotspots, and my favorite making sure that the "free" hotspot you are connecting through isnt a bad guy with a rougue access point intercepting your traffic. The only key for me was the 3.5 widescreen lcd, I will live with the 2.5 and the 160 Gig drive.

Floyd pitched a good game. That is from the line score, and from the actual pitches that I saw. Did he make mistakes, well sure. But all pitchers make mistakes in a pitched game. Its sometimes a few inches of a foul ball, or the quick turn on a pitch that gets popped to the track thats the difference between a great outing, and giving up 3 or 4 runs. What you want from your pitcher is to pitch ahead in the count, pitch aggressive, and try not to walk runners. You attack, and let your defense play behind you and you will be ok. The only mistake if you could call it that, was a low and away pitch to Hessman. It was a good pitch, and a good swing on a low and away pitch. The only criticism was on the pitch calling, on 2 strikes and after facing a few fastballs, I would of wanted to see Floyd go low and away with the tight curve. That is a strikeout pitch, and he should use it more. Floyd has two curveballs. A big bender and a tight curve. What you want to see when you have a pitcher with a big bender, is on two strikes to either high with a fastball to setup the big bender change of pace, or to go low and away with a tight curve. Floyd needs to keep this type of effort going the next time. Consistancy is the key to staying up here.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 02:50 PM) It doesnt make any sense because I believe that the flash mem could go up to 30 gigs. But i guess they wanted to save the size of the device. Either way im sticking with the 160 gig IPOD classic, the touch screen doesnt interest me. The wide screen was what interested me for the video. My guess is that with the new launch of the IPhone they didnt want an IPOD that would overshadow it. A 30 or 60 gig IPOD Touch with WiFi would probably hurt sales of the IPhone and piss off their partners. I know why it was done, just mad that it was. I am going to shoot for the 80 gig or the 160 classic. My 20 gig IPOD finally bit the dust and its time for a new one. The metal case should help a lot with durability. I will pick up apple care with this one.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 02:16 PM) www.apple.com Check out the ipod touch which is basically just an iphone without the phone. The IPOD classic is now only available as an 80 gig or 160 gig piece of machine. The IPOD nano is totally redesigned. Actually I am disappointed. The IPOD Touch was the model I was really looking forward to, and then find out its only 16gig. I understand that they went for real thin and used flash in that model, but why would you create a wide screen ipod meant for video and only have 16gigs of space.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) The perfect guy would be Fisk for bench coach, who Ozzie already likes. Too bad it ain't happening. How about someone with a little experience. Nossek was great as a counter balance, and a man with a lot of experience. Torborg would be fine, however Ozzie isnt going to get rid of his little buddy. Great more Greg Walker for the life of Ozzie's contract, I just can't wait.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) As if the season couldn't get any worse....next thing you know, we'll be giving Pods and Erstad extensions. You know Grindy is as good as here next year. He is a shadow starter as it is.

My son asked me why my cake didn't have 36 candles on it, I told him that we needed the fire marshal to clear that kind of combustion in one place. Thanks for the Birthday Wishes guys.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2007 -> 11:38 AM) Thank God Erstad keeps getting thrown out there. He gives us the best chance to win. He is a shadow starter. The 10th man. -
I am a Christian, and more to the point a Roman Catholic. I watched the video, and went to the website. The website is just the rantings of an anti-catholic conspiracy theorist. The evil Roman Catholic's and of course the Jews are going to run the earth under a New World Order. The only thing we are missing is the black helicopters and mancow. So lets get the quick rundown on the video guy and the site creator. He was in a rock band, did lots of drugs, most likely was depressed or suffered some sort of mental disorder and came to an epiphany about God. He harbors hatred for Catholics, which ironically was what he was. He believes in a vengeful and strong armed god. Maybe he can buy some land around Waco and hold off the ATF longer the next time around. Drugs are bad, Mckay I believe in a loving, caring and compassionate God. I don't need saving, especially by former rock and roll drug addicts who hate my religion. I learned something though reading the website, Here all this time I thought Ossama bin Laden ordered the 9/11 attacks when according to Mr. Drug and Roll it was the Pope. The evil Catholic church strikes again. Wait till the Irish invade, you will all be sorry.

QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Sep 1, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) but why keep picking on Darin Erstad like he's been the reason the Sox have been a failure this year??? IMO the guy has a legitimate spot on this team as a 4th OF/backup 1B next year, a Mackowiak type position. Hitting .265-.270 in that role while being solid defensively, is not a bad choice. Because he wont be brought back to have a Mack like position. If he is here, and healthy he will start. Hell he is a shadow starter as it is right now.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 09:45 PM) http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines No Sweeney because of too many outfielders. This is just comical right now. I guess we can't take away time from Erstad's spot-starts. This might be the least impressive list of call-ups any team will have. Erstad is a shadow starter. We bench a player a day to rotate him in.

So much for Sweeney coming up. We get to see Pods and more Erstad though. That will help with the future.
