I think we could sign Giles and Durazo for a couple million more per year than what just PK will make per year and actually get more production out of that combination than we would out of PK/Thome. But Durazo having his performance hindered due to past injury is more likely than Thome suffering the same way.

I think this is moot anyway because the Rangers are going to convert him to a corner outfielder. He'll probably take Mench's spot.

I don't see all that much power production from Gonzalez in the minors. 69 home runs in 5 seasons? We'd get more offensively next year if Gload started I'd say. Gonzalez would be a move for the future.

He's almost worth more in terms of revenue he generates than what he gives you on the field. Performance only, there's no way he's a $15M/year player. I wouldn't sell the farm for Ichiro.
