  1. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 04:21 AM) Kansas is looking damn good i think we all expected they would look better once they got into league play. the big 12 is just down this year.
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) Free info from Rivals. I really hope we get this guy, I'm surprised he eliminated Maryland, as he is related (brother I think, but I know for sure he's related to) Vernon Davis, Maryland TE and soon to be 1st round pick. davis said in a rivals premium thing that he's leaning to michigan state.
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) Then he isn't fan friendly. Leagues want players to be good to the fans through the media. They fine players for not reporting for manditory media days etc. It's a no win for Favre. favre is already established as fan-friendly. choosing to not answer a question is not going to change that any more than it hurt him when he blew off the postgame media session after the packers lost badly on mnf. i can guaranteee no one would think less of him if he chose not to address a topic that he's not made a decision on. when mort asked the question favre could easily have said "i'm here to talk about mike holmgren. this is his week" and not suffered any repercussions, image or otherwise.
  4. the only people who care about this are cub fans who need something to hang their hat on. if you can't be a winner, you might as well crow about your popularity. whatever. if the sox are never considered as "popular" as the cubs, who really f***ing cares?
  5. tequila, or tanqueray. some goose from time to time.
  6. QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) but I can't drink hard liquor unless I have some beer in me. mistake.
  7. anyway, i've always defended the cell. the timing was bad with it being built, that's all. that first year people were all over it's nuts. then when camden went up it was like "uhh, well, uhh..." my biggest complaint actually doesn't have anything to do with how it came out. i just felt the park should have been built facing downtown with the train tracks snaking down the left field line. they probably could have even done some cool s*** with the train tracks. but, hindsight is 20-20. and green seats are definitely cooler, imo.
  8. holy s*** did i just walk into an episode of trading spaces.
  9. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 11:36 PM) it was originally an interview about Holmgren. can't blame him for answering questions that he was asked. he could just as easily said no comment.
  10. i have a few involving s***ting my pants while drunk, but i'm denying those.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) The new bracketology is up. Lunardi has Illinois as a 1 as of right now. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology reading his rationale, i think he has a point. in the short term at least. i don't expect it to turn out that way once all is said and done, however. frankly, i'm not sure exactly how good this team is, which sounds strange to say considering they are 19-2. without a doubt the tough part of the schedule is coming up, though, so we should have a better idea of things in a week or two. the road games at wisky, ohio state, michigan and michigan state could easily be losses. pre-conference i picked them to lose all of those, except for michigan and the wolverines are clearly one of the improving teams in the league right now. prior to the big ten i predicted a 25-5 record heading into the btt. we'll see.
  12. considering who is girlfriend is i'm surprised he didn't have more.
  13. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 09:03 PM) Aaah Yorkshire Pudding, you've not lived until you've tasted it done right. does jello make that in a pudding pop?
  14. we've all been there. you love vodka. can't get enough. then one night you go out, drink tons of it and are rewarded with the mother of all hangovers the following day. the next time you try to drink it, it's not happening. it's been ruined for you, in some cases just for awhile, but in others, forever. here are mine, and the stories behind: jim beam: one of the first times i ever drank we snuck into the parent's liquor stash and got totally faced off of beam. the next day i had to work and spent the whole day puking. i was 18 at the time, and 15 years later i've still never had it again. southern comfort: after i night of drinking i was a bit hungover and cotton mouthed. i went to the fridge and saw a two-liter of 7-up. it looked good so i started chugging it. unfortunately it was a 7-up so-co mix from the previous weekend. more puking, etc. followed. i also am currently fighting off a bad bout with red wine. it's been a month, and so far no dice. i really like red wine so i hope it passes.
  15. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) Nothing will happen until the conclusion of the season. If this team doesn't go at least Sweet 16, he'll be gone. they'll get there. davis is wayne fontes.
  16. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) god erin andrews has a great rack.
  17. sun-times for some reason i think this is totally cool. maybe i'm just old.
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) The entire sports world must stop for two weeks out of respect for the Super Bowl. The public can only care about one thing at a time. We want 24/7 Super Bowl coverage. Let's hear about what some obscure lineman eats for breakfast. Damn, NBA playing games. The NBA even orchestrated the Artest trade/no trade/trade to steal the limelight. OMG! WHY ARE WE EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS? THERE'S A SUPERBOWL IN A FEW DAYS!!! STOP ALL OTHER FORUMS I think most people can pay attention to more than one story. I can't believe there has been any Super Bowl story that you are missing because a HoF QB is contemplating retirement. if this story brought any new information to light then sure, i think it would be worthy. but what new have we learned here? it's been roundly reported since midseason that he was leaning to retirement. why does it need rehashed this week?
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) Does it really matter? People really just don't care about this Superbowl. You and I might, but a whole bunch of people just couldn't care less. It's Seattle and Pittsburgh. There's not much there for a national audience. ESPN and such have to talk about something that will interest people. does it really matter? no. but you could say that about a whole helluva lot of topics that get debated endlessly. if we only had opinions on things that mattered message boards probably wouldn't exist.
  20. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) Blame ESPN. THEY are the ones that interviewed him. THEY are the ones that chose to break it as a story now. favre knows the deal and he knows how this all works. he could easily have declined comment out of respect for the teams competing in the super bowl. that is where the focus should be this week. and this will just be the start. guaranteed holmgren gets asked about it, giving us another day of these stories.
  21. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) LOL You must be a Bears fan. I guess we should b**** about all these teams making coaching moves at the same time too. This Super Bowl doesn't have many story lines besides the Bus. I don't think anyone is complaining about there being a little side story this year. i am a bear fan, but i have great respect for favre. i acknowledge how good he is and his place in history and all of that. but this has been a running story for how long now? and on the monday of super bowl week a story "breaks" that "now he's leaning to retirement?" gmafb. this week should be about the competing teams, not the quarterback on one of the worst teams in the league.
  22. from today's sun-times. lol. who knew he could hit, too?
  23. i wish dude would just make a decision one way or another and be done with it. why couldn't this revelation wait until after the super bowl? he just has to have the limelight.
  24. chris duvalt way to get the florida pipeline started zook.
