QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 09:44 AM) My buddy wants to go and doesnt have tickets, how hard do you think it would be to find a scalper with fair prices, and what's the best way to go about it... I'm sure you'll find scalpers, I don't know about fair prices though. It's always tricky, some people say with them out and prices will come down, but don't wait too long or you'll end up with nothing. FYI, pavillion tix were $60.00, lawn was $40.00, so figure out what's fair to you. Good luck!

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 09:49 AM) Take I-57 to I-80 West. You will only be on 80 for about 2 Miles. Harlem will be your first exit as soon as you get on I-80. Take Harlem North (I know that seems like the wrong way but just trust me on this one.). Go up to 183rd make a right to Oak Park Ave. and then make another right on Oak Park Ave. It will be on the left side of the street. Going this way will put you with the local traffic but keep you out of the majority of the city traffic coming from Vollmer. Have a good time Thx man.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 09:46 AM) Hmm.. didn't I suggest that..? IIRC, just after the 159th toll you merge right to 80. Go towards Iowa (which is west but I don't remember if it says that). Just stay to the right and you'll be fine. Have fun. yes, yes, yes, thx thx thx.

QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 08:58 AM) What the hell is a herniated disc anyway..... In between your vertabrea are small, gel filled disks. Think of them as shock absorbers for your spine. With compression, they can either shift out of place or if the gel is pressed out, they go flat. When they shift out of place, they can touch up against a long line of nerve endings that run up and down your back and it HURTS LIKE HELL. I have one that flares up all the time. You learn what to do and what not to do to live with it. I can't imagine being a pro athlete with one. Crede is in trouble. They will have to shoot him up the rest of this year and if he's smart he'll go under the knife in the off season.

QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 09:39 AM) I take it Youre going to Tom Petty, it's gonna be awesome, I'm looking forward to it. I saw this same show at Summer Fest two weeks ago. I'm a huge Crowes fan, but Petty was fun too. My only complaint is he doesn't mix up his set list too much.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) Construction on 80 ends at the 80-94 merge tollway. So where 57 gets on it is usually pretty clear. I work in South Holland and commute from Lemont everyday. I sit on the 294 traffic everyday so I pretty much know the streets. I wouldn't recommend the Vollmer exit because they have almost all of their chicago traffic go that way. His best bet is to get on 80 and exit Harlem. Ok, so from I-57, switch to I-80 and get off at Harlem. How long after being on I-57 does the switch to I-80 come? Is it I-80 east or west, or is there only one?
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) Depends on the flow of traffic. That's the "secret" way everyone knows about. It's a crap shoot. Going 57 to 80 to Harlem is the easiest way and the least complicated for someone not from that area. Who are you seeing anyway? The Black Crowes and Petty!!! How far south is Vollmer road? Is it in the 190's?

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) I-80 towards Iowa and follow the signs and traffic. You can get off at Harlem or LaGrange but you woun't really know until you get there and see the traffic. Friday traffic, and construction on both the Ryan and 80.... leave by 3. Someone here said to just stay on I-57 and to exit on Vollmer road west. Is that a bad idea?

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 08:52 AM) Give me until noon. My buddy knows a backway through Homewood-Flossmoor that completely bypasses almost ALL of the traffic. I will PM it to you later. Won't work, I am leaving work at noon, but thx.

Crede has 2 herniated disks! Take it form a guy who has 1, that injury will be a problem for him the rest of the year and possibly the rest of his career unless he has surgery. Time to think back up KW. I also read that KW doesn't see any deals out there to be made.

If race is playing any part in Ozzie's decision making, then I am very dissapointed in him. If he really said that, I can't believe it came out of is mouth. :headshake :headshake :headshake :headshake :headshake :headshake

It's been a long time, how do I get there from the northside? I remember this much: Dan Ryan south, then switch to I-57 Memphis. What do I do after that? Also, I need to be there at 7:00 tonight, what time should I head out? Any other time saving shortcuts would be appreciated, thx guys.

QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 11:39 AM) Toronto is a runner for Burnett as well and they have needs in the rotation because of the injury to Halladay so I think Burnett will go to the blue jays. Money is not an issue with them... Blue Jays: Team making play for Marlins pitcher Burnett Thursday, July 14, 2005 News There are plenty of suitors for Marlins pitcher A.J. Burnett as the trade deadline nears, but the Blue Jays are one of the teams with the most realistic shot at acquiring him, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. Jays pitching coach Brad Arnsberg is one of Burnett's closest friends, dating to their partnership with the Marlins in 2002-03. Add to that the fact the Marlins covet what the Blue Jays consider a tradable commodity in pitcher Gustavo Chacin, and the Blue Jays have the ability to raise payroll as much as $30 million a year over the next two years and you have a scenario that makes sense. Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi recently called Marlins GM Larry Beinfest and told him to check back with him before dealing Burnett, so we'll see if something gets done. Views The Jays are even more desperate for quality starting pitching given the Roy "Doc" Halladay injury and Burnett would be a very solid patch to that problem, and eventual number two when Doc is able to return. If Burnett makes the move, he'll be going from an extreme pitcher's park to an extreme hitter's park which would make predicting his success much more difficult. Burnett is likely to be somewhere besides Florida when the trade deadline hits and for now, only time will tell. Not coming.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) CLIToris that's what I thought, but you have heard people say cliTORis, haven't you?

the real question is: is it pronounced CLIToris, or CliTORis?

Ugh, so sad. How much do you want to bet that the Dad is a latent homosexual and got his ass kicked a lot as a kid?

Update, my Cub fan co-worker says the call came from some crazy woman who doesn't even know Woo Woo. I guess the newspapers have been flooded with calls about Woo Woo sightings the past few days. I didn't realize it was that easy to fool the media. Hmmmmm, maybe we can have some fun at Ronnie's expense once in a while.

I was at a huge street festival a few years ago and there was a guy walking around filming. Didn't seem unusual until he happenned to be standing in front of me and I could see into his viewfinder and noticed he was zooming in on pre teen girls.....and I don't mean their faces. I tapped him on the shoulder and asked: "You working on some kind of project?" He jumped and said: "No, I just bought this camera and I'm checking it out", I said: "Huh, that's interesting". He got the point and left.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) He is a long time season ticket holder. So, he's fair game. I'd have to say something to him that would probably get me kicked out of the park. -
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) I agree with you 100% about the 2000's!!! You are not actually saying Prince didn't play anything...are you? I'm no Prince fan, but he is easily one of the greatest musicians to come onto the music scene in our generation. Like I said, the 80's had some great music, but it was ruined by the production values. I'm not defending Wham! by any means, but out of that "band" came George Michaels, and whereas I can't stand the friggin' guy's music, he has an amazing voice. Michael Jackson was not "80's", by the way. He had his biggest success then, but he was already established as a MAJOR star by then. Plus, up until the freaky things started showing up, there was no shame in Jackson at all. His stuff with the Jackson 5 is some of the best Soul Music/Pop ever produced, and that is even according to James Brown. Find me a cooler tune than "ABC", and you may only be pointing to "Tears Of A Clown" by Smokey and The Miracles. I always say that it's possible for a person to be extremely talented and still make s*** music. Our tastes in music couldn't be more opposite, but I totally respect your opinion.

I heard the teller gave him 36K. I can maybe see being afraid and giving him a few hundred just to get him to leave, but 36k ??!! I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the teller knows the robber.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) I hate when they play at the Jake because of that assclown who bangs on the bongos. THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP. Knock that racket off already. Plus the dude who does it looks like Flanders from the simpsons. ITS THE 2ND HALF, TIME TO REMIND THE INDIANS WHY THEY SUCK, EAT s*** INDIANS No s***. Is that guy just a fan?....or do the Indians pay him to do that s***? -
I don't know if the guy is on crack or not, but I know this: When I see the guy on the streets near my house, he moves very, very slowly and looks like he's about to fall over. Yet when he's at Wrigley, the guy is full of 'energy'
