Films
QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) Munich was the best movie of 2005. It was deeply moving and action packed. 2 1/2 hours that felt like 1. I can't imagine that Brokeback mountain could even come close. I have zero desire to see one dude fail to impregnate another dude. PA, both films are very good, I'd say BBM is better. Maybe it's because I went into it with a bad attitude, expecting not to like it. On the other hand, I was expecting Munich to be 4 stars and it's good, but not great. Give BBM a chance, you might be surprised. It's difficult to compare films head to head against each other, because the subject matter is so different and they aim to do different things. The Oscars should eliminate the best overall film award. By they way, thx for the 'Hostel' reviews, I think I'll skip it.

Did anyone get out to see 'Hostel' yet? Review? Finally got around to seeing one that had slipped under my radar. 'She Hate Me', by Spike Lee. Good film, but seemed to shoot off into too many different directions and try to make too many statements at once, to the point where it seemed out of focus.

The Score pitches Ozzie Jr. as baseball talk host
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) No its about catering to a small group of the population that refuses to learn american customs..We contuine to cater to spanish speaking people, while every other ethnic background is thrown to the side.. Irish,Italians and Polish Imigrants helped build Chicago into the great city that it is..And they had to learn the Langauage as well as kept their own. They recieved no speaical treatment.. why should spanish speaking people? If your going to cater to one group you have to cater to all..Otherwise that is racist, there is no way around it. LMFAO, take a bow.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) And Chicago is the largest city outside of Warsaw(Captial of Poland) in the world that speaks Polish.. Where is their show? Again, when is the shows going to start for other Ethinic backgrounds, and why do we contuine to cater only to spanish speaking? That my fellows sox fans is racist. S.O.D. said it best.. Quit b****ing and start one. By the way, there is Polish radio on the AM dial. I doubt they talk baseball though.

We're fat
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) Its funny, at every single gym probably in the chicagoland area. The week after new years eve you have a hard time getting on a machine at some gyms. Everyone working out. Give it a month. The New Years resolutioners have given up and are back on the couch watching TV and eating the bon bons. At least that is how it is at most ballys' and at lifetime fitness. I will be back up in the front row of the treadmills in 3 weeks again like I was the week before Christmas. . That is why I take most of January off from the gym. Your body needs a break once in a while anyway and if you're a regular, January is the perfect 'off' time.

Great idea. The southside is full of Latinos, time to get more of them out to the Cell.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) Sang the anthem at game 2 of the WS. RIP. Surprising he was able to do that, he must have already been very sick. I read he was hospitalized a month ago with lung AND brain cancer, wow.

Crew Rushes to Get to Trapped W.Va. Miners
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 11:58 AM) The miners left notes for their family members saying that they didn't suffer and they just were going to fall asleep and they'd see their loved ones on the other side. Damn. RIP and may God look over the families.

shut up Pete
QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) I've never understood the love of the Who. They do nothing for me. In the town where my wife grew up in Wisconsin, everyone freakin' LOVES the Who, and I just don't get it. I felt the same way, then I saw them perform on some kind of benefit concert within the last few years, maybe it was a Sept. 11th benefit, anyway they completely blew me away as a live act. I'm still not a 'fan', but I can see the attraction.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) Most people don't listen to their iPod at 120 dB all the time. He did with his headphones. Big difference. Most people also don't take the stage for 30 years in front of a wall of amps.

Favorite Steak?
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) I actually had to one time The only tough part for me is when I stop and think about all the different kinds of animal meat in my stomach at once. Beef, pork, lamb, some places have even expanded the menu to include chicken and some fish. At that point, it's pretty much a carcass fest in your stomach. Enjoy.

shut up Pete
http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=211176>1=7538 I wonder if his hearing loss has anything to do with, Oh I dunno, playing loud as f*** in a rock and roll band for like 30 years. I love how people do stupid s*** for years and years and then suddenly get preachy. I wonder if the IPod people can sue his ass, like the beef industry sued Oprah.
