QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) You shoulda tried it at old Comiskey. You wouldn't want to even go INTO the bathroom there. Oh I remember, they were dark as hell too, so you had no clue what you were stepping in, lol.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Urinals are still a godsend in clubs. For whatever reason drunks at clubs who use the toilets to piss in seem to be encouraged to miss they also have a tendancy to place cups around the toilet and use them are targets. I'm thankful I've never had to go to the #2 at a nightclub it's usually an awful mess. Ya ever have to take a squat at the Cell? Now THAT'S an adventure, the seats are soaked, the 'fluids' on the floor are 2 inches deep so hopefully you didn't wear sandals and just try to keep your pants dry, 12 guys are in line waiting to drain and are bagging on the stall door and usually there is no t.p. Good stuff.

I'd like it, a lot, more Latinos

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Been there. That trip is next month. As for it being for "serious" coaster riders... adults... my 12 year old nephew seems to handle them just fine. That's like 8th grade, he's not a little kid. I was like 5 foot 9 at 12 years old. I think the height requirements are tougher there too. Anyway, kick ass place. What's the other huge park in Ohio?
-
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) i dont know how prevalent this is in other parks, but Holiday World(In Santa Claus, Indiana) has free drinks and free sunblock, and the food was good and reasonably priced(hamburger 3 Bucks, 14 inch pizza with saus and pep 14 bucks). We had a great time there despite the drive. Its also rated the cleanest waterpark in the world, and I cannot disagree. In the part of the park with the rides, they have the number 1 and number 4 wooden roller coasters in the world, and they are awesome. If you are looking to get away and avoid the uber-crowded parks in Chicago and the Dells, this is the place to go. www.holidayworld.com Anyone ever been to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Oh.? It makes Great America look like the swing set in your back yard. It is for the SERIOUS rollercoaster fan, not for kids. Seriously, you need 2 full days and you might see it all. There is also a huge water park inside and beaches with hotels nearby off Lake Erie (I think). Only 4 hours away and worth every minute and dime. We went there a few years ago and swore we'd never go anywhere else.

Despite being in first, White Sox just cannot win

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 07:26 AM) I imagine if you are a Red Sox fan, and accustomed to sell out after sell out, seeing empty seats and a 1st place team is strange. JR and Co. did their part. Sox fans have always said put a winning product on the field and we will come. It's put up or shut up time. I happen to think it is a story. The financial side of baseball dominates everything from trades to attendance. You're right about the put up or shut up and Sox fans have been putting up lately, the attendance has been way up lately. Now it's time for KW and JR to put up. -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:00 AM) I think he is sick of playing for the (expos). Sick of a decent team in 1st place, why exactly?
-
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:55 AM) Well, I hate to say it, but they do have a chance. With Atlanta taking over the East, they'll be chasing Washington now, who are showing that they don't have a whole lot of staying power. I personally don't think they'll make it, but they certainly have a shot. Well of course mathematically they have a chance, but the guy does nothing to show why it might probably happen.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) If you're making minimum payments on your credit card, you have no business owning one. I don't know about that, but if you only make the minimum payment, you sure as hell will never pay off the balance. We always try to at least pay two and half times the minimum.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) The Sox have got to decide whether or not its advantageous to acquire Vizquel right now, when they wouldn't offer him a 3 year deal in the off-season. Sure he probably contribute next season, but what about in 2007? Did we even offer him two years in the off season??

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) also check out the fact that it was posted 3 days ago Yep, guess the 72 hours are up.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) The MLB boards? I'll believe it when I see a trustable source. Of course, but it shows how out of control the Burnett talk is.

Even before Brittle Boy Wood broke down (again) they had no chance. Who is the fkn writer and will he please pass the hydro?

QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) Chicago White Sox Current position: First place, AL Central What they need: Chicago is blessed with a tremendous team defense, and a great pitching staff in all facets. The offensive attack is another matter. The Sox have the best record in baseball, but they rank only sixth in the AL in runs scored. That might not sound like an indictment, but U.S. Cellular drastically inflates run scoring. If there's an offensive fault to be isolated, it's at the shortstop position. This season, AL shortstops are batting .273 AVG/.327 OBP/.409 SLG, while White Sox shortstops are batting only .231 AVG/.263 OBP/.345 SLG. That's a significant drop-off, and it's one that needs to be addressed before July 31. Possible targets: Shortstop — Alex Gonzalez, Julio Lugo, Omar Vizquel What they can trade: If it's a blockbuster-type deal, they might be willing to part with Brandon McCarthy. Failing that, prospects like Ryan Sweeney, Josh Fields and Gio Gonzalez could be involved. We have chemistry and that will compensate for lack of offense......especially in the playoffs. Ozzie thinks our pitching staff will keep every team under 4 runs per game in the playoffs so that despite our offense, we'd still have a chance to win. I want to hear plan B.
-
How will this affect Contreras the rest of the year if the deal does not happen??
-
Loooooooots of speculating here. First of all, 50-50 chance we even get Burnett. Secondly, let's be careful in what we expect from him if we do land him. He'd certainly help, but he's just the best of what's available right now. Let's keep it in perspective.

2 outs?

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) Eff yea!!!!! Eff yea??? That's funny.
