  1. Tough one since I'm not a parent. Have him skip school that day, take him to Grandstand and buy him some Sox gear. Seriously though, ask him what he wants to do. Kids are the most bandwagon fans of all. He might actually claim to be a Cub fan right now and who cares, he's only in 3rd grade.
  2. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 02:09 PM) Yur lucky you used green!!! In all honesty, I'm terrible with lyrics. You and I both. I thought that "Papa Don't Preach" song by Madonna said "Coppertone Beach" and Journey's "Open Arms" was "Broken Arms".
  3. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 12:16 PM) ok, I know this is so gay, but whatever... what is the name of the Enrique Iglesias song that starts off with the ping pong ball being hit? If you give him some of the lyrics I bet Kid Gleason knows it.
  4. I caught this last night too, cool show. My wife is a chef, so the Food Network is on 24/7 at our house.
  5. ooops just noticed this is in another thread.
  6. Give Rex four starts, then go to the back up. Rex spent most of the off season learning to scramble? Really??
  7. Anyone catch "Dinner Impossible" on the Food Network last night? They were at the Cell. A chef had to take ball park food and create a gourmet meal with it for a private party. Of course he only had 7 innings to do it in.
  8. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) So, how about an update? Your body hate you? Mine does just after reading that post. I couldn't get otta bed this morning and was slugish all day. I ate well today and I'm only having Miller Lite tonight.
  9. Dinner was a single combo from Wendy's, washed down with sugar water, aka lemonade. Dessert was two Reeses peanut butter cups and now I'm cracking open a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. My body will hate me in the morning.
  10. Actually, the reviews are split, so I guess that means bad.
  11. Thought this deserved it's own thread, sorry if it's already been written about. I like the Beatles, but I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but I do have a great deal of respect for their contributions. I think all things Beatles are pretty sacred and so I hope this film doesn't suck. From what I've read, there is very little dialouge and most of the story is told (sung) through Beatles lyrics. By the way, the girl in the film is Marilynn Manson's GF. http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_picture...verse/high.html
  12. I like em both, but I prefer TD, thx. I like MS a lot more if I don't have to look at them. The Steven Tyler schtick is tired.
  13. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 10:32 PM) Ramping the obscurity level down by about 25%... I finally heard Sufjan Stevens (Illinoise), and I loved it. It's like Nick Drake on his meds, having fun just one f***ing time. Just great. Otoh, Arcade Fire -- I don't get all the fuss... Exhibit A. Sufjan Stevens Exhibt B. The Arcade Fire but I don't worry about the Arcade Fire, they're on their 14th minute of fame
  14. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) Midnight Scraper "Glam"? They are listened to by the Glam community, but they are direct descendents of The Stones and Faces musically. I'll keep posting links if you want. I can't stand the mellow, weepy stuff. A couple per week would be nice. It's a lot to digest at once. Thx. I remember back in the late 80's when the passing of the torch happened from the LA strip music scene to Seattle, I think it was Tommy Lee who called the new 'altena-grunge' movement 'revenge of the nerds'. I thought that was pretty funny. If 90's grunge was nerdy and dickless, what would he call the stuff nowadays??
  15. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 11:32 AM) Would you like me to start listing RnR bands? http://www.tokyodragons.com/ http://www.supagroup.com/ http://www.midnightscraper.com/ http://www.myspace.com/theurgencies http://www.thecompulsionsnyc.com/ http://www.myspace.com/thevalentinefailures You can also buy this wonderful magazine that covers NOTHING BUT ROCK AND ROLL!!! http://www.myspace.com/sonicruin One of the best record labels out there right now, and based in Chicago, has some killer bands: http://www.fullbreach77.com/kicks/news.html What you have noticed though is why I rarely post in this thread. Nobody seems interested in full blooded RnR on this site. Supagroup was enjoyable, the rest are a little too...borderline glam rock for me, but at least is has balls. I'm tired of candy ass, cry baby, folky s***. Thx man.
  16. I'm a lot older than most of people on here and I'm out of touch with a lot of things, so I rely on you guys for information. It seems like 90% of the time that I hear or read a recommendation for 'a great new band', it's always down tempo, acoustic, folky type s***. WTF happened to rock n roll music? Do you sit around at parties and listen to this down tempo s***? I don't mean to knock it, I'm just curious.
  17. NO. This team might have more holes and question marks than it has things to feel confident about.
  18. Man the Cardinals are dissapointing me more than the Sox this year. Not sure why, but I thought they'd catch fire in Sept.
  19. This guy was probably the victim of a crime, has never been laid and has a 3 inch cock.
  20. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 24, 2007 -> 07:58 PM) qwerty would kill for that job, he loves Vida Greatest ass, face of a swamp donkey.
  21. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 14, 2007 -> 07:56 AM) This is almost too creepy to be as funny as it should be: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/23055/ I hope that kid is acting, so I can think of these videos as some of the funniest and best peformances ever.
  22. THAT should run on a constant loop on our home page. I can't get the lump otta my throat. Thank you.
  23. Whatever happened to Michael J. Fox? He was everywhere for a while and now out of sight? Did he die?
