QUOTE(Cali @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 11:50 AM) Going to see Silverchair on Saturday \m/ wow, I remember when those guys were children (Frogstomp??) and then I quit following them. Didn't even know they were still together.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 11, 2007 -> 11:50 AM) I don't know what you're thinking, but personally I don't care if she was screwing the guy or not. My concern lies with the welfare of her children. The guy is suspected of murdering someone... you don't put your minor children in a situation to be around someone like that regardless if there were 800 other kids and adults there. Though I am probably a tad bit over sensitive about stuff like this at this present time. ..now take that one step further, she was screwing the guy AND his wife goes missing. Hmmmm. What she did was stupid because you'd better believe the investigators will be all over her now.

It's too easy and dangerous to run wild with specualtion on her involvment here, but I'm sure you're all thinking some of the same things I am.

'Basically', the most overused word in the English language. I was speaking with a woman the other day and she (basically) started every answer with "basically". Accents? People out here say their Os like awws. So, 'It's really hawwt out today" and "I spoke with my Mawwm the other day" and "hey Tawwd, you have a phone call". I think that's a Cali. thing.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 06:24 PM) The miracles of modern science. Joe Crede will recover fully from back surgery and hopefully sign for 3 or 4 or 5 years more with the Sox. Neither of those is even probable yet.

Was it poor judgement for her to go to the house ? I don't think so. The fact that she got in the pool was a bad idea though. Is Jacobson married?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) No but I would deal him at the deadline. Fields is the future at 3B. I agree. I meant will another GM throw a lot of loot at him?
-
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) What blind idiot will sign Crede and his back to a huge contract? What if he has a very good, injury free 08, would you do it?
-
Of course Boras is predicting a full recovery for Joe. I hope Joe comes back at 100%. If not this year, definately for 08. Do it Joe.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 06:25 PM) or cause its seems like it will be built up so much, a complete bust. It's a monster, so I'm gonna go with complete suckfest. Although it might rake at the box office.

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 09:36 AM) Late 20's early 30's. The guy he was with was a bit older, maybe late 40's. He nudged him when the movie ended, but the guy wouldn't open his eyes. You got some big balls there CC, putting your hands on someone you know nothing about.

QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 02:37 AM) lolz at people who think books are better than movies I think books are more personal in that you have to picture a lot of things for yourself. Sometimes people are dissapointed when things in a film don't match how they pictured them when they read the book and that causes them to say the book was better. By they way, watched 'Once' tonight. Good film, with very good music. It's probably 60% music, so it's basically a musical and you should be prepared for that going into it.

Mark Buehrle Agrees to 4-yr, 56 mil with escalator clause

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) I'm slightly surprised. Way to go Sox, way to go Kenny. So the Sox won't suck ass for the next few years. I'm surprised Mark signed and that's because I believe the Sox WILL suck ass for the next few years. I hope it means KW assured Mark that he has some major plan up his sleeve to improve the team for 08. Kind of like Paulie staying partly because he knew Jimmy was coming. -
QUOTE(Shanks @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) Local H is a phenomenal pair of musicians AMEN!

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 11:43 AM) I didn't see this anywhere, and don't really know where to put the thread, so here is as good as anywhere else. Check out the "ad" at Local H's website: http://www.localh.com/ On July 14th the Sox are holding The Nike+ Rock N Run, which starts at Old Comiskey's home plate, ends inside USCF and is followed by a free concert by Local H. Sounds like fun! Holy Crap, I miss all the fun. I hope the White Sox did their homework on this band. Scottie's lyrics aren't pg-13 and he doesn't compromise them for anyone. A few years ago the organizers of a street fest pulled the plug on them during a show when they were asked to chill out on the profanity and of course they refused.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 08:40 PM) I dont know exactly what safety precautions are taken but I would have to think they at least sign liability waivers. at the end of the event you can see him throw up and eat it in a futile attempt not to be disqualified. Hes eating it for about a minute after its over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKqaX9HmQgw I say within the next 12 months someone's stomach or intestines explode during one of these events. It's no different than that 'hold your wee for a wii' non sense.

Um, I've watched these events a few times and no one ever mentions that doing that s*** cannot possibly be good for you. Do they puke or s*** it all out afterwards?? Are the examined by doctors before and after the event? This 'sport' will come to a tragic end.

I've never owned a digital camera because the technolgy is tough to keep up with. I won't drop $500.00 on a camera only to have them come out with a better one the following week. In a few months, camera models are damn near obsolete.

Leavin tomorrow for SD and then down to Mexico until the 5th. Will FINALLY be going home Sept. 3rd to the 10th. Since everyone hates the team right now, I should have no problem getting tix from you guys, right?
-
Has anyone watched 'Stay' with Ewan McGregor? It's always on really late, so I've never gotten all the way through it. Should I rent it?

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 01:39 PM) yeah, its about 5 million less than what he could make per year on the open market, but not all baseball players are greedy snobs, some are just good guys. if I'm Mark, I'd take a good look at the Chicago White Sox of the next 4 years and I'd bolt asap.....and it would have nothing to do with greed.

ST. PETERSBURG -- A report coming Wednesday morning from WSCR 670 AM, the White Sox flagship radio station, of a new multi-year deal close to being agreed upon between the White Sox and Mark Buehrle would not be confirmed by the team. "There's no official announcement," a White Sox team spokesman said. "Anything else is speculation." The radio station's report was that Buehrle and the team were on the verge of agreeing to a four-year, $50 million deal, quite a turnaround from this past weekend, when the left-hander's name was in the news as the top target on Major League Baseball's open market. Buehrle has made no secret of his desire to stay in Chicago, trying to finish his career with the team with which he started, a sentiment seemingly echoed by the White Sox organization and Buehrle's teammates. Even when general manager Ken Williams was grilled Sunday about the possibility of trading Buehrle, he sounded as if it would be a tough move to make. "It will be more difficult personally than from a business perspective -- a lot more difficult personally," said Williams on Sunday. "Because I like the man and I like his wife. "I've sat with his mother and father. It was just last week he showed me the ultrasound of his baby. Yeah, it will be more difficult. Baseball-wise, you've got to do what you've got to do sometimes. "Like I said, it still has to be something that, with anybody out there, it's got to be something that makes sense for us, both in the short term and the long term before we go down the road," Williams added. "It's not a given that will happen." Basically, Williams "asked for the moon," according to one source, for a talented contributor such as Buehrle and certainly didn't have to move Buehrle if his asking price was not met. Buehrle's strong start to 2007 includes a no-hitter thrown against Texas on April 18, and a 4-4 record with a 3.39 ERA entering Wednesday night's trip to the mound at Tropicana Field. Buehrle has fanned 60 and walked 17 this season over 93 innings. This impressive bounceback effort from Buehrle's rough finish to the 2006 season, coupled with the White Sox presently sitting 12 1/2 games out of a playoff spot, started the rumor mill churning. Teams have shown interest in other White Sox players, with Williams stating over the weekend that 10 individuals on the team had been asked about. A pitcher such as Jose Contreras, signed through 2009 and set to earn $10 million in each of the next two seasons, might be more of an attractive value than Buehrle for teams who need pitching and want to have contractual control of the hurler. As for Buehrle, the possible new deal could come just a few weeks ahead of the birth of the first son for the pitcher and his wife, Jamie. Buehrle recently told MLB.com that his impending family addition didn't cause him to have any more in-depth talks with Williams about speeding up the trade process to get his family settled. "I can't really say, 'If you are going to trade me, trade me before she is due or after she is due,'" said Buehrle recently with a smile. "We didn't plan it too good, probably the worst time of the year, either now or during the World Series. We have to deal with it."
