  1. Interesting story....but still the worst nickname ever. IMO, of course.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 18, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) When you have something you really want to do, but you know you shouldn't, what do you do? Sounds to me that since you're even considering it, you must not have a concious ( . So do it. Can ya tell us what it is??
  3. YES. and KC would never go for it.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 17, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) does anyone have an audio of the He Gawn phrase Hawk always uses... I need one for a power point presentation in class tommorow Sounds like a great idea. Just curious, how exactly are you gonna use it?
  5. Is it not possible to be enjoying it AND have concerns? Cuz I know I'm doing both. I guess you have to fit neatly into either the apologist or Koolaid drinker categories huh?
  6. so, basically the question is: should a bussiness ever turn down money? :headshake
  7. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 17, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) I'm drinking koolaid. Anyone want some? drink up.
  8. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) Hell no. We're supposed to be 34-5 right now so we could match the best start ever. Nothing else is acceptable. In fact, 162-0 is what we're SUPPOSED to be. Otherwise, we lost. And that can't happen. God forbid people expect a lot from the team they pay money to see. Maybe we should all take the 'things could be worse, we're ok as long as we play at least .500 ball, just as long as we stay comptetitive' attitude.
  9. QUOTE(rudylaw @ May 17, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) Our offense already has problems. .........and now it's pressing. if Ozzie trots Palsy and Death out there back to back in the line up again, or if Hermy doesn't close it out, then he must be betting against his own team.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 17, 2005 -> 07:56 AM) I believe I heard the CSN will also televise Sunday's BP. This opening the gates earlier idea should be bounced off of Brooks. I'm sure he spin it to his advantage if they changed the policy. They could combo it with an 'early bird' special. For example, all concession food could 25% cheaper from the time the gates open to one hour before game time.
  11. I bet you'd only have to pay minimum wage to the guys operating the scanners.
  12. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ May 16, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) I think so. The one thing is odd is that they will wait until he is better to put him to death. I think I understand why, it just sounds odd. what do you mean??
  13. I think, as you guys have said, Palsy will give us one good half. Dye will also turn it around. However, I don't expect him to even get to his .270 career average. I'd say .240 at best, the guy has been on a steady decline the past few years. Pssssssst, hey Kenny, no more deals with Oakland. The real question is how much will these 2 hurt the team til they 'turn it around'?
  14. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 16, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) 32-6 would be the best start in baseball history by about 3 games... THERE'S A REASON FOR THAT. You have to give credit to the other teams. These are major league clubs, and nobody wins at a .900 winning percentage. I understand all of that and I stick to my opinion. It's not a complaint about our start, if anything it's a positive.
  15. I look at how many times we've beaten ourselves and think we should have 32 wins. I have yet to see a team totally dominate us to where you can say, ok that team is just better or more talented.
  16. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 16, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) Unless it was truly serious he'd never miss a chance to pitch against us. Despite his motivation to beat us I think the fact that he isin't 100% and the fact that Pods and Timo are gonna totally mess with his head will do him in, I agree, Pods will be key. If he gets on, the fat ass baby might drop down and start kicking and screaming on the hill.
  17. Update: MRI shows nothing, it's 'tennis elbow', will throw on the side tomorrow, very slight chance he'll miss a start, will probably throw against us on the weekend. Fat boy.
  18. I decided at the end of last year to take a big step back. I've decided not to go to any games and I'm not working my personal schedule around watching them on TV. Just this year. Losses are a lot easier to swallow when you haven't invested time or money into them. As my wife put it last year, this team is getting to be bad for your health.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ May 16, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) No idea.. but thank God. Also, for those of you that don't know.. the games will be broadcast with both teams announcers. So you can listen to H&DJ or those 2 morons who call the Cubs games. I think one is on WGN and the other on Comcast. Does that include the Saturday game which is on Fox?
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 16, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) This board is called the "FutureSox" Board...Maybe I could cut you some slack if it was called "Down on the Farm" but still... WE ARE WAYYYYY OFF TOPIC!!! lol, not sure HTF I did that, sorry. Someone, quick do that move over thing.
  21. As if horses weren't lucky enough to be.....well 'horses'. http://msn.foxsports.com/horseracing/story/3618790
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 16, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) Was it the Rangers? You're asking me?
  23. Paul is very streaky and the streaks can be long, that's not a secret. It doesn't help that he and Death hit back to back. If Ozzie absolutely refuses to bench them, then at leats split them up somehow in the order.
  24. Ideally, they'd open the park 10 mins. before batting practice starts, have the Sox take BP 1st, then have them stretch, sprint and sign autographs while the visiting team takes BP. Which owner was it that it MANDATORY for his entire team to sign autographs before every home game last year?
