5/25 Game Thread @ LA Angels of Anaheim
LosMediasBlancas replied to Chisoxfn's topic in 2005 Season in Review
I have been very impressed with the halos thus far in the series. Good pitching, good defense, even with 2 key players missing. This is good experience for the Sox, it might be a playoff preview. I'd be thrilled with a split. -
Sorry to say, it's happened again

Are there Sox fans out there who embrace the stereotype? There must be. -
I imagine these clowns have been locked up since the incident. Otherwise why would you wear your teams jersey to court?? http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-wrigbust25.html

How does a kid from Indiana ...

Maybe he was s***canned They will never learn, you'd think they go over that s*** with them before they give them the mic. The name of the building you are at right now is called Wrigely Field and you do know the song, right? -
Agree 100%. Uribe has NO plan at the plate, except to swing as hard as he can at everything, just in case he hits it.

QUOTE(jamalmanburg @ May 25, 2005 -> 08:04 AM) I was at the game tonight too. Upper deck, behind home, first row. Surrounded by jackasses in red shirts. They heckled the crap out of Crazy Carl during his first at bat. As soon as he hit that ball I was on my feet screaming. He shut em up quick. 1.) some orange county meathead sitting behind me was talking about how US Cellular was such a crappy ballpark. Anyone at the game might have noticed that aside from the setup behind home and the fountain in center that shoots off after every batter, the cell and angels stadium are configured almost exactly the same. Nice work angels fans. 2.) los angeles angels my ass. I live in LA. It took me an hour and a half to get out to the park tonight. And that was in light traffic. Great victory tonight. Wish it could have been at our own crappy ballpark. Welcome. There seemed to be a lot of hot chicks at the game last night. Is that true for Anaheim in general?

Daniels won't halt execution for liver donation

QUOTE(Steff @ May 24, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) No it didn't.. The judge didn't even use that as his excuse for denial. "Daniels said he found "no grounds to second guess years of court rulings or to reject the recommendation of the parole board." I understand that's what he said on the record. From the way the article reads to me, it sounds like someone questioned him about it and that's when he explains it. I agree with you, but I also see how the judge is spinning it. -

QUOTE(Steff @ May 24, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) Standard advice in any organ donation. My grandmother needed a kidney.. her doctors gave us all the same song and dance. My aunt was a match.. my grama got her kidney. All I'm saying is, it gave the judge all he needed. -
Daddy must be so proud.

Did you guys read the part about her doctors advising against him donating?.....saying she'd be better suited to go the conventional route and waiting for a complete liver. -
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ May 24, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) The best part about these "This is too obscene!" pseudo-debates that goes on nationally -- the clip gets played about 2837498237893274823473984 times on TV which means that more and more people will see the supposedly objectionable clip, including the children that groups like the PTVC pretend to want to protect. .......it surprises me that no one has put the clip up on this board yet as I'm sure it's all over the net.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 24, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) If a guy can hit .300 and play solid defense at the major league level as a first baseman, he is better than a bench player/fill in guy. The key there, btw, is the hitting better than .300 part. Playoff teams just can't afford to have a 1b who doesn't produce any offense, even if he is solid on Defense. Yeah, we already have one in the other corner of the infield. I think Gload is capable of .280 if he gets enough pt.

What else is new? Paris Hilton IS walking, talking porn. On her reality show, they had her making sausage, in the next episode, she was in a barn with a horse. C'mon, even the preacher's sons pick up on the innuendo. Why wasn't Jurassic asked to join her in the ad?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) And in honor of Kotex-Boy, I have adopted the derogatory nickname of Wrigley, "The Deadly Confines", and I encourage all to use it. As we have learned, short of using substantative arguements, use cute kitchy phrases to demoralize your enemies. The Deadly Confines........ of Wrigleyhood.

QUOTE(poorme @ May 24, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) IF gload comes back and hits .300 again this year, i'd go with him. i'd cream my shorts to see a slick fielding left handed firstbaseman on the sox. generations of sox fans don't even know what a good defensive firstbaseman looks like. Shoot, if Gload came back and did that, I'd say ship Palsy before the trade deadline. Palsy is above average to good at 1B.

So, basically caffeine is a stimulant and since kids weigh less than adults, it really gets them going. Not to mention pop contains sugar too. Wow, they pay people for this research huh?

Interesting Outside the Lines on right now
LosMediasBlancas replied to shagar69's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(shagar69 @ May 24, 2005 -> 05:02 AM) i actually think that hes right. I mean think about it. A lot of the Cubs "fans" right now are just casual sports fans, who go to a few games, but dont get too much into the teams. Both the cubs and sox have their hardcore fans, who know everything about the team, go to a lot of games, and would never switch sides, but the reason the cubs are bigger is cuz of the general sports fan, we have none of those. If we won the WS i would guarantee that these casual fans and some other baseball fans would immediatley jump on the sox bandwagon. Dream on. The casual fan needs more than baseball, that's part of what makes them casual fans. I think you might see a slight shift, but until the area around the Cell has more going on, fuhgetaboutit.
