  1. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 29, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) boof is an average big-league pitcher who ain't one bit afraid of us. Spot the ball low and away and let the corpseball hitting attack get itself out.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) Outside of that Colby Lewis game, Thome's been pretty crappy since he returned. Pitchers will pay when Thome gets back.
  3. Rick Anderson to Boof. Why are you throwing strikes. Throw it over his head or bounce it in. Its the freakin whitesox, they swing like they are on crack. Hawk is making Boof into Cy Boof. 90 arm angles, periperhals like Johan.
  4. Now Hawk being a tool. Taking pitches when you are down, is advantage pitcher. No Santo with legs, its called working a count and trying to get base runners. Swinging at the first pitch and trying to hit it 9000 feet is how complete games are made.
  5. The Greg Walker corpseball attack. Down by 8 runs, one pitch one out.
  6. the most annoying thing is that Ozzie will blow the twins after this game, talking about how great they are, how they are the best team in the world and how in awe he is of them. Maybe a killer instinct and a chip on the shoulder would work instead of blowing them.
  7. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 29, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) twins seem eager to just crush us. they probably will. like to see us dust one of their hitters. but it won't happen. AJ has a nice seat up on the outside corner. We attack other teams, like we are pitching against ourselves. Here is a clue, other teams adjust and see the pattern. Not all teams have Greg Walker as their hitting coach waiting for a center cut fastball to crush. Some actually read a scouting report and come with a plan.
  8. Watch the twins hitters, watch how they hit the ball up the middle. Watch how they put the ball in play. I dont see any of their hitters falling over trying to hit home runs. I dont see strikeouts on pitches over their noggin.
  9. I bet you the thief who impersonates a hitting coach will now use the pitching issues, to say our hitters are pressing to hit being down a few runs. Nice to see the lift and pull approach has people swinging for St. Paul being down by a bunch of runs. Our hitters have the collective offensive approach of a child. Swing hard as you can, swing for the fence on every single pitch, swing and dont get cheated. This has been a losing whitesox approach for a while.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2007 -> 08:16 PM) Are we talking about the offense, or are we talking about when Danks starts fading? Danks will take some lumps from time to time. He is 22, and is learning on the job. His numbers and his starts sans this one have been great. The team decided to not hit this year, or this kid could be have a few more wins.
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 29, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) Wait till it gets warmer outside? Can we still say that? Nope its a perfect storm.
  12. Hawk is Santo with legs. He whines like Santo, he blames mythical crap like Santo, and he cheers like Santo. I dont like either. Go to soxfest, and you will hear him in person tell you this is the most talented sox team, and the best soxfest he has ever been to. The guy has to be on prozac to be so happy happy.
  13. Danks is our fifth starter. He is a 22 year old rookie that has pitched out of his mind so far. You knew he would have a bad outing. It happens. These games are magnified because the offense decided to take a dump on the field for 2 months. It would be nice to see the offense try and help out after they s*** on the field for 2 months.
  14. Dye should of caught that last one. Against another fielder, pulling up instead of making the play. Then Morneau crushes one. Our offense needs to pick this up.
  15. Next years ST, we need to teach what a strikezone is and how to protect on 2 strikes. We are one of the worst teams with 2 strikes in all of baseball.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 29, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) He has absolutely no arm (but thats do to his injury) but when he's not hitting he's worthless (and he is a decent pinch hitter historically). But than again I don't want Iguchi here either so what do I know. I want some mother f***ing athletes that can run and move on this team, guys that can create (to go with the power bats we have). I'd like to pick up a speedy 2nd baseman and an outfielder that has good speed, can hit for a decent average and field. Castillo next year?
  17. I love seeing our number one and number 2 hitters attempting to hit the baggy. f*** that get on, get over get in. Lift and pull. Its sexy, and it allows for you not to be tired when you go back to the field.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2007 -> 07:51 PM) I have no f***ing clue why he's playing today. Besides for looking pathetic against Bonser last time, there's also reports that his surgically repaired arm/shoulder is causing him pain. Some santeria spirit told ozzies chicken bones that he should play Cintron.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 29, 2007 -> 07:48 PM) Cintron is f***ing terrible in the field...Terrible. That should of been caught. It hung up enough.
  20. Dont worry the corpseball kids will score a ton of runs against Boof. /sarcasm
  21. It would be nice if one of our infielders could run just a bit. Cintron dogged that one.
  22. QUOTE(Allsox @ May 29, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) You are a gentleman and a scholar. Make 'em hit with their thumbs on a fastball and make 'em look foolish on the breaking stuff away! On thing that I have seen over the last month that doesn't make a lot of sense is the positioning they have for Dye. Yesterday for the millionth time, we have Dye playing in the gap, we have a lefty up, and we hang a pitch that can be pulled and driven. It gets hit down the line, and Dye then scampers after it, while the runner is off to the races. If you are going to pitch away, then put your defense in an alignment to defend that. If you are going to attack the batter in, then align that way. The pitch calling, and defensive positioning are so far off these days it doesn't make a lot of sense. The cubs series we saw a ton of away away away, and then we watched Dye running from the right center position to close on the ball down the line. Dye has good movement still back on the ball. He is a bit skittish on the ball in front of him, because he probably doesn't want it to skip past him. By on lateral movement, this is where he is poor as a defender.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ May 29, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) Sigh.... I see it's still not allowed to have a differing opinion around here. Tony, knowing you personally, I think the part you'll love the best is the mice in the 4 star resturants. Top notch health codes out there. I had a mouse in my hotel in Cambridge out there, and when I called up the front desk they told me they knew about the rodent, but couldnt move my room. Fenway is Wrigley east. The only thing better about it is that Roger Bossard redid the field, so it wont flood like Wrigley. In fact the redsox fans were eerily similar to their cub breather en.
  24. How about this. Hit the f***ing ball. If you get RISP late in the game, do not try and hit the majestic home run. Put the ball in play and make something happen. Dont run the bases like you are 2 years old and lost at the mall. Catch the f***ing ball. Attack the hitters from a pitching perspective. Man up, and throw strikes. Attack the hitters, how about a novel idea and pound the ball inside. Why do our hard throwing guys, go away away away. Here is a clue, you are not facing the whitesox. When you throw hard, go in. Dont throw something away that can tail over the plate for a dong. Just f***ing win.
