  1. Just turned on the game and Kotsay was the 1st batter I saw
  2. Kind of surprised the silly thread about Stone being the problem was close. With all the doom and gloom around here it was nice to see an attempt to lighten the mood. The Sox are bad at the moment , it happens, get over it , move on , show a sense of humor. Lighten up , life's too short.
  3. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 08:46 PM) After watching Bobby tonight it is quite clear that he still has the stuff to close. It's all about location. And he had the tight slider working too. Didn't he use to have a pretty good 12 to 6 curve too? I thought he got away from the fastball too much with that 12-6 curve but it was a good pitch , then this year seemed to be all hard stuff and the curve disappeared. Was happy to see the last out of the game was 2 fastballs for strikes and the big curve for the swing and miss.
  4. The offense, defense and starting pitching suck but the season isn't over. I'd enjoy watching a lot more if they can turn their record around and make things interesting. This is like the Murphy's Law White Sox. Whatever can go wrong has gone wrong. It can't last so I'll watch the victories and and hope for comebacks when we're down and pray things improve.
  5. Q power amping up. ! Righteous Rios ! Mr. Jones ! Badass BJ !
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) That ws one of the worst strike calls I've ever seen. It was truly bad .
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 03:44 PM) You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. Gordon's line in AAA: .371/25/8/23/.508/.701/1.209 But yeah, he obviously couldn't hang at high A. Believe he's talking about Field.
  8. I think his struggles could be a result from missing a lot of last year and possibly that 115 pitch or w/e it was effort in a spring training game. Of course the 3 good games he pitched at the end of 2009 might not indicate my previous statement as all that accurate but nevertheless I'm thinking (wishfully) he'll show much improvement as the season goes on.
  9. New article @ whitesox.com about Beckham http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws . Hard to believe he didn't have any extra base hits in May. Very un-Beckham like. I know he'll probably be a 2nd baseman for the rest of his career but with Teahens bad D maybe having Beckham back at 3rd and Nix at 2nd wouldn't be such a bad thing ,making Teahen the primary LH DH instead of Kotsay ,who then can re assume what he does best (pinch hit). Thought it was funny in the article Beckham saying some one wrote him on his Facebook page saying he was flying open. Beckham said he's definitely not doing that. Doesn't fathom always say that ?
  10. I like how Cora managed, pinch hitting Vizquel for Nix so he ended up playing 3rd defensively in the last inning, leaving Freddy in for the 7th, Santos 2 /3's of an inning and Thornton's 1 1/3 .
  11. QUOTE (shawnhillegas @ May 22, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) Better stuff and repertoire? Sergio Santos circa 2010 Bobby Jenks circa 2005 I don't know what he's throwing but that one pitch has movement like a screwball the way it darts down and in to righties.
  12. I wouldn't mind if Santos pitched the 9th but probably won't since he pitched yesterday .
  13. This thread will be about 10X smaller than the unload thread but i like your optimism !
  14. Plenty of time for Santos to prove he can pitch in big innings and be an All star.
