  1. Sucks that the Sox didn't sign guys like Cespeda, Puig , or Soler . The Cuban free agents got too expensive for them. Dodgers signed Puig for 7 yrs. $42 M as a 21 yr old . Has only played 14 games in A ball but he is very impressive.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 23, 2013 -> 08:22 PM) Morel? They're not going to risk a $150-200 million roster on Morel, no way. At any rate, wish they were still playing Mitchell, Walker, Thompson in major league games more instead of Brandon Short. How does Morel risk the roster ? Ramirez is hurt. Uribe sucks and now his hammy is tweaked. Amezaga not expected to make the team. Hairston more of an outfielder. Morel would be a nice stop gap . At least he can field the position and maybe hit in the NL. If Cruz plays 3rd then Dodgers have to go Dee Gordon at short.
  3. The Cuban Yasiel Puig is the talk of the Dodgers spring. Now batting over .520 with over 40 AB's . Tall , fast and smoked the 1st pitch to right center which was cut off before it split the gap but legged it into a double. Also has plus power.
  4. Dodgers could use a 3rd baseman. Morel anyone ?
  5. Keppinger with a nice diving play to his right ( down the line) to get Kemp for the 3rd out with 2 men on saving at least one possibly 2 runs.
  6. I like what Flowers has done with the glove today. He framed a borderline pitch very nicely for a called 3rd strike. Caught a foul tip for a called 3rd strike and set up inside for a pitch that Peavy missed his spot on actually acing the outside corner. Flowers moved over his glove hand, caught the pitch, and froze it there for another called 3rd strike. Sometimes when pitchers miss their spot umps won't call it a strike because of the catchers moving their glove too much while lunging for the pitch. And he really smoked that double to center.
  7. 1. Alejandro De Aza (L) CF 2. Angel Sanchez ® SS 3. Jeff Keppinger ® 3B 4. Adam Dunn (L) 1B 5. Tyler Flowers ® C 6. Brandon Short ® RF 7. Dewayne Wise (L) LF 8. Steve Tolleson ® 2B 9. Jake Peavy ® P
  8. Ends tied at 4 and a special thanks to Scottydo for the one post besides mine.
  9. PK ties it at 4 with 2 out bases loaded single up the middle.
  10. Quintana final line 5.2 IP, 2 R, 2 H 3 BB 9 K . Troncoso blown up with combo of hits ,wild pitch passed ball (Troncoso's fault not Gimenez) 4-2 A's
  11. It's fixed now just had problems with it. Parker allows his 1st 2 base runners on walks and both come around to score on oppo hits by both Flowers and Beckham after a Viciedo force out put runners on 1st and 3rs with1 out out. 2-0 Sox. Both were 2 out ribbies after Gimenez foul pop out.
  12. Probably less production crew for ST. Quintana 1 H, 2 BB ,6 K through 4.
  13. Jarrod Parker mowing down Sox through 3 5K No hits. He grew up a Sox fan.
  14. DeAza, Ramirez, Rios , Gillapsie, Kornerko,Viciedo, Gimenez, Flowers (DH) Beckham Quintana SP
  15. From the Sox website: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...ws&c_id=cws Marcus Hall (@_MHa11), 27, is from the Chicago suburb of Aurora, Ill., and he once left his prom date so he could watch the White Sox. That's really all we need to know, but for the record, he majored in music at Columbia College, loves deep dish pizza and worked as a sales leader at Levi's. Did we mention he left his prom date to watch some ball?
  16. QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 01:51 PM) Keppinger still hasn't struck out yet in 30 AB's. That along with his .500 AVG. is pretty impressive, even for S. T. Looks like he is the #2 hitter. .517 now and 2 games in a row with a Beckham HR. Guys must be pumped to have all the regulars in the lineup today.
  17. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 01:50 PM) Well damn...I am at my fiancee's place in Cincinnati and it's choppy, and it's usually choppy in Champaign too on multiple computers. Speedtest.net says I'm good. I dunno, I'll just rely on the Soxtalk PBP haha Use gameday . It lags behind the video a little but it tells you what each batter does and provides a box score.
  18. Keppinger on in 8 straight AB's 4 hits 4 walks. DeAza and Rios contributing. Nice to see walks converted in runs. New look Sox at the top.If the bottom of the order can improve .OBP we may have something.
  19. Sox 10 hits through 5 innings only 2 runs to show for it hitting into 2 DP's. Floyd 5 IP ,7 hits 2 runs, 1 BB 3 K. Axlerod in. Danks 2-2 HR, Beckham 2-2 double, PK 1-3 , Dunn 0-3, Flowers 1-2 BA .320
  20. Keppinger replaced after 2 hits and a walk . On base his last 7 AB's, 4 hits 3 walks, batting 500 14/28.
  21. Well, no K with runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs. Instead a DP.
  22. QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) Talk all you want about the Dunn contract, but right now, early on this Danks contract is looking like biggest mistake this team has made in a long time. As long as we don't get any news on shoulder pain it's just a matter of Danks regaining velocity and command . Expecting great results at this point , 4 spring starts, after so much time off and surgery isn't realistic.
