  1. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 16, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) I'm thinking 5 or 6 years ago. YEP.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 16, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) The gates open an hour and a half before the game. The visiting team always takes batting practice last. If you get there when the gates open you will only see the visiting team hit in just about every park in MLB. Several years ago the White Sox actually switched and hit last so the early arriving fans would see them take BP instead of the visiting team. That was ended because the players didn't like the change in routine. It was reported that it was ended because Frank Thomas didn't like it. DING DING DING DING.
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ May 16, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) It's been like this for as long as I can remember. I've never heard of a player being to blame but this isn't something I've ever questioned. Who did you hear was to blame..? I seem to remember there was a time you could watch both teams take BP. I've always thought it was kinda lame and don't really understand why it's set up that way. I'd rather not name the player since if it is a rumor, I'd only be prepetuating it.
  4. Yep, unlike other teams, the Sox don't let you in to watch the Sox take bp. How long has this been the policy?....I heard a rumor, that it's at the request of a certain player, can anyone confirm this?
  5. Remember what happened just before we had a 'big series' with Baltimore? TB snuck up on us. Again there is a 'big series' coming up with the Cubs, we'd better not snooze with Texas.
  6. Saw 'Crash', eh I wasn't blown away.
  7. Good point. Right now Politte and Hermy are the only 2 guys in the pen that don't make me sweat when they enter the game. Everyone else is a crap shoot.
  8. Great news, get him up here, shoot up his foot and get his ass in the line up before Death and Palsy sink us.
  9. On top of getting rocked, he was yanked in the 4th for "forearm tightness'. It's only a matter of time, he's the next arm casualty.
  10. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ May 14, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) Hm, I think I've seen that porno.... I think you're thinking of 'Cockaine Addicktion'
  11. If you win, they will come. Be careful what you ask for though, you just might get it. When the local and national press begin to scrutinize Ozzie's moves and overblow players' slumps and smother the team in general, we'll see if it affects them.
  12. This record is only impressive when you look at the overall record. You could have the record and be 2-34.
  13. It's not difficult at all. When you exit Union Station, walk like 6 blocks EAST to State street. Just ask someone where State street is, or ask them which way the lake is, that will be east bound. Once you are on State street, you will see signs for the Red line subway stations. You can get on at any of the subway stations along State street. Catch the SOUTH bound train, the signs will probably say 'southbound to 95th'. Get off the train at the Sox-35th street station. That train ride is probably 15 minutes total. It's pretty simple. A someone else said, I'd make sure your Metra train runs late at night so that you don't miss it on the way home. It does take a long time to get on the red line leaving the game.
  14. I just tuned in. score? the good? the bad? the ugly?
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish @ May 13, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) He's rich b****!!! Come on Billy, what you think I didn't have playstation? Where you been darkness? I have a joke to tell you. What did the 5 fingers say to the face? SLAP!!!!!!!! Cocaine is a hell of a drug. f*** yo couch Ni**a, f*** yo couuch! It's a celebration b****es.
  16. Have any of our starters not ever batted in the majors?
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 13, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) heh, it seems like most of you guys hate Zambrano i personally love the guy, the amount of emotion he shows shows me how much he wants to win and than that 136 pitch complete game he threw was showing he is willing to put the team on his back and end the slide. Any guy with that emotion and will to win is on my favorites list... besides didnt he say before he was a white sox fan? mebe ozzie can sneak him over once his contract is up Im not 2 scared about Maddux but Prior can shut us down easy. One good thing is their offense has been as pathetic as ours... so our pitchers should be good.... just pitch around Derrick Lee That's all fine and Jim f***in' dandy about Zambrano, but if he can be 'emotional' on the mound, he shouldn't get pissed off like a 6 year old girl when an opponent shows emotion too. If a guy homers or gets a hit off of him and shows any kind of excitement, Zambrano has a s*** fit and is ready to throw at someone. That's candy ass, childish, hypocrital BS. If he can dish it out, then he should take it like a man when it comes back his way.
  18. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 13, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) He played big roles against the Cubs in every game. Hopefully, PK could show why he starts at first base against us and starts hitting for once this season. I know he was an all around Cub killer, I just didn't remember if he hit anyone particulalry better than anyone else. Someone else is gonna have to step up on O, it would be nice to see Death or Palsy earn their checks.
  19. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ May 13, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) We did well vs Zambrano last season, we hammered Maddux as well. I don't see any different this season. The only pitcher who scares me is Mark Prior. El-duque is going to need the game of his life for us to win that one. Don't recall if he played a big role in those games, but we don't have the Carlos Lee factor any more. I still think we can take 2 at Wrigley.
  20. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ May 13, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) Where can I get hi res Garland pics. I want to print one real fast. Even the one from the may calendar is good. Sorry for posting in here...I needed a fast repsone. Geez, control your chaos will ya.
  21. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 13, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) I can foresee an AJ/Zambrano moment on friday. That would be awesome! I've never seen a guy be so cocky after only 2 full seasons of good pitching.
  22. QUOTE(Sirotka33 @ May 13, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) Thats AJ being AJ. He loves to get into the other teams head. Did anyone else notice after John got the K on Tejada in the eighth how he watched AJ go back to the dugout, instead of going back to the bench. I wish I knew what he said.... Yep, Tejada looked shocked, I bet AJ told him to sit his ass down, lol.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 13, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Key is to get on these guys early. Zambrano can obviously be rattled up, so jumping on him early would be a huge boost. Same goes for Mad Dog, he seems to find his grove about the 3rd and just puts it on cruise control from there. Prior is pretty much Prior, so hopfully we catch him on an off day. Like everyone said, getting to that Cubbie pen is key. The easiest way to rattle Zambrano is to show any kind of excitement or celebration. See, Zambrano is the only player in MLB who is allowed to get pumped.
  24. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 13, 2005 -> 03:47 AM) He's dead on right about that. If Kong would start playing like it's his contract year (which it is ) and Dead would just stir in his coffin a little we'd be totally untouchable. if Garland would show Death and Palsy how he located his own scrotum, they'd be well on their way.
