  1. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 02:23 AM) I don't know, but Yeah, I suppose he does talk a lot about getting with some VERY hot women. He's always cock blocking on Bret, but never seems to get any himself. "Business time, it's time for busines"
  2. Anyone go to Lolla this year?
  3. QUOTE(Soxy @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) I got the soundtrack for the movie "Once" the major musician in it is the lead singer of the Irish Band The Frames. It's great--lovely melancholy music. I love it. I also am really digging the OBC recording of "Spring Awakening" it's very un-Broadway-y. A little raunchy--but the music is great. Great soundtrack, but the film felt like a 2 hour music video.
  4. Back when MB re-signed, I said KW must have given him the impression that the Sox were going to try to come back strong in 08. Kind of like when he told Paulie we were getting Thome. Otherwise it really doesn't make any sense for MB to have re-signed. Now, 'interested in' and 'going after' are VERY different from actually signing players. I think MB will be dissapointed.
  5. Level with us, is it her ass, her tits, or her face you like? Based on what you've told us, it can't possibly be anything else.
  6. QUOTE(Linnwood @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 11:32 PM) You have got to be kidding me! If his wife and kids are so delicate then they shouldn't go out in public. My, what a thin skinned culture we have. Even if Bonds is a steroid user, cheater, liar, racist, a-hole, he is still a husband and a father. Part of being a man is to respect that about other men. So, when his wife and kids are at a game to celebrate his accomplishment and some f***ball is booing and giving him the finger, yeah I think that's disrespectful. Obviously, his family is not thin skinned or they wouldn't continue to go to the games. That's not the point. Disagree if you like.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 07:35 PM) The most surprising thing about the movie was the way the crowd took to the jokes. I just can't believe some of the things people will laugh at, I suppose the Simpsons name can make anything funny. On an unrelated note I picked up Hot Fuzz this morning. God damn is that a terrific movie and even better seeing it for the second time. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are awesome as usual and Timothy Daulton is hilarious as the slasher (of prices of course.) After dropping $9.50 for a movie, and another $15.00 on food, a lot of people have to fool themslves into thinking they're getting their money's worth.
  8. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 07:40 PM) So people should be shielded from criticism if their family is around? Should police officers take back arrest warrants if the kids are home? C'mon GP, you're comparing apples to oranges. But to answer your question, yes I do think there is a time and a place and a way to some handle things.
  9. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 07:07 PM) But they've always "kicked pretty hard". I have no time for them though. I saw them back in '86 and Jourghensen (sic) was such a raging dickhead I chose to never give them a second chance. Best part of it was the idiot, after pissing off the audience for 3+ hours, decided to do a stage dive. Right into the middle of a pack of skinheads. Like I said, this was 1986...in Chicago. It took the better part of 5 minutes to get his worthless butt out of the audience. When they finally did he was slightly bloodied. I think the name of the bar was 'Delilah's' and they had punk rock Thursdays. One night I saw Jourghensen walk into that bar carrying one of those Dr.'s medicine bags and headed straight to a back room. I wonder what he was up to.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 05:19 PM) I would criticize this post, but I'm pretty sure your wife and kids are reading over your shoulder. That's funny. I won't try to convince anyone to like Bonds, or to like the fact that he's gonna break the record, but some things you just shouldn't do.
  11. 'El Cantante' with J-Lo and Marc Anthony was surprisingly good. Although it helps if you're a fan of Hector Lavoe's music going into it.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 04:30 PM) Actually its called Sons of Hollywood and it involves Aaron Spellings kid too. Tori ??
  13. QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 09:06 AM) Just got my hands on the new Ministry. It's called The Last Sucker, and it's the final piece of Jourgensen's Bush-bashing trilogy. I really like the disc, and the Bush bashing is a little less in-your-face than the last two discs. Good stuff. I thought they were done like 10 years ago. wow.
  14. My wife introduced me to "John Doe" about 10 years ago. He was one of the neighborhood kids and one of my brother in law's best friends. He is an amazing artist who, like a lot of guys in their 20's, likes to party and once in a while runs into some trouble. He'll give you the shirt off his back if you need it. Before we moved out to Cali., I asked him if he could bring us some empty boxes from his job. The next morning, there was a huge pile of flattened out boxes on our lawn, more boxes than we would ever need, lol. That's the kind of guy he is. Yet there is something behind those big, blue eyes, a distant.... pain. Three years ago, he met a woman, fell in love, got married and had a baby daughter. I ran into him about two years ago and he talked about how happy he was with his new family, but again those eyes told a different story. About six months ago, I asked my brother in law how "John" was doing, as I noticed he didn't mention him anymore. All he said was that he was "that guy is all f***ed up", I wasn't sure what he meant and I didn't push it. I assumed he meant hard drugs. Yesterday my wife walks into the room and says "John Doe is dead". "Heroin O.D"? I asked. She nodded and sobbed uncontrollably for the next 20 minutes. "John Doe" 32 years young, was found dead, outside on someone's back porch two days ago. R.I.P.
  15. QUOTE(Cali @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 12:24 PM) Saw Superbad the other day. Freakin hilarious stuff. If you're a fan of Knocked Up, 40 year old Virgin etc., you'll like it. Seth Rogen and Bill Hader (Criminally under used on SNL) as the 2 cops almost steal the show. I might go see it again, just to see them rock the s***. When did that hit the theaters ?
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 11:28 AM) If you have seen anything of Sean Stewart on his stupid reality show, the guy doesnt have the coordination to punch anyone at all. He is nothing like the boys in the 60's. Reality show?
  17. I bet the bodyguard is to protect people from this Stewart kid.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 07:40 PM) Well, if you believe Rollling Stone magazine John Mayer is considered one of the new "Guitar Gods." Just for note, whomever was Jeff Beck's bass guitarist (I'm guessing his daughter) was unbelievable. She can't be more than 15 or 16 years old. Pfft. John Mayer has a few decent tunes, but c'mon. Just because at times the guy is trying his hardest to sound like Stevie Ray Vaughn doesn't mean he's succeding.
  19. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 05:18 PM) Im looking forward to seeing sunshine, I posted the trailer for it a few weeks ago. Looks very interesting Just watched the extended trailer. Director+cast I've never heard of+"5th crew member"=good idea turned monster movie= dissapointing rental.
  20. QUOTE(Markbilliards @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 10:08 AM) My worst nightmare would be if he signed with the Cubs. Oh gosh I'd hate that. However I'm pretty sure they must be close to not having much more money.... He'd look great anywhere else in the NL Central though.
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) At Toyota Park (in Bridgeview) on July 28 is the second 'Crossroads' tour headlined by Clapton. I don't believe tickets go on sale until March 31. Several quality performers: Eric Clapton Steve Winwood BB King Willie Nelson Jeff Beck Vince Gil Sheryl Crow Buddy Guy John Mayer Other artists will be announced at a late day. $90 for tickets, but free for me because there's no way I'm avoiding work on this day. Are Winwood, Nelson, Gil, Crow and Mayer guitar legends?? I'm gonna go with hell no, but I guess they had to sell tix somehow.
  22. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 01:37 PM) Automatic Music Explosion, my best band of 2007 so far, playing MONDAY night in LA. Angelenos, you should come. they are so good it's f-ing scary. Why are all their shows free? For a new band with only an EP, they sure are getting a lot of hype. I've never seen them live, but based on what I've heard, I kinda like them. At least the music has balls.
