  1. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 09:27 AM) at home after the meal, those sliders will make the occasion that much more special... The 'Dutch oven' is sure to give the evening an international flare.
  2. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 06:47 PM) What does it say about the HOME of Rock music when 8 of the 11 (not including the Anglo-american collaberation Cream ) choices are of British groups? Rock on. That the English popularized American blues music by going electric and putting white faces behind it.
  3. As much as I hate to say it, Bush did a nice job. What did he say they call Pauly? Mr. Soxtober????
  4. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) Am I the only one who thinks doing that to this kid (clearly the parent knew what was coming) was just plain mean? No way I could do that. I bet he didn't expect the kid to break down crying the way he did. Although he continues to follow him around with the camera, lol.
  5. The image of Dubya holding up a White Sox jersey with the name Bush on the back of it just made half the people on this board puke, the other half starched their shorts.
  6. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 02:05 PM) The funniest part of that Telander article is: Not only does he rip all over Ozzie, but he gets a dig in at Pods. George W. Bush Lisa Dergan Telander really doesn't get it.
  7. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) i dunno, did ya? Well, I heard it first thing this morning and it was either on the radio or in a dream. Until the caffiene kicks in, I have no sense of reality in the morning.
  8. So far Ozzie has been very calm and handled this situation well. If he's asked about it again once he's back from vacation, I'll totally understand if he goes ape s***.
  9. Not sure how it feels where the rest of you are, but dowtown it feels like the coldest day this winter.
  10. Time for the 'girly-est thing you've ever done' thread.
  11. Did I hear that Jenks and Pods will be at the auto show tomorrow?
  12. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) This is what I don't get. Does Borchard think that he deserves to be a starter or does he just want a shot at a bench spot? He has a good chance at being our last outfielder but he seems to think he's better than that according to this article. This article makes me think that either Jerry Owens or Ben Grieve will end up being our last outfielder. Borchard wants a shot with another team but he is also contemplating a return to football. Reminds me of Drew Henson. His head is scrambled now. Grab your shoulder pads Borch.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 09:52 AM) The dumbass morning show host on the Score is beating the dead horse yet again today. Ugh, for the love of God I can't wait for this to be over and people to shut up about it! Is it North? Don't let him get to you. Change the station or you're playing right into their hands.
  14. If Borch hasn't been able to get it done consistently by now, what can we expect now that he is considering playing another sport?
  15. Telander chimes in: http://www.suntimes.com/output/telander/cst-spt-rick13.html
  16. That style is my favorite Sox jersey of all time. Chet was one of my childhood heroes. Happy B Day! As far as the shorts, I guess no one thought about them needing to slide.

  18. They're trying to sell tix, so I understand, I have no problem with it.
  19. 'The Shining' is effective because it's creepy as well as scary. It wasn't about blood and guts or about having things jump out at you, it was about painting a horryfying mood and situation. I'm not sure how much of the hotel was re done for the film, but some of the colors and patterns of the location as well as the angles at which they are shot add to the fear and desperation. Also, the way he holds some of the shots for a long period of time is effective. Some of those images are burned into my memory forever. Truly, great film making.........and I'm not a fan of horror films.
  20. RIP Jay Dee. http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/news/06-02/10.shtml
  21. Saw 'Capote' finally, is it nominated for best picture? I doubt it would win best pic, but PSH might win best actor. Solid performances in supporting roles too.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Good call my ass. It's pure speculation based on nothing. Jenks had something in his personal life to deal with. Can't we allow him that without question what that issue was or speculating that he's binge drinking or something? Damn. Why don't you put the whistle down and read his post again? "The snub that concerns me is Jenks. Supposedly a death in the family is what kept him away from Soxfest, and now a personal matter has him not attending this. Most likely its nothing, but his past history, and the fact that he is now the toast of the town wherever he is at gets me wondering if he has fallen off the wagon."
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 09:25 AM) People on this site have made a big deal about the White Sox White House appearance. I don't know if teams visited the White House back in 1917 so this is a big deal to the organization, and Ozzie, especially considering he is the manager, should go. It wouldn't kill him to fly out of the DR into DC that morning and return to the DR that evening or even the next day. He is with his family, especially his sons all season and off season long. I think the excuse of wanting to spend vacation time with his family is weak, although I agree that it isn't that necessary he attend. The snub that concerns me is Jenks. Supposedly a death in the family is what kept him away from Soxfest, and now a personal matter has him not attending this. Most likely its nothing, but his past history, and the fact that he is now the toast of the town wherever he is at gets me wondering if he has fallen off the wagon. Good call on Jenks. I know he's had issues in the past, but was he totally on the wagon?
