I wonder how superman erstad convinced Ozzie to forgo his policy of you get injured and you get pulled from a game you dont play the next day. He must have Jedi powers.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) Juany up to .220 Now the mopes on TV are talking about how Juan can carry a team. There are a lot of examples of .220 hitters carrying a team.

They just showed another reason, that Andy shouldnt be out in CF. A basic fly ball to center field confused Andy, he started to break then recovered. Then Hawk of course blows him, talking about how we found something special with Andy. Hawk seriously needs to go.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) well, I know he sucks... but at least he has some plate discipline. Maybe, just maybe, he could hit above .200 with a little pop from the rightside of the plate from off the bench. The problem with it is, that Ozzie doesnt know he sucks and will overplay him. Every year Ozzie gets some guy he overuses, his designated Toy. And he feels that this toy is something that the lineup needs.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 07:54 PM) After watching this game so far, I got a sickly feeling that Pods will be back next year. I believe he and his fragile friend will be back to keep the DL warm next year.

Prancer with a nice play. Now for every nice play he has,5 routine fly balls bounce out of his glove.

I am glad that certain Ozzie rules only apply to non grinders. Since Ozzie has been here, we have seen when a person leaves the game with an injury or cannot go, he gets the next game off as a precaution. But I guess if one is the bestest baseball player in the world according to Ozzie, he must play no matter what. And what in the name of all that is holy is Ozzies toy doing in CF.

Everytime Erstad gets hurt, Hawk dies just a little inside.

Contreras has been replaced by Gavin Floyd for at least one turn in the rotation, but made it clear that he won't stay a reliever for long. "Maybe for the remainder of the year I'll be in the bullpen, but I fully expect to start next year," Contreras said. "If they don't want me as a starter next year, I want to be out of here." Look Contreras and the fans are on the same page.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) I just got back on line. What happened to Erstad and what do we know about Thome? anything new? Erstad was activated from the disabled list, and he stepped onto the field.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 02:58 PM) I changed the SS with someone I thought may be a realistic target for KW. Other than that its pretty realistic IMO. We all know that KW is going after A-row, and I really like Richar as a lead off hitter. Richar needs to play some winter league and get more ABs under his belt. And work on his speed game so he is prepared for it next ST.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 02:07 PM) Maybe nobody wanted to give a damn thing up for the terrible Alex Cintron. Of course, Ozzie Latino! makes more sense. Yeah we wouldnt of gotten that super 23 year old high A prospect. Thank god we gave up the better hitter.

Juan "I love seconds and thirds at the buffet line" Uribe with the last out. Hopefully after this season, we can finally get rid of this. How many times do we need to see the human windmill try to launch every single pitch onto the street. Another offseason of 2nd helpings and he wont even bend over for the ball.

QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) Because it was a deal I couldnt refuse-Ken Williams 2 Utility guys who pretty much are similiar. Well when one utility guy hits pretty well and plays infield and outfield. And other has a nagging injury, and has been pretty much crap for most of the year. The guy who hits gets traded for a non prospect. The latin one who gets hugged by our manager gets to stay. It makes sense.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 01:52 PM) no way, Polanco has a monster head. Id take him on the Sox though. Polanco is the exact opposite of the type of hitter the sox create. He hits to all fields, he puts the bat on the ball, and is a tough tough person to strikeout. I along with others wish we had picked him up. He is what a number 2 hitter should be. Our smaller guys should strive to hit like that.

Why is Cintron still here. He should of been DL'd at some point to help his arm heal, yet he is out there. Maybe he can make a routine play, and Ozzie can give him another bear hug.

Here is the nut of it. About a month ago, Kenny was steaming in the papers about how changes were coming. He put everyone on notice. And pretty much did nothing. The trade deadline is here and gone. What is the penalty now for the vets to play bad.

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 01:34 PM) If Jon is hurt, he needs to say something. It's not worth it right now. Well MacDougal was supposedly healthy and ready to go all year, and now we hear that he was hurt and now he feels healthy. Who knows what to believe now.

Well notice right before the trade deadline, they were playing well. Maybe trying to keep playing here. Now that the trade deadline is over, and they know they are here for a while. Its turd time. Number one pick here we come.
