Joshua Tree, but again NOT in the summer.

Went to a pro tennis match for the 1st time last night. Saw Andy Roddick spank some French kid named Gasquet in under an hour and fifteen mins. I learned that if you need to get to the restroom or back to your seat, you have about 15 seconds to do it.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 02:14 PM) Why were the police the ones taking the ball gag out of his mouth? That's just a writer going for a cheap, easy punch line.

This is the 20th year of the SXSW fest. Wow, I'm old.

I'm bored, so I'll dump gas on it. What does this have to do with his ability to do his job??

Hall sounds llike he's trying to make himself out to be some kind of a hero. As if in that millisecond he was thinking about the history of the game and saving the game from a black eye. Puh-leez, it just sounds like he panicked, didn't know what to do and threw part of the bat away. The fricking bat shattered and cork went flying everywhere. Sammy woulda been busted no matter what Hall did or didn't do.

If you guys are gonna do your usual stepping out onto the ledge again, at least wait until the new pavement I put down for 2007 is dry.

Put me down for lowering the standard on this one. I'm not expecting '300' to change my life. I'll be happy with some cool eye candy.

What happened to Cotts' 'sneaky speed'?

San Diego is the coolest city in Cali. SF is cool for about a day and a half, then you realize it's reallly small and that it's chilly and rainy pretty often. L.A. is wierd, there is no real neighborhood feel to it. The old and the new are thrown together everywhere.

Just got back from Tucson, not much to report. Jenks looks leaner Pauly looks bulkier and slower Ran into AJ after he got hurt and pulled from Thursday's game, he stopped and signed autographs for like 10 minutes, even though he was hobbling and clearly in a lot of pain. The stories are true, what a jerk he is. Oh and Tucson is still a lame city with more traffic than I remember. -
Worst Sportscaster ever is back?

I had never heard all the details about the teleprompter being broken or the cards being out of whack. All this time I've been thinking the kid got so nervous when the cameras came on that he forgot how to read. Now that it makes sense, it's not nearly as funny. -
QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 11:21 PM) I've held out from downloading the leak, but thats what I've heard. The reviews I've seen have been unanimously positive (with the exception of rolling stone), but nobody is hailing it as a masterpiece I'm not really convinced they could ever come out with an album as good as Funeral anyways, so its atleast good that their 2nd effort is still good that is one leak that I didn't hold out on since theres so much time to wait for the official release there is really a completely different sound for the band in this album its very light and mellow, but I'm still trying to decide if thats a good thing for me FWIW http://www.popmatters.com/pm/music/reviews...ire-neon-bible/

Where is this A Rod to the Cubs in '08 rumor coming from? A Rod might be unhappy in NY and loves Pinella, is that all? QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 08:50 AM) Anyone see Zambrano's quote gauranteeing the World Series this year. Luke Stuckmeyer reported it on Sportsrise this morning Holy Crap, that's golden. I'm gonna print it, take it to Kinko's, have it blown up poster size and bring it to Wrigley in late September.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 01:28 AM) Off the top of my head? Two have already been mentioned: Nick Cave in Adaptation (Spike Jonze) and Raising Arizona (Joel and Ethan Coen). Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love (P.T. Anderson). Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Michel Gondry, more importantly Charlie Kaufman). John Travolta in Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino). Bill Murray, although funny, doesn't do much ACTING in any films but Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic (Wes Anderson) and Lost in Translation (Sophia Coppola). And some no name actors? Elephant (Gus Van Sant), United 93 (Paul Greengrass), Bottle Rocket--Luke and Owen Wilson were NOTHING before this movie (Wes Anderson), and countless foreign films. I can continue going if you'd like. Hollywood has RUINED THE ART. Most American cinema is complete s*** compared to some of the film that is going on in the rest of the world. The Hollywood actor, the Hollywood production company have ruined American film. Do you think good actors can also sometimes carry a film that has weak writing or directing?

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 01:56 PM) The only good movies he's been in were powered by good writers and or directors. People give the actors/actresses waaaay too much credit. A good director can work with somebody with very little to no talent and not only make it work, but make it work great. some examples?

QUOTE(Soxy @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 01:19 PM) I was thinking more along the lines of meth. But preggers is a good guess too. . . Meth and two boyfriends who pushed them to do it. "Cobb police do not know how their teenage bandits got away Tuesday." how is that possible? -
I've never seen Tracey Morgan on anything besides SNL, so was he hammered on Jimmy Kimmel? Lengthy clip, but stick it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bO3MBmH_qEw

My grade school teachers taped our mouths shut, hit our hands with yard sticks and made us wear gum on our noses......ALL THE TIME.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) Is longevity what makes a band great? Ultimately it's up to the listener to decide what makes a band great to them.

Upon further review, I'm diggin' Detachment Kit. Looking forward to the EP.
