QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) It's definitely, not defiantly. Maybe he meant defiantly.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 12:09 AM) How old is ol' Paulie? He had some nice at bats the last month and a half into the postseason. Also some high pop ups. Way high in the air. Good ole Paulie, similar to Uribe, does the good outweigh the bad? Sure he might end up hitting .280 next season, but it'll probably be 2 months of him hitting .400 and 4 months of him hitting .200. When he's not hitting and you consider that he's as fast a pregnant turtle, he's useless. So basically he kills us for 4 months. The numbers are an exaggeration, but you get the point.
-
Does the good outweigh the bad? I'd say he breaks even. Sure there are good things he brings to the team, but his approach at the plate nullifies it all, for me anyway.

How many of you recognized the doll in those new commercials as 'Mr. Bill', an old SNL character? The first time I saw it, I was in the cafeteria at work. I said: "holy crap, Mr. Bill!" All the youngins looked at each other like, what the hell is the old man all excited about.

QUOTE (SnB @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 03:46 PM) my ipod was stolen out of my car this morning, well that sucks. It sux worse for the poor bastard stuck listening to your music. Just kidding, get a new one, they're cheaper now, or upgrade.

Want to stop speeding and reduce road deaths? Quit making commercial vehicles that can go so f***ing fast. Why the f*** should a Chevy Malibu be able to hit 120? 80 MPH should be the fastest any car is able to go.

Get him a kid's Sox jersey and have them put "Chappas" on the back. Anyone? Anyone?

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) Your lineup: OC AJ JD JT PK Jr AR DW JU It's long ball or bust kiddies. Live by the sword, die by the sword Does this TB kid give up the long ball often? -
Javy got booed during introductions?
LosMediasBlancas replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
A guy who is pretty much a .500 lifetime pitcher sux? Wow. Nope Javy is a lifetime 5th starter. It's frustrating because we all see that with his stuff, he should be better, but he's not and never will be. Is that his fault? Maybe. The real fault lies in teams expecting him and paying to do more. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 11:47 AM) I will say this much and this really pains me to say, but will need Javy at some point if we're to make it to the ALCS. We can't ride 3 pitchers in a 7-game series. Of course, can't even think about that until we win two more games. Yep, you gotta dance with the girl who gave you a lift to the party.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 12:39 PM) What scares me is the proximity of myself and the knives in the kitchen when either situation occurs. I can't watch when Dotel gets the rock. If a starter craps himself, there is usually time for the team to climb back into the game. When a reliever does it.....

Do you remember when people dressed up when they traveled by plane? We put on our Sunday best. Nowadays, the girl next to you is in her slippers, pajama bottoms, t shirt, no make up and hair in a knot.

What scares you more Javy starting, or Dotel coming in with runners on?

Javy got booed during introductions?
LosMediasBlancas replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm not sure if booing him is justified or not, but it's probably not wise. Clearly the guy isn't motivated easily, booing him probably doesn't help..and he might get the ball again this season, possibly today. -
Should I blow off school work to go to the game?
LosMediasBlancas replied to WinningUgly85's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Chances are the Sox will be a part of your life longer than school, your career, maybe even some of your family. -

If we win game 4, we will win game 5. Them young boys will turn Cub like if they go to a game 5 at home. I still think TB is a paper tiger. -
The tight jeans guy usually has that haircut too. You know the one, dyed black with that swoop that comes down across one eye into a point. Very Flock Of Seagulls, fashion trends always come back around.

"Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs NLDS"
LosMediasBlancas replied to Brian's topic in The Diamond Club
All we have to do is 1 and we've done better than the Cubs. Regular season doesn't mean jack. Worse than ever, Bingo: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...mp;sportCat=mlb -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 4, 2008 -> 11:35 PM) So just now I go kind of jogging down my stairs with a bottle of wine, all excited to sit down... I hop down the last 3 stairs but didn't realize I jumped a couple inches too high and I hit my head on the top of the door frame. I fall flat on my f***ing ass and I end up sitting there for about 10 seconds stunned like omg WTF just happened? but did the wine survive the fall?

"Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs NLDS"
LosMediasBlancas replied to Brian's topic in The Diamond Club
WOW. I did not expect this. Bigger choke than 2003. I think you will see an overall drop in enthusiasm from Cub fans next year. Sure they'll still sell out most games and they'll be on their feet every time an opposing player has 2 strikes on him, but until they win the WS, everything else is crap..... and now they know it. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 10:05 PM) I disagree. Today's game was winnable folks. And if we win we're tied 1-1 and the city of Chicago is GOING NUTS over our chances. We'd get homefield vs. Boston. We came out today and had great momentum early. We loaded the bases for godsakes and their pitcher was horribly wild and shaky. I may be FOS but I thought OC shoulda been sent from second on the single to set an aggressive tone for godsakes. (Though Fathom just told me OC had a bad ankle and couldn't score so my bad, there). Be that as it may we get 2 meager runs. Just two. And Kasmir Sweater continued to suck in the second inning. We still had mild control and Lexi makes a dumb dumb throw basically giving the Rays their first run when Mark woulda cruised out of that inning still us up, 2-0. Two runs in the first like somebody said ... not enough ... set tone for a disastrous hitting performance. Why in god's name does Juan fricking Uribe swing so hard??? Just drill the ball to right field instead of making out after out with men on base (nice single late though as he finally got a hit). And Reddy with all due respect how the heck do you still love Swish??? He did get on base the first three times up which is very nice, but I dunno what he was thinking on that at bat where he whiffed and failed to be a hero (again). "....Why in god's name does Juan fricking Uribe swing so hard??? Just drill the ball to right field instead of making out after out with men on base (nice single late though as he finally got a hit)...." In case the ball happens to hit his bat, he wants to make sure it travels very far and hopefully not near a fielder. Remember Juanito is a 'free swinger' and has a hell of a glove. These two facts wipe out everything he does wrong with the bat in his hands.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) man, do I know what youre talking about, I used to be able to drink heavy for a week straight with no repercussions. Now, if I get drunk I have a hang over for two days and the worst anxiety. Im 26, Id say Ive had that since I was about 24. The evil 24 hour hangovers didn't happen to me til after 30. Alcohol just makes me sleepy now. I can't stay awake long enough to get drunk.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:17 PM) HA! That hen would HATE me. I just retired the Slayer t-shirts a couple years ago. I wear jerseys or team/band t-shirts just about everywhere, and I only wear dress shoes to work, weddings and funerals. Guess that makes me a 150 year old boy. Yeah, I gave up on band t shirts a while back. I still wear t shirts from all the different rock clubs I've been to, but even that is kinda rare.
