  1. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) It wasn't implying that Chicago is the 3rd largest MLB market overall. It was stating it's the 3rd hottest market in MLB post-season history with respect to sales. With respect to LAA in 2002 the 2005 CWS eclipsed them in post-season non-gate sales. http://www.suntimes.com/output/worldseries...soxworth31.html It should be near the top. I'm sure these are gross sales, not real sales. The locker room championship hat probably didn't cost $28 a few years ago.

    QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) ....zing.... Sorry, I should've included or something. I wasn't being sarcastic.

    Birth Control Danger

    QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 09:35 AM) .....it's also been found to be fatal for potential babies.....pass it on..... You are hilarious.
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) Lugo, wife beater, no thanks. Was this ever actually proven? I'd love to have him on the team regardless.
  5. QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) This makes me wonder how long it'll take for the White Sox World Champions home pregnancy test will be made available. I heard they'll be on sale by Soxfest. Here's the prototype.
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Yes... and it only cost around 207 million or so to make. Ha...it will surpass that in U.S. box office alone.
  7. I heard this film will be 3+ hours. It will be epic.

    Be A Pal

    All I learned from months of trying to get internships is that it pays to have connections. Try to set up as large a network as you can in college.

    Be A Pal

    QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) Well I don't have the passion for it. As a freshman, have you even taken a ME course yet?
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 02:31 AM) Nice to see someone else actually know about the game. I know how dominant Australia is too...
  11. That's great for the game, I hope she gets the position.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) Before the playofs even started. Votes were due in by 10/1/05 iirc. Thanks for clarification. When I saw early October, I just took a stab at the range. So most votes probably took place when the Indians looked to be a shoe-in for the wild card.
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) What's more impressive? Re-tooling your entire team and winning a World Series or building towards the future with no real guarantee of a World Series? I know which one I would pick. Kenny's is more impressive right now but these votings took place before the first round of the playoffs even ended. I didn't notice this at first. Taking that into account I can see how it was a toss-up between the two. Putting together a 90+ win team with $40 million is comparable to making the sheer number of moves that Kenny did to build a division winner with his budget in my opinion.
  14. Here's the thing. Shapiro made all the moves to garner the youth movement in years prior to '05. But it's not like you could give him the award when those moves were made because you have no idea how the plan will pan out. I guess all I can say is him and Kenny both deserve worlds of credit for their achievements.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) You would be correct in the assumption. I'll never tell.... why you comparing him to Tracy?
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) And here is the bend-not-break D. broken.
  17. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) Neh. I wouldn't trade any of the big four right now. Especially not Garcia. He's very cheap and pretty damn good. Plus, we have no one to replace him in the rotation. If by very cheap you mean the most expensive pitcher we have on the team, and as of now the highest salary per year we have on the team. He's good, but he will probably be our 3rd or possibly our 4th best starter next season. I wouldn't be at all opposed to trading him but that's never going to happen.
  18. Rowand for Linebrink? Check out last year's splits against lefties...a tad bit better than Marte I would say.
  19. Interestingly, Iguchi got second-most first place votes.
  20. QUOTE(He Gawn!!! @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) I thought the same thing, but I couldnt care less if it is or not. I do know that the signature is definitely his though. Yeah, getting AJ's sig is pretty cool, authentic ball or not.
