When is it right for everything to taste like bacon?
LosMediasBlancas replied to RockRaines's topic in SLaM
QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 11, 2008 -> 12:01 PM) I can only eat bacon alone,I dont want it in a sandwhich, mixed in with eggs, and I cant stand it on hamburgers. Same here, a few slices with my breakfast, but not mixed in.....and it has to be extra crispy. Most places under do it and then it's too much like eating pure flab. -
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Nov 11, 2008 -> 12:28 PM) They wanted to fight the feeling to get screwed up, and then they were going to f***. I don't understand that at all. Funny film and yes the kid was hilarious.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) Role Models was probably the funniest movie of the year thus far. Why? because the actors took a really clever story and made characters you actually gave two s***s about. It probably revives Sean William Scott's career. Paul Rudd showed that he could carry a movie in addition to his usual "im the quikry sidekick role" (in comedy's anyway). Bobbe Thompson was great, and actually the only actor that dissapointed somewhat was Christopher Mint-Plasse (McLovin) who didn't add much to the role. The actor who stole the show for me was Jane Lynch, who delivered such an off the wall reform drug addict performance that I was rolling in the aisle a couple of times. This film worked, because it didn't rely specifically on the circumstance to generate laughs. The premise has been done before many times, but "role models" developed the characters enough to where the jokes seemed to flow easily from the story, and didnt seem forced. At the end of the day, a well developed story with dick jokes trumps a story where extra dick jokes are needed to justify a s***ty story (see zack and miri). This is a must see in my opinion... 3.5/4 Great film Why did he take the sleeping pills before hooking up with that chick? I missed that.

If there are any boxing fans on here, you'll remember what a great fighter Jones was at one time. He was pound for pound the best in the sport. He was running out of people to fight. Then he got knocked out. Not your regular knockout, I mean he got put to sleep, motionless on the mat. The ref could have counted to a million, it wouldn't have mattered.... and then it happened AGAIN... in his very NEXT fight. I've never seen an athlete go from to the top of his sport, to rock bottom pretty much overnight.

With so many huge issues needing to be resolved, Obama has an almost, almost impossible task at hand. If/when he is unable to fix everything overnight, opponents will be all over him with the 'see, told you he was bad idea' attitude. This country is in panic mode and extremely impatient over a lot of issues. The economy being at the top. He needs to work quickly and swiftly. Unfortunately, I see a Rep reclaiming the throne is 2012 and 2016. I hope I'm wrong.

'When a man loves a woman'. The scene where Andy Garcia has to tell his kids that he and Meg Ryan are splitting up.

Last night I had a dream that I was sitting at a movie theater between Robert Downey Jr. and Leo DiCaprio. We were old friends talking about stupid s*** and everyone else in the theater was oooing and aaahing them. I think they're decent actors, but I'm not a huge fan and I certainly don't spend any time thinking about them or their work. Weird.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 10:53 PM) It used to happen to me before. I would feel like I'm awake but unable to move at all. Happened much more frequently when I was younger as I cannot recall it happening in the past few years. I remember starting off slowly by trying to move just a finger. There were very few times where I would be able to get out of it and finally move and get up and go to the bathroom or something, and there were mostly times where I would just eventually fall back asleep. The very scary part is just how helpless one feels. I think part of it was my poor sleeping habits. Also, in Mexican and other cultures, it's said that it is a ghost or spirit holding you down. Definitely not a completely uncommon occurrence. I think you're talking about something different. Some people describe feeling a 'weight' on top of them that makes it impossible for them to move. Then suddenly, the weight (ghost) is lifted off of them and they are able to move around freely.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 01:00 AM) No, thats 4 Hearts on Fire montage, greatest montage ever "I muhs brayyk yoo" Dolph Lungren was basically Lerch from The Adams Family in that film.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 11:22 PM) Rocky IV, greatest movie of all time I got as far as the one with Dolph Lungren, was that 3? After that it got pretty silly. The original is a classic.

My two favs: "I'm here about the blow job" "As Seen In Porn"

I'm old enough to remember watching 'Rocky' when it first came out. I've watched it two other times, most recently a few days ago on AMC. If you can look past the tough guy rah-rah BS, at it's core, that film is a love story... and damn good one. Talia Shire should have won the Oscar that year.

For me, it's specific scenes in certain films. Anyone remember 'Awakenings' with DeNiro and Robin Williams? The scene where DeNiro finally 'awakes' and greets his mom.

Why is there a mug shot of some lesbian in a story about John Daly? -

QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) Hey, we don't allow homosexuals to vote do we??!! This became so absurd I can't take it seriously. Nope. We don't want to take the chance they might go into a booth together. -

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 11:04 AM) I have a hunch that female and homosexual are on the same level. The American people are scared to death of women and homosexuals in positions of power. I have no idea why, but that just seems to be the case and for probably different reasons. I think Hispanic is the next in line...after that, who knows. I'd say Hillary and Palin's nominations blow that theory to s***. Didn't you sell all the 'Palin in 2012' signs? Sure they didn't make it to the presidency, but do you see a homosexual even making the ticket? It won't happen for quite a while and that generation will look back on us and laugh. Kind of how we look back and think 'Can you believe there was a time when women and blacks were not allowed to vote??!!' People evolve, most just aren't there yet. -

I think it will be Female Latino other ethnic minority homosexual....and this will NEVER happen. Nothing brings people together like homophobia. A guy will hate you for your race, but he might shake your hand for hating gays. -
The first time I watched 'Life Is Beautiful', I really enjoyed it. The second time it came across as so far fetched that it was almost comical. Never had such a swing in reaction to a film before.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 10:23 AM) By default even if not in reality, because one of them has never been a president or even VP before. The definition of "minority" when we talk about the president is very broad, basically anything that's not a white male, which every president in history has been up to now. * A subordinate group whose members have significantly less control or power over their lives than members of a dominant or majority group. Not limited to mathematical minority: example women, Blacks in South Africa... -
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 08:21 AM) Movies that always get me are ones that involve some realtionship with children and parents. The Champ was a big one, but it doesn't even have to be a sad part for me. Hell, I got choked up at the end of Armageddon, when the little boy ran to his dad when he got off the shuttle. 'I am Sam', another Sean Penn gem is in that category.

Too lazy to read 5 pages. What will happen to those gay marriages in Cali.? Void, invalid?...or are they valid since they got in under the wire?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 11:33 AM) Has anybody here ever heard the Black National Anthem? The last line of the song is "Let us march on, 'till victory is won." Someone sent that to me in an e-mail today and the lyrics to the song look deeper than they ever did before. The HS I went to was about 80% African American during the time I was there. I learned that song and always wondered what there is about the lyrics that makes it the 'Black NA.' Great song, for everyone.

Now that we have our first black pres., which do you think will come next? a female? a Latino? a member of another race, Asian, Middle Eastern, etc a homosexual?
