  1. Q hitting 3rd today , Dye 5th. Also Rios back in the lineup hitting 7th.
  2. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) Carlos hitting 3rd, Dye down to 5th. Thanks OZ , bout time.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 08:11 AM) I haven't started a game thread since...well, I can't remember. It's been a while. This means we'll either go on a ridiculous streak or come crashing down to Earth. You're welcome, Kyyle. Better be a ridiculous streak or I'll have to start the next one God forbid.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 10:27 AM) Nah. Why utilize your best OF defender when you can trot out Pods and Dye to perform a Ringling Brothers imitation? I'm putting you on ignore
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) I already know that I will be very negative and sarcastic the rest of this season. This team is driving me insane. If you are easily annoyed or offended by this type of discussion I would recommend putting me on ignore for the next 5 weeks. If there are others who will be equally negative and annoying please add your name to this thread so that others can put you on ignore. I will look for your posts so that we can wallow in our misery together. Thanks for the heads up. I've never used ignore and won't start with you.
  6. In out in out in out in out in out in out ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh IN !
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 09:53 AM) How's Rios doing as a Sox? I haven't paid that close of attention, but it doesn't seem like he's tearing it up. He hasn't hit a dinger yet, has he? Yea he has and a few doubles and a couple of nicely executed hit and runs. But he's been sitting a lot. Kenny can't be very happy about that. He's got to be out there every day.
  8. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 06:28 AM) Are you saying Ozzie may be too complacent? LOL thanks for referencing my thread.
  9. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 09:05 AM) Way to go Danks! Congrats!! Glad to see that he's done this. It only gets harder the longer you've been doin' it. I've smoked for a long time (more years than I care to admit) and quit a couple of weeks ago. It has been HARD. Keep it up Big Ed don't even bum a smoke .
  10. Time for Beckham to hit a double in the right field corner
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 06:16 PM) Come on DJ, we need a quick inning here. Can you wish for 10 more runs by us too ?
  12. WOW I had no idea Brandon Allen was called up and got a hit with the D'backs on Saturday. After 12 HR's in only 145 AB's in AAA and D'backs 1st baseman sucking guess it was time.
  13. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 06:11 PM) Paulie puts up a 3 spot. 7 runs for the sox. Normally we are cruising. However we had to have the Count piss down his pant leg. Hopefully this is enough rope to hang the Count by. Richard was just about ready to get chased out of the rotation even with a couple of good starts. The Count pitches like crap for most of the year and one good start against one of the worst hitting teams in the majors seems to have Ozzie all rejuvenated on the Count bandwagon. Hopefully this is the end of him in the rotation. Richard is 3-0 with the Pads and they might be 4 or 5 -0 in games he's started.
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) Need a double by Paulie. Ha I was going to put a bomb but I felt greedy
  15. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) peavy scoreless through 5. 80 pitches. not sure if he'll be back out there for the 6th good news !
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 04:26 PM) Not a bad first, although it seems like you guys are suggesting the umps cost Jose a few pitches. No it's not that. The 3rd base umpire blew a call at 3rd on a steal by Pedroia.
  17. Way to pitch out of it JC ! The old school socks are working !
  18. After All-Star Chicago White Sox 32 118 13 22 1 0 4 16 35 16 22 0 0 .289 .297 .186 After All-Star Chicago Cubs 32 110 20 36 11 2 4 19 63 22 24 0 2 .439 .573 .327 Since you mentioned Fukudome needed a demotion you can compare their stats right here. Same amount of games after the AS break. Fukodome has 11 double 4 hr's. Dye has 1 double and 4 hr's. Fukodome is hitting .327 , Dye .186 Total bases Fukodome 63, Dye 35. OBP Fukodome .439, Dye .289 . Slugging Fukodome .573 , Dye .297 . Still think Dye doesn't need to move lower in the batting order ? That's just pitiful from Dye. I know I didn't compare it to Fukudome's 2008 like you mentioned but this isnt the 2008 season and in 32 games since the 2009 AS break Fukudome is hitting better and fielding better then his counterpart on the South side.
  19. QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 03:45 PM) Demoting Jermaine Dye and Paul Konerko is not going to help us get wins in bunches. We've made this bed we have currently, and we're going to sleep in it. Ride it out. There's still like 35 baseball games left. We're either going up or going down with the guys we got. No one deserves to be demoted. We need a streak of some kind and it hasn't happened all year. I'm not saying its Dye's or Paulies fault . It's a team wide thing and a product of bad D and other factors. There's no sense in keeping the lineup the same . Managers always try differe\nt combos to see if it can provide a spark. So why can't Ozzie ? .500 ball is not acceptable with the talent we have on the field just ask our GM.
  20. QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) Seriously? The guy is one of our top producers since 2005, and now he hits his first slump of the season, he needs to be moved down? NOW, not earlier in the season, we HAVE to move him away from RF? I'm sorry but Dye's deficiencies in the outfield aren't any more apparent this week then they were on opening day. We made a commitment to have Jermaine Dye as the White Sox right fielder in 2009, and we had better honor it. The only move I see as being worthy is moving Q to #3, JD to #4, Thome to #5 and PK to #6. We're talking like Jermaine Dye is on the same level offensively as Kosuke Fukudome in 2008. Kosuke deserved to be demoted. Dye does not. But the whole point is he is not producing NOW and hasn't been since the AS break. Move him down in the order and let him bust out of it, but keeping him in the 3 hole is just asking for losses.
