  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) I don't like that the only playoff team with a worse ERA than us just beat us pretty easily in a 3-game series. Did you watch the series? They didnt beat us easily. We didnt execute. Its not like we got destroyed over a 3 game period and we were just outclassed and outshined.
  2. Two points. 1.) KW is aggressive, prospects are just chess pieces for him. on the other hand. 2.) Bmac is not a prospect, and KW has said he doesnt just want to win one year, he wants to continue winning here like the Braves. To do that he will need cheap interchangable parts to mix with veteran talent. Bmac and Anderson fit into that mold. I think that Vazquez is a goner. Vaz was picked up as protection if either the Count or Garland decided to walk after this year. With both of them signed to long term deals, see you Vazquez. Let Bmac take his role. He is already better than Vaz.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) B+ POSITIVES - Unbelievable offensive explosion this year, Jermaine Dye and Jim Thome have appearantly decided to join the ranks of the elite in the AL offensively (nothing new for Thome) and Joe Crede has been just ricockulous on both O and D. - Classic AJ is back and it's made this team so much better. - Contreras has gone a long way to prove that the second half of last year was a fluke. Awesome. - Brian Anderson has shown me so much in CF this year, I never liked him as a prospect and seriously questioned his defense, considering how some people talked about him. He has proven to be one of the best defensive players in baseball for the half season, simply unbelievable. - Even with all their flaws this team has still managed to stay only 2 game back of a team that is winning at a ridiculous pace. NEGATIVES - Reliance on Thome at the beginning of the year could have crippled this team. - Inconsistent bullpen for a good portion of the season thus far, though the pen has been pretty solid of late. - Horrid starting pitching considering the expectations. - Fundamentals have been pretty sloppy as well, this team can't bunt for s*** it seems and the baserunning has been subpar. ^^^^^^^^ Kalapse is spot on here. I would like to see a few moves happen. BA is your starting CF. The platoon is over. If anyone needs a platoon, its Mr. Playboy in LF who is taking his bad baseball onto the field, dropping balls, poor reads and poor throws. Trade for Luis Matos. He would require nothing from prospects in our org. He is right handed, plays decent defense and can be another OF to plug in late in games in LF or when BA needs a day off. We need another right handed bat off of the bench. And if you ask who goes from our team. The guy who forgot to tag up on third on Sunday who provides nothing to this team. Someone will want Ross Gload, its just not us. Put Bmac into the rotation, and then ship off Vazquez for something. He still has value in the majors due to his stuff. I know Omar Minaya is in love with him as an arm, and probably has something we can use. Trade for another arm in the bullpen.
  4. "Even when I go to the gym I'm being accused of playing ball like him (Jordan)," Heckard said. Yeah I am sure the out of shape slobs you play in a pickup game think you move like Jordan. This is another nominee for the "I seriously need a good beating" award.
  5. How does Mr. Bone Chips in my elbow pass a medical exam on the trade.
  6. The germans must be entertainment starved if that sells records there. He would ge booed off of the stage a local village fest in the summer if he performed here.
  7. Brian Anderson hopefully will silence the need for an upgrade in CF. July stats .333BA .364OBP with a .840OPS.
  8. Well we can bury this rumor. The kiss of death has picked it up and is running it now. So that means pretty much it aint happening.
  9. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 02:31 AM) Our answer in LF isnt Fields...he'll be a nice platoon guy that can possibly play LF at best, DH, and 3B...thats about it. If we're gonna replace Pods(please lord) next year, its going to have to be for a similar type player, someone at the top of the order. Without Pods, as bad as he is there, we REALLY don't have anyone that can emulate a leadoff hitter. Not every single leadoff hitter is a speed guy like Pods. As long as its someone who has decent speed, can get on, you are fine. Pods is lifting the ball like crazy, his defense is terrible this year. Replacing that isnt as hard as you think.
  10. How about NO. I would rather put McCarthy in the rotation, than to trade him for Schmidt for a rental. Anderson is finally hitting. Again why would we give him up. Take a gander at saturdays game, when the ball hit between Cintron and Mack. Now replay that a bunch of times and you will see our new an impoved defense if you get rid of Anderson. I have a better idea. Have Mack start in LF, put Mr. Playboy and his terrible defense on the bench. More balls caught, less free outs, pitching gets better. The only pitcher that concerns me overall if Freddy because of the large velocity loss.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 02:52 AM) Well, if we don't score here we have to face Manny next inning. I don't see this game going passed 10. I dont know how anyone could watch the replay of the game. Watching the two Walruses with the Red Cubs gear on sitting behind home plate, all I kept on thinking is they need a collective beating. Pointing at their shirts, screaming at every whitesox player. They looked terrorized after Dye gave Papleboner a jack. Then of course it must of been feeding time at the zoo, because they left about the 13th. Hope they found the buffet that they were looking for.
  12. I love it when our no so good defensive shortstop replacment, calls off our good fielding 3rd baseman. That gives me all sorts of good feelings.
  13. f***ing worthless. Take a f***ing swing at the ball, stop throwing your bat at the pitch away.
  14. Joe Crede hits the ball, the horse named trot mis reads it. Double. Now for the love of all things holy. Get this f***ing runner in.
  15. Maybe Joe can hit a dong. He had enough ABs today to get out of his funk.
  16. We have Dye, AJ, and then Crede up this inning. I still wish Anderson was in the game. He was swinging a hot bat, hitting the ball where it was pitched giving us solid dfense in center. If anyone should be out of the game its our LF.
  17. So now our 3-4-5 is Ozuna, Gload and Dye. That strikes fear into anyone.
  18. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) Time for the Rally Mariotti/Rally Richard THats scarier than Julian Tavarez.
  19. Thornton does a hell of a job. Now can we get a run. Dye just end it.
  20. I would issue a free pass to Ramirez and then go after a man named after a horse.
