KG, you must be talking about the 'Castro' district in SF, that's their predominantly gay area.

QUOTE(Sox1422 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) I'll be there for almost 2 weeks. As The Ginger Kid says, you'd better line up some road trips. SF will get tired in no time. Luckily, you'll be in cali. where there is tons to do.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) I love the Ozz...but he needs to quit giving so much love to El Pukee. The guy doesn't have it this year. McCarthy should get a chance to make the 4 man playoff rotation. B Mac in the playoff rotation? No way. All this time, I thought people just wanted B Mac to get all of Duque's remaining starts before the playoffs. Duque and B Mac will be in the pen for the playoffs.

It's beautiful, but a lot smaller than I expected. I did the GG bridge, the rock, fisherman's wharf, Sausalito, the wine country and I forgot the name of the 'cool' neighborhood with all the good restaurants. After 3 days, I was bored. The weather is also cooler then what I expected. Perfect weekend getaway, but from Chicago, it's a long flight for just a weekend.

Mark Messier Expected To Retire
LosMediasBlancas replied to Ozzie Montana's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
It's official. He gawn. -
Ever hear Chris Rock's rant on this? "that tiger didn't go crazy, that tiger went tiger!"

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) So did Texas and Boston. El Duque started out 7-1, whats his record since? I feel what you're saying SSI, but like I said, Oz might not give up on him. Just looked at our pitching stats for the last 30 days. Opposing teams are hitting above .290 against all 5 of our starters. In the last 30 days, AJ is barely hitting above .210. Everett is at .218, Rowand .235.

I understand the frustration with Duque, but let's give some credit to Ana. That is a solid ball club who handed it to Mark B. and Garland as well.

Konerko to be an Angel?

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) hehe He lost all cred with that statement. -
I'd be shocked if Oz gives up on Duque for B Mac.

I had no problem with Ozzie saying he needed to get away. Besides, I thought most people on this board loved his brutal honesty....or is the only when the team is winning? Interesting.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) It's "Clean the f***ing car" -- not that Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies or anything. The dialogue alone makes PF the best.

Sounds like a great day. I'm glad you so got such a thrill.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) Is AJ Pieryznski still alive? He's had two homers since August 1st, and hasn't had a hit in 18 ABs. If this team doesn't go to KC and beat the living hell out of 'em, heads need to roll. Beating KC will mean nothing. The Sox are a good team, but just that. They can beat average and bad teams and really struggle with very good teams. This team needs survive the rest of the regular season, learn from it's losses to good teams and adjust for the playoffs.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 06:32 PM) Who are these ultra positive, full of denial posters that you speak of? For some reason I can't think of any regular/longtime posters that fit the bill. There's some, just a general observation. No personal attacks, remember.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) Mostly because they are sick of being screamed down and mocked everytime they say something that isn't to the tone of the sky is falling. Pretty much, if you aren't trying to get some fired, demoted, or traded, there is no point in posting, because you'll just get mocked for your opinion anyway. ...or maybe it's that all these so called 'positive believers' aren't really believing. It's kinda like "yeah, we know this team will have it tough in the post season, but we don't want to hear it" AKA: denial.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:12 AM) True Romance Yep. and even though it's been imitated and beaten to death, Pulp Fiction is second. Jackie Brown was such a letdown.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) No tolerance for negativity? Look at the front page of PHT, and tell me how many negative threads there are, and try to tell me again how there is no tolerance for negativity. So, posters have never been jumped on or banned for being negative? Sheeeeit. My point is, a lot of people say this board is too negative, yet I don't see too many people sticking their necks out for this team right now.
-
QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:53 AM) This actually can be a good thing for the Sox. In 2000, the Sox had nothing to fight for down the stretch and they got waxed by Seattle. MAYBE playing some meaningful games against a hot Jndjans team could prep the Sox for playoff baseball. ....that's the glass-half-full way I choose to see it today, anyway.....check back later, my Inner Pessimist may have taken over by then..... I totally agree Critic. There shoud be no more 'easy' games from this point on. It's those easy games that give this team a false sense of security. We gain nothing from beating up KC and Detroit any more.

Should I go or should I say no?
LosMediasBlancas replied to Colorado Sox Fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If you've already bought the tix, go. Otherwise, don't go. I hate the Sunday crowd. -
Gee, for a board that has no tolerance for negativity, you guys aren't exactly oozing with confidence in this team, are you? Interesting. The first round will be our toughest challenge. If we get past that, I really like our chances.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) I think Wyman had the right idea when he bowed out a few years back. But you know what Mick said, he'd rather be dead than singing 'Satisfaction' when he's forty. I mean fifty. I mean. . . The last time I saw them was for the 'Bridges of Babylon' tour. They played so quietly, you could carry on a conversation with out raising your voice. Awful.

LosMediasBlancas replied to Ozzie Montana's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Dick, baseball is usually a game of momentum and it swings back and forth. Id' rather, lose this series, learn and adjust, then beat them in the playoffs. Today is not over, by the way. -

Playoff preview kiddies. This is a good series for the Sox to be playing right now. Wish we were going to Boston 1 more time before Oct.
