My plans for today were: Go to Sears and buy a flatscreen TV that goes on sale today Talk to my neighbor about a car he's selling Drive 30 mins to an outlet mall to buy some summer clothes Lay by the pool TV is not in stock, not sure how it can be out if the sale started today. Car? sold Trip to the mall? Temp is 75 degrees but 40 MPH winds and blowing sand, "stay off I-10" the tv guy says. Lay pool side? Temp is 75 degrees but 40 MPH winds and blowing sand....and an ACTUAL drizzle. It's 1:50 pm and my day is over.

Last night while watching one of my favorite Sean Penn movies, I realized that Jack Black (of all people) is in it. Name the film.

How quickly and coveniently you guys choose to forget Minister Louis Farahkan. So um no, black people cannot say whatever they want and get away with it. Sure Farahkan has never apologized and his number of followers has not decreased, but by no means has he gotten a free pass from the media. I don't see the comments Imus made as racist, the 'ho' part is what was waaaaaay out of line. Calling a woman you don't know anything about a whore is about the lowest, easiest thing you can do.

QUOTE(shipps @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:01 PM) Has anyone gone to the Body works exhibit? It looks to be pretty interesting. Saw it two years ago, it is awesome. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 02:12 PM) Ya, that show looks pretty insane. I think the premier was last night, I missed it. The interesting thing is to see the different ways that people react to pain. A couple of guys get up and just say: "aw crap, I broke my arm in four places" and some guys look like they're gonna die.

Has anyone seen the previews for 'Scarred'? I'm not at all squemish and I almost puked watching them the other night. Holy Crap.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) My bigger problem is not so much with the overly pc reaction (though I think it's unneccessary), but it is with how it is selectively enforced. For instance, Jesse Jackson once referred to New York as hymie town, and the backlash was minimal. In fact, when a white person makes an insulting reference to blacks (eg. Michael Richards), he is for some reason expected to apologize to the black community through Jesse. Al Sharpton has done similar things, and yet Imus is expected to apologize on Sharpton's show. A few weeks back I heard Chris Rock on Dan Patrick and saw him on Letterman, and he did quite a bit of his material that portrays whites as evil. He gets a pass? What's the difference - skin color? Enough already. Imus is an idiot. Quit watching him and he'll go away. He's at death's door as it stands, anyway. I see your point. The backlash from Jesse's comments was NOT minimal. That comment along with his marital infidelity pretty much sealed his fate as an ass clown. Minister Farahkan has been crucified for the things he's said. Everyone has the right to not apologize for the things thay say. -

I get every Dodger game and a few Angels games. I rarely get the rest....unless it's against the Dodgers or Angels of course. -
I gave up.....and your clues suck
-
OK, so Ozzie sux, Pods sux and Jenks sux. Well it's 7 games into the season and I guess I have no reason to follow the team the rest of this season. Thank God you some of guys are here to show me the light.

I agree that we are overly PC, but this is not one of those situations. If you guys were at work, in a meeting let's say and you used the term 'f**ged out', you would expect there to be no repercusions??? I'm not saying Packer should be crucified, but there is no way you can use that word during a TELEVISED interview, in that context and not expect some heat. -
Great show, last night didn't exactly blow me away though. If they all grew up together, how come only 'Turtle' has the NY accent?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 03:12 PM) Actually I can. He gave a definition for the word he used, that definition makes NO sense when substituted into the comment. Therefore either he just has terrible grammar and should be pulled off TV because he doesn't know how to talk or he's lying. I never even said I had a problem with what he said, I just hate the fact that he's lying to cover his ass. He isn't even going to face any sort of suspension for what he said, just own up you pussy. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 12:52 AM) Since when does 'f**' mean 'lazy'? The closest thing you can get to that is 'exhausted' and that makes NO sense in this context. ...and even if you play along and believe that he meant 'exhausted', who the hell uses that word in that way?? -

QUOTE(thefaint287 @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 11:06 AM) well I do it like this...... start out with the heaviest you can lift to do 10 reps max then do two sets. then lower the weight and do two more sets all the way down to where you cant do another. work it til exaustion. I can see how that would work, I'd still throw in a warm up set at the beginning though. It's easier to injure yourself if you jump right under heavy weight.....then again I'm a lot older than you guys , so I fall apart more quickly.

Has anyone caught any of the 'Planet Earth' series on the Discovery channel? I'm addicted.
