  1. I register for classes with one press of the 'Enter' key on my keyboard. Not bad, huh? And I don't know the policy at your schools, but for classes that fill up quickly, I just see the professor on the first day of class with an ADD CLASS form in hand. I've never had trouble getting a signature.
  2. Last year was my first time going. Had so much fun, I will be back for sure.
  3. Haha, I remember making this thread a long time ago. Since then I've had about a dozen interviews and fortunately a job in line after graduation. The interview process becomes so much easier the more you go through with it. I sat down for several interviews of jobs I didn't want just for the practice.
  4. Garland's salary should be upped a bit.
  5. I like the idea of a recipe thread.

    A Must Watch...

More fun with unfortunate camera angles:
  7. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) I've made the assumption that the White Sox are as adept as the Cub at hiding revenue. So I assume team reported revenue is that which they can't hide: revenue derived from admissions. That would include parking. That's quite a large assumption, and I don't agree with coming to any conclusions based on it. However, if you provide me with your best guess on the fraction (total Cub parking rev/total Sox parking rev), from that I can calculate how much of our total revenue came from parking assuming that the average Sox fan spends the same amount at the ballpark as the average Cub fan, parking excluded. After that I can figure out what share of total Sox parking revenue goes directly to the Sox, and what share goes to other parties.
  8. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) Simply put the White Sox averaged $57.19 in revenue per patron in 2001. The Cub averaged $47.13. If not parking revenue then what else explains that disparity? More evidence there is no 3rd party company. iit.edu/~parking/student.html If there was a 3rd party involved they would have been mentioned. This is a deal worked between the White Sox & the school. Do you think those figures included TV/Radio revenues? The article didn't explicitly say they weren't in there. EDIT: The following quote insinuates that TV/Radio deals are included.. "Signed on to a 30-year television deal that doesn't pay anything? Tough." Money from these sort of contracts is obviously not attendance-influenced. If the Sox and Cubs signed similar deals, your rev/attendance would be quite skewed.
  9. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) Wrong again. She corrected her figure based on her assumption that the White Sox are getting at most 50% of that revenue. That's her belief & she has been able to offer ZERO proof to back it up. In contrast I used reported revenue & attendance figures from both teams to show that the White Sox have a higher per patron revenue figure than the Cubs. This can only be explained with a revenue source the White Sox benefit greatly from that the Cubs do not have. That narrows it down to parking revenue. Then all you have done is shown that the Sox generate more revenue from parking than the Cubs do. You have not proven that nearly 100% of parking revenue goes directly to the Sox. This comes as no surprise to anyone. Parking at Wrigley field is not popular. Parking is very accommodating at the Cell. Here is a disclaimer found on the Cubs website: Cubs fans are strongly encouraged to use public transportation going to and from Cubs games. That doesn't sound like an organization at all anticipating much profit from parking prices.
  10. Something else I thought was funny about that is if you go to baseball-reference.com's Bobby Abreu page, it shows that the most similar batter in baseball history to Bobby Abreu is...............Brian Giles. So I guess it's more like Bobby Abreu = Brian Giles.
  11. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) 2) If we assume that the White Sox are getting the lion's share then your own math has proven it's an 8 figure revenue stream. Unit wise that represents 10's of millions. Recall: 1's, 10's, 100's .. etc. It was only in 8 figures when she accidently made an error in her calculation. Even after a correction, she assumed 2 attendees/car, which I think is too low and artificially inflates revenue. If we knew the car capacity/lot, I think we could come up with a more accurate estimation...
  12. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 02:34 AM) I know its only 2 percent but people actually want AJ replaced? If he lands us Joe Nathan, Fransico Lirano, and Boof Bonser, then yes.
  13. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) Btw, with all this talk about how good Haigwood is, my sleeper pick turned out to be pretty good, eh? Who is your 2006 sleeper?
  14. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) Abreu has 7 straight years of over 100 BBs something Giles cannot attest to and a number that is NOT dependant on the length of the fences Past 7 Seasons: BB's Giles = 747 Abreu = 772 Abreu walked at a 3.3% greater rate than Giles over the past seven seasons (3.5 more walks than Giles in each season...:rolly). K's Giles = 492 Abreu = 859 Abreu struck out at a 74.6% greater rate than Giles over the past seven seasons.

    A "Big Hurt"?

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 02:35 AM) not really actually: AJ had a tough time finding a team to play with and I suspect that if Frank doesn't come back to the Sox he might be in that same position. I was thinking more along the lines of how Frank has been here over a decade and we're coming off a World Series championship season. Those circumstances make it a little more difficult to leave for a division rival if the Sox give him a role next year.

    A "Big Hurt"?

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) Two Words: A.J. Pierzynski! Now I ain't saying it is going to happen, in fact I doubt it but who thought Pierzynski would be a White Sox. The two situations are like apples and oranges.

    A "Big Hurt"?

QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 02:12 AM) Frank is exactly the type of player the Twins might go after. Someone that can really help them, but they could get cheap because of his health concerns. It's a gamble the Twins might take. As for Frank not going there, if they give him a shot at 500 HR, he gawn. So are you of the opinion that the Sox aren't going to give him that opportunity next season?
  20. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) Again, just perfect. I'm loving the soundtrack. The Gooch batflip in the middle of the video was sweet. I just love that thing, and that was an excellent way to end the June video. Thanks a lot Greasy. This one took me the longest by far, so I'm very happy to see a positive review.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) And where did he do that..? Sox attendance for '05 - 2.4 million Let's say 80% of them parked in the lots which brings that # to 1.9 million Average parking $15.00 ($17 for day of game, $13 for season ticket holders, and not figuring in those that have residential parking or park in the $8 lot)) = $28.5 million $'s Plus you are being way too generous with this figure. Say 80% got to the game via automobile. They only paid $15/car, not $15/person.
  22. When they say AD could be "shopped around", does this mean that Fox still owns the rights to it after the cut and another network would have to buy the rights from them?
